i watched a figure moving along the road on a bit of a misty night, whilst out on my bike this winter. Thought it was a drunk person and was a bit concerned they were going to move into my path, and also being a badly lit bit of road i was a bit concerned from a safety point of view. Looked like a cloaked figure. I then thought ohh.. it’s just the mist.. but kept watching as i approached it. It was a person for sure I thought as I approached. Rode past head down really quickly, looked back .. nothing. Mist wasn’t so bad , but still nothing. Thought, oh they’ve probably left the path or something..but thought this a bit odd as only secinds ago I’d seen it and had watchwed it for maybe 20 or 30 seconds. Next day passed the same spot in daylight.. There’s no path on that side of the road and nowhere to go due to fencing, etc.. I would describe it as a tall cloaked figure that did not sway or have any leg movement when it moved.

    Think it was a ghost.

thanks – just tried putting pads in the using spacer. Ages since I’ve bled shimano. With magura i take the pads out and use a spacer.

Now seem to be rubbing the rotor a little. Back is fine and came oem with pistons flush i think giving more pad clearance.

an experienced training friend of mine suggested doing a really really light weight set after the main sets, carried out very slowly which apparently aids recovery.

well done losing weight. I suppose what works for one person may be different to what works for another.

I once read something saying it was anger turned against oneself. Not sure if this is true though and thankfully I just read this out of interest. Also offending any sufferers is not my intention. As with anything I guess there’s a whole host of reasons, as well as solutions.

i like to fact that you cannot see the top of the hill, when climbing. Love a warm summer’s evening dusk to night ride.

true. 🙂 Might make sense to store them in a bag or dark really as long as the temperature is reasonable.

i had a 4 year old TSG pisspot that had taken a few small blows.Replaced it with another and dropped the old one from 30 foot to concrete to test it. Just bounced and seemed fine – Although the inner seperated slightly from the outer shell.Plus UV exposure would affect things negatively too

**The drop occured on private land I should add** with no risk to anyone.

Normal XC helmets wouldn’t be so robust though and are more likely to need replacing more often with fewer smaller impacts IMHO.

I’ve done this on a pair of oem 2006 marzocchi drop offs, as you couldn’t get lighter springs. Been for for ages. Did some research as i was a bit concerned – many others have done it too on these older zocchis without issues.

Charge can be checked using a voltmeter across the battery terminals. Should be about 13 to 13.5v running i expect but may vary with your car. Usually 12 or 12.5 ish if cars not running.((IIRC)) Earths can get corroded too and require a clean up.
Remember neg battery terminal off first, on last. ( might be worth double checking for your car)

Thanks. Not sure if I want to modify the frame. I know you can get clamps with cable stop inserts for full length outers. I’ll just make sure there long enough this time.

yeah I thought of replacing with V brakes, may do that.

    Thanks all.

thanks. Makes sense. Just thought while I was sorting it out I’d include the addition of full length outers.

i had them years ago. Had 2 minor ops which removed all of the nail down one side of each foot Never had a problem since.I was told mine would grow back, hence the ‘body modification’ It was fun watching it being done under a local.

when you get up, get a few minutes of natural light ( if you can ) as it helps the body’s body clock. Also a bath soaking in lavender oil is a great relaxant and totally chills people. Also if you’re a bit of a worrier I’ve heard it said that people should maybe have a mega worrying session for a short period ( like 15 mins i think iirc) at a set time etc, then move on.

try looking for a second hand pair of OEM dh rims on oem deore hubs if your on a tight budget. People often upgrade their OEM dh rims for something better and lighter and sell the originals. Also if this is the case they are likely to come with cheap Shimano hubs. The beauty of this is you can buy a complete new hub M475, strip it down etc and do a full rebuilt if required using the new parts.Only issue i’ve had with cheap hubs like this was after 2 weeks of dh trail riding on a ht the cone bearings worked they’re way loose a bit ( didn’t affect performance ) but if you bear in mind that I also bent a DMR v8 axle then this doesn’t seem so bad. They got a hammering!!!

DH rims, Proper Heavy duty dh tubes, maxxis etc, Proper dh dual ply tyres. Should be able to run lowish pressures ( 15 – 20 psi) without pinch flats. You don’t need to get expensive bling rims or hubs. Just some dh or fr basic mavics with deore hubs, if moneys tight. You could try foam roller excercises maybe after at a day of uplifts, when you get home.

    6 to 8 years

    skateboards

9 to 12 years ( larger and bigger feet for his age I guess)

    skateboards2

If he’s after something decent that’ll last and can be rebuilt I’d go with the Enuff. The adult ones are great.

Have a look at the site though as he may be after a slightly larger one depending I guess on his weight and foot size.

OR just get a £7 or £10 No fear One like these and see if he uses it and enjoys it – it will still be reasonable – even for that price.

    cheap skateboards
    Then get something half decent

steep hill. put it in second from stand still and accelerate slowly if your can, until the clutch has been released then give it some. You want the clutch to be working hard. Soon tell if it’s the clutch.

Haven’t really thought about this too much so may be wrong but –
I guess most of the momentum required for a car to get rolling is at lower revs in first and second gear and therefore the engine and thus clutch would be working hardest at this point, which I think is consistent with your information given.

Please do not blame me if there’s are fiberous burning smell and you cannot get the mondeo back home.

i ventured out a couple of weeks back in very harsh weather. Except for my hands going numb ( wrong choice of gloves) I didn’t even notice the weather and had an amazing time..

when i get back home I make sure I fix my mind on this feeling for a moment.. which then prepares me for the next time.
