looks brilliant. I would zip tie the cables underneath the top tube.
Will come into it’s own in winter ( ssshhh.. )too.

edt – the valve cap trick works best with bullet caps.

to protect your stantions use pipe lagging.
to insulate a water reseviour ( to keep it cooler )apparently you can use a home made gaffer taped thin foam sleeve around it. Add some ice cubes into the water.

if you commute you can get really thin (but with a decent sized cable inside) cable locks. Put this through your saddle rails and then optionally put it through your helmet, securing both items. Can then be looped, through another lock or the frame etc..to secure it. Only risk is the helmet getting damaged in some way, and you may not even be aware this occured.

if you have a saddle with some foam exposed from a slightly ripped cover then to prevent further ripping and get it as good as new ( from a funtional viewpoint ) drip some superglue into the wound. Superglue hardens the foam. vinyl bonds to foam. works a treat.

    like this game.

in my experience V brakes work twice as well with bmx brake levers ( for u brakes, as opposed to bmx race v brake levers.) than normal v levers. Plus these can be picked up for next to nothing., come in funky colours and are designed to be used with one finger. They also have a better lever shape more often than not. Loads of bite, better modulation and greater overall stopping power. In summary, more powerful and responsive.

However haven’t tried them with shifters but doubt this would cause issues.

if you commute and leave your bike locked up, you can buy locking dust caps for cars from halfords etc ..to prevent pesky people letting your tyres down.

    OR..

You can tighten normal caps really tight and then put a really light smearing of petroleum jelly over them. Not too much though or it may go on the rims.

If you have V brakes on your commuter you can secure the springs to the brake arm with a zip tie, to again protect from the peskies.

anywhere ridden with a sense of adventure and ( usually ) knobbly tyres.
think it’s more a state of mind rather than being specific about the terrain. It helps to ride an mtb though.

i’ve had a few over the years. In all cases, in the dark, riders wearing dark colours / black, with no lights or reflectors or anything darting out of alleys or side roads on very badly lit roads, in heavy rain etc. How could you feel safe with No lights covered head to toe in black, in such conditions? Seen adults with reasonable bikes do this too, riding on the roads.

One to remember also is to make sure that you rear light isn’t covered by baggy jackets or panniers . bags etc.. as some are. They must think that they are visable even though for the most part their rear lights are useless. Always good to use two in different positions.

if you’ve got an old unused spare Android phone the tech radar website explains how you can use it with free apps as a permanent security camera. Might be worth looking at.

check if the frame has been resprayed. Ask what it was like / the reason for the respray. Just use common sense and give it a good look over.

i mostly do not listen to music as I like the sounds of nature or the urban environment. Sometimes if I ride by myself I like it though if I’m in the mood.

i’d go for dual plys personally, unless they make you really slow overall. Adds some reasurance for longivity. There’s the dh track and some singletrack trail sections are really rooty. Plus with dual plys you can run lower pressures. Although sp’s will be better for cycling between sections on big days out.

I’d contact trail addiction and see what they say.

    Enjoy 😉

I’d go for the Cove as you cannot really mile munch at Swinley unless doing loads of laps and there’s stuff to play on, on the Cove including the bermed new trials and jump gulley etc and the climbs are nothing.
imho the new trails are brilliant for what they are, but a Cove will make them more fun.

I’d carry the jacket and put it on close it the interview. If you take it off during the interview you may have a bit of a sweaty shirt, so I’d keep it on.

metal tyre levers, elbow grease and maybe marked rims as a result. Be careful with the tube if you are using them.

also worth keeping a (paper!!)written logbook at home ( and compiled at home!!)of the injustices that are occuring with dates and severity etc so you can get some perspective and view of the situation, without getting drawn into it further at work.

Your being performance managed out. All the tell tale signs are evident.

Keep your head down and apply for other stuff like mad!!

It may even help short term if you are (percieved) as being being pleasant and agreeable whilst you sort yourself out. Pushing back ( or at least creating this impression )may add fuel to the fire.

Important thing is to remember not to take it personally, and get out with your confidence and sanity intact.

the Halfords ad is brilliant 🙂

Really well thought out, love the Klunker guys – that really impressed me!!

Good to see everyone catered for. Really brings home the diversity of cycling.

Looks like a 2CV made it in as well!
