maybe comprise and ask if you can start a little before the end of the day using a training room with broadband?

if you see one of these does it really matter if it’s an original.

why not have all of the style of an older car coupled with modern performance and reliability. Plus often there are only a limited number of the older cars still in existence with limited spare parts I guess. Some people rebuild old classic cars with modern engines and suspension etc, which I understand is debated by the purist’s.

do you think that the jimny has been heavily modified though? i always thought they were a good trendy runabout. Didn’t realize the suspension could do that.

get the feeling that the bmw i8 is going to be just as exclusive as the 8 series.

how does it achieve that mpg??

probably quite sensible for not riding something they felt uncomfortable with. May have had an injury..and problem with the bike..??

thing is with the halfords issue although the tyres may have been close, most people would not check them again until the MOT the following year so potentially there’s a safety issue, although yes honesty would have been the right thing.

i’d guess cycling (away from traffic) walking (away from traffic) are prolly the safest.I was going to add public transport for roads as the safest but buses do not have seatbelts, so maybe car.

many factors involving you and those around you. There’s certain areas I know where the risk increases due to those around you regardless of your own actions. Thankfully we have the police, dvla etc, councils etc who assist in reducing risks. I guess alot still depends on the individual – cycle down lightly used roads, walk away from traffic through parks, etc

is there a governing body/trade regulator/ type organisation that you can get advice and maybe a good practice / process check /certificate signed? after discussing this with a manager etc?

maybe legal cover / insurance should be raised with the manager too?

    i guess they roll better.

a tyre flattens though when load is placed upon it, so a larger tyre has a larger contact area. simples.

For a a perfect circle touching a perfect plane, the contact patch will the same regardless of circle diameter. Other variables may make a difference but it’s not directly down to the wheel size.

i guess for a given tyre pressure a larger diameter tyre will flatten more than a smaller tyre and therefore provide more grip. This was considerably more than a 26 inch and very close to a 29 inch without many of the 29 inch trade off’s. The angle of attack was described as also much better than a 26 inch and not far off of the 29 inch. All the stat’s on these and other factors are listed iirc.

yeah i thought it was interesting at the time.

Think it was the contact patch though. Have a look yourself if you can. I think there was two or three pages with this information in the catologue.
It may well have been the contact patch whilst rolling obstacles .I think there was information about the angle of attack or something if i remember.

probably not got a clue.. but if the car has lost all water and then carried on running , then the engine block would get very very hot and then would the oil then burn/vanish too as it’s the only thing that can offer any cooling? ie all the heat is going to discharge into the oil if the components do not fail. As stated I do not know. Thought HG at first.

it’s all very confusing…best to just nod and shrug a few times. No one offended.. no ignorance displayed..

the vdub boys and girls enrich my life considerably. 🙂

gotta love the americans.. made me smile today ( different paint though )
think it was 6 or 6.5 litres but will probably burble along for a lifetime ( as opposed to blowing ( no pun intended ) a turbo after 50k)
or just show me an alfa

was browsing at giant bikes and picked up a giant catalogue in a newish bikeshop, which list the pros and cons. Something like 6 small/medium disadvantages iirc over 26 inch.. then one largeish advantage considerably more contact area in theory…iirc mmmmm 🙄 At least their honest I guess. Deffo not as straight cut though as we are being led to believe imho. Surely 24/26/650b/29 all have a place.

i always think of DMR as the TVR of bikes. I should imagine the Bolt is ace. 🙂 Just because something is heavy (and i am not even sure the bolt is? )doesn’t always mean it rides heavy. Often the added weight feels good and gives you confidence, plus peace of mind that’s it’s going to last( imho ) Just might take a bit longer to climb on 🙂

i like that scott. looks very innovative.loads of bids – it’s probably a rare downhill retrobike – a piece of history. Probably going to go to a collector.

    omg

both the dmr and scott are somewhat odd looking. 🙂

    thanks for sharing.

with regard to that fork, i should imagine he knows what the frame is capable of running i guess.

to be fair that dmr looks ok. Looks like a hardcore street hucking type bike. Seems to be well spec’d for that sort of thing having a strong 24 rear and double clamp seat clamp etc. It’s also got steel dmr wingbars and 3 piece cranks both of which are super strong. Flanged grips for heavy landings. A very strong build. Forks aside that’s very well spec’d. Not sure the headtube would agree though.
