explained here ( if still upto date)

depends on the terms and conditions of the retailer i believe.
contract complete usually at time of dispatch (if this article is accurate )

    I expect this at a guess –

although maybe the retailer may still have a case for error, although I think this is unlikely and maybe may argue that as a payment has effectively not made ( unless you paid postage) then the contract is void anyway??

I think it is important motorbike riders mostly leave their lights on too.

i know the rider was going fast but i think he would have been visible and driver should be aware motorbikes can shift. I can completely understand the accident as it looked like the car was waiting at the junction until the bike was close. Sorry but i think that car is at fault and didn’t see the bike at all. Car didn’t hit the brake or put their foot down. Had drivers do this when I am on my cycle doing only 20mph. imho

another vote for euro car parts. Some goods deals and sensible pricing is my experience although you may need to work out the basics of what you need beforehand although i think their website/staff also select compatible ones.

maybe just google the number obtained with the words scam and see what comes up. Think there’s sites that people list odd numbers on

edit – you’ve done that already

That would be good. Anythings possible with Mr Palmer.

if you’d not have answered any of the text’s then ‘dad’ and other said ‘relative’ would both have a number that was different to OH. unless OH rec’d texts. Also ‘our text’s’ suggests more than one so it’s unlikely the text’s went missing to OH phone. If they had texted another number then why use the number for OH for the phone call ( unless the had assumed the number was incorrect and then incorrectly obtained OH number somehow based in first name. Does seem a bit odd. Maybe check to see if an unknown call was missed beforehand that may have revealed via VM the OH first name. Also if a call went to Voicemail but no voicemail was left/activated it’s possible the call would not came up as either a VM or a missed call and OH name still revealed.

it’s probably innocent enough although thinking about it I had an odd call prolly about the same time as said FJ saying..it’s grandad(my name wasn’t mentioned) happy birthday. sounding really upbeat and jolly.. please call me..and that was it. I wonder if my name was on my voicemail whether the call would have been personalized. Probably just a wrong number though.. just struck me as odd at the time as no name of the caller was mentioned, or anything else mentioned within the message.. I may be wrong but i think most grandads who hadn’t spoken for a while would usually have a bit more to say.

Had a few fonej**cker type calls a number of years ago..hence the suspicion..

maybe the caller had a genuine reason to phone and did not know the number of their son/daughter/relative and may not have been in contact with them for some time etc etc. They may have been incorrectly diverted to said mobile from another source, and were just unsure if the number was correct upon phoning, hence the further questions?

maybe they are calling hoping that there’s no answer and a convincing message is left,( as happened )so that you phone them back on a rip off scam rate. When you answer they then cannot leave a message so they just ask for more information ( such as a surname – which happened) that could then be used to leave further even more effective messages in the future by either them or other scamming friends. They may receive a fee for this info. from their friends – first and surname – being the most valuable)? Then it maybe – Your nan’s name, your doctors name etc etc. The more info they keep getting from people the more the value and effectiveness.. and so the network goes on.

    maybe….

Probably not relevant but..when you pump up the tyres, just put a little air in at first and then rotate them if you need to, so the valve lines up well before pumping. If using those evil threaded ones then do not tighten the collar much until everything pumped up. And even then I just nip them up.Also check the valves holes for sharp edges, or bare metal exposed, and that rim tape is present.

If you like the tyres it may be an option to get some larger width freeride tubes or lightish dh tubes ( not too big though )? They’re likely to be thicker rubber and a larger diameter and may grip the tyre better.

In general….if it’s chromed then it should be easy to see with a torch. If it’s out of sight, maybe bend a coat hanger and have a poke around in the bit’s of bodywork etc.If you bend the hanger in a ‘U’ at the end your be less likely to damage any wires etc. Just take some care not to snag and push any wiring , relays etc. You can also rock the suspension a bit, provided the bonnet is secured. Prolly best to keep the hood down for this. Also disconnect the battery first too if your poking around.

best to find it incase it gets jammed in something important. Try looking for it in the dark, with a powerful small white beamed torch or a bike light ( i find the actual road flashing type led’s are best ) Often easier to see things this way. Then maybe a coat hanger of something.

even 2 days a week with a mid week ride and consistency will do wonders and doesn’t even need to be such hard graft for toning etc.Depends on your goals. Good luck. 🙂

if you trained hard ( not neccessary for long (maybe 1 hour max) but hard ) consistently for 3 times a week with a progressive programme starting easy, then eat and sleep well, you’ll be really surprised at the results your get and maintain. Also rest days are just as important as training days, so do not overdo it. Cycling is also good to combine. There’s no reason you shouldn’t be getting results by now. Will not happen overnight but your get their naturally and reap the health benefits. Plus if you cycle you wouldn’t need to do any imo boring cv work and if you organise rest days well, your cycling strength will be brilliant. Have a look at different types of gym around you, not just the ones full of running machines. Take care of your joints and keep good form, to avoid injury. If you’ll not getting the results at the moment get a decent no bs basic old school training book and read it or get a decent programme or trainer. What the Other guys will be able to do though ( i expect )is prolly train harder for longer with less recovery, which if you think about it isn;t really doing your body any favours in the long run anyway imho and isn’t really going to help with cycling much either. Aim to keep upping your intensity. Reminds me I must get back in shape. 😳

might be worth looking at the tyre tread to see if it’s uniform and/or scrubbing.

if it’s not something obvious –

may be something away from the steering wheel not correctly aligned and then feeding back movement to the steering wheel. Could happen under
braking only as the load will transfer to the front and effect would be multiplied.

damaged / bent driveshaft if that’s possible?
Coils located on the shocks correctly?
    cv joints ok?
    Steering rack issues?
    Out of line/damaged wheel?
    Damaged tyre?

As great as slicks are, might be worth considering some semi slicks/low tread type tyres. I think you can get them with puncture protection etc. Just allows more freedom to ride a different type of route imho.

hate to say it but a lot of those matchbox/corgi type cars were not real car models – (excuse the pun) and i think probably loosely based on something maybe. Although this one may be??

Had my first white out in Andorra iirc and could only see a few feet ahead. Luckily I was on piste though. Wasn’t actually that scary tbh, but my mind kept telling me it was and thinking of situations that might occur.

got caught in a rip tide in Newquay once. Wasn’t very far out at all, but that initial feeling of being out of control will always stay with me. Was very scary but i thought best to just conserve energy and relax. Glad to say it worked. Such conditions are probably something experienced surfers think nothing of at all, or understand well enough to avoid an issue.

if you get them for a good price and can service them i do not think you will be disappointed. Although I suspect today’s basic quality forks are not so basic now either.
