one theory could be that much of the behaviour ( the parking, the curtain twitching, the psycho drivers) described may be linked to the increasing density of people in most cities, compounded maybe in some cases by an increase in ( mostly warranted) road restrictions, compounded by not just the physical and practical elements but the altered state of mind that results.

In fact I have loved all the hockey matches, all the skiing and the boarding all the of presenters. Graham Bell, Ed, both the hockey commentators for explaining their understanding and explanations of the play, the giant slalom skiing ,ski jumping, bobsleigh, luge, skeleton, simply just everything I’ve watched. Feel sorry for Elise Christie. She’s so fast. Hope the games are online, or on tv for a good while, as I’ve probably missed loads too. Just brilliant!!! 🙂

what an amazing olympics. Womens hockey final was awesome as have been many many other events. Ed and companies snow/ski commentary has been brilliant. The Russians have put on an amazing show. Glad they’ve won some medals too. BBC have been brilliant too.

Plusn*t broadband a number of years ago. Didn’t work at all. Phoned them up. They blamed BT. BT did checks. Found no problems. Phoned PN up – mouthy young gobs*ht manager decided to be aggressive. They charged me a couple of hundred quid iirc for the privilage of setting me up and charging for the minimum contract length on a service that didn’t work at all and then charged me iirc for cancelling it. Useless. Should have really taken it further through an ombusman / regulator. head office.

I kinda learnt in one afternoon on a bmx after watching tutorials and with loads of tries. Shame the hops were pretty lame, although i think I sort of got the technique down.I ached like mad for 3 days after though.

It’s good that many are interested in the kit etc. I prefer just to ride.
I still prefer 8 spd stuff, but I suppose that’s odd.

This wind and rain combo hasn’t made things easy. Knowing the trails are going to be flooded / waterlogged doesn’t help. Just do urban rides when I can. There’s always a way or place to ride. You just need to find it and have a plan for different conditions and schedules.

my experience is drinking some alcohol after a ride gets me going again, where’s it wouldn’t if I hadn’t just ridden.

Sounds old fashioned but a pint of warm milk makes me come down off the post ride buzz and then quite quickly makes me sleepy. Plus it’s ideal in every other way, as a post ride drink to boot.

The only alcoholic ones that seem ok for me are something like Guinness, or IPA . Seem ok if you insist on alcohol but not as good as milk.

these should make a difference – did on mine. Still not brilliant in the wet but much better. In the dry the brake went from useless to very good.

They’re much bigger. Thinking about it a normal mtb brake shoe may fit still work although I am not certain about fitting a u brake. They will however fit the wheels circumference ok (not perfectly though)

I think it’s also important to understand that ill feeling towards those that are active can also occur which doesn’t really help matters.

i am starting to think that prolonged unhealthy eating habits rewire the brains chemistry somehow, causing the problem to get increasingly worst, unless dealt with, which may in itself be very hard for some.
Probably many factors why the cycle started firstly .. but then all too often it gets worst..and many ( not all) do not seem to be too concerned.

also if you can remove a fuse close to the battery for any stereo system. Blew two fuses in one go when I learnt the hard way although this is with an old type car stereo. Not sure about jump starting but for battery disconnects mines Neg off first, On last (iirc) Best look at your manual.

might be worth getting some electrical silicon gel to cover the exposed plugs with. Halfords / ebay sell it. Should come undone too if need be.

got a special limited edition dakine backpack from online stock much cheaper than anywhere else – no problems. Asked for a few little odds and ends instore – needed for the weekend – they didn’t have any in stock such as a few little bolts etc and the mechanic has given me some from his junk spares box for nowt.

minor and cycle related – not changing the freewheel on my BMX when I did some local racing back in the day. Used to get a good start and then drop right back after the first third of the track and end up last as the gearing was way too high. Plus the fact other regular racers were much stronger. I really wanted to do something about it as it knocked my confidence and i knew what the issue was but as a kid I kept looking at it and was unsure how to do this, even though I had access to some tools and could get to a good local bmx shop for the required tools, funded by my paper round.

    a few here = baby g’s

I have small wrists and have 2 baby shocks which are perfect. Have a look for neutrally coloured ones – look perfect on men and women. Just replaced the battery on one of them after a number of years. Cost £1.80. with the right mini watch screw driver and a little help from amazon. Great watches imo although it out’s of warranty and old now.

Bottom blue one has a smaller face than the upper ones and are not quite as good technically but are still brilliant and well priced. Think it is exclusive to Argos but may be wrong.

The top ones are often down to £40 so may be worth using amazon or waiting a while. Have a good scroll through Amazon as there was loads of unisex looking ones well within your budget.

had a really bad infected ingrown toenail that was too wide and dug into my toe every time i put pressure on my foot – done by an apprentice doc under the supervision of a proper doc as a teen. Involved cutting a segment of my toe and nail out to stop it growing back whilst i watched. I quite liked watching all the blood come out etc as I couldn’t feel anything. However the injection into tender swollen pussey area of the toe was agony. Is this gonna hurt..?.’it may be a little uncomfortable for a moment’…lol

Worth it though…they did a grand job – never had the issue occur again.
    Had both big toes done.

Not quiet sure what happened once when I had an op.. woke up in the room outside of the theatre, but not in the main hospital area surrounded by operation trolleys… think i went back to sleep..

i’ve read in a classic car mag that Ciff lemon cleaner is good for cleaning the actual blades, although if it’s abrasive at all make sure you wash it all off . Ps Never tried it – do so at your own risk!!
