note that Sheldon Brown said max compliment bearings shouldn't go anywhere near a bike

Wheels and rotating parts then yes agree
    Suspension pivots then disagree
two very different applications need different properties of bearing

    Simplybearings.co.uk
mountain bike componants (think its .co.uk but google it)
Also Chain Reaction have between 33-50% off various sizes at the mo, still expensive but they are Enduro MAX bearings so supposedly better sealed and packed with more grease

You have two options with bearings, buy cheap and buy twice (or more) or buy quality and (hope) they last

Beware ebay sellers selling supposedly SKF bearings for a couple of quid

    mauritius is beautiful
lots of big jungley clad mountainsloads of hiking opportunities, plenty of watersports and some of the best scuba and snorkling anywhwere
too big to drive in a day.It is actually quite big
Outside the 5* beach resorts though it is quite poor – eye openingly so when you get amongst some of the local little villages inland
I worked there for a week a few years ago doing a structural inspection on a 500' mast that is used by their civil aviation dept as a communication link between the airport and the capital city
It is directly in line of the main flightpath and we were shocked to find all the aircraft warning lights on it were out of order!!
On this basis alone I would be to scared to go back, having seen how close planes flew to it coming in to land ;)
Being stood on top of that mast as a 747 flew underneath me so close I could see the pilots eyes is an experience I dont want to ever repeat!

Our honeymoon 3 years ago was in Africa –
Flew to Jo'berg hired car and drove to a weeks safari in Kruger (Stayed at Hippo Hollow – top place for honeymoon, little wooden hut above the river bank, hippos grazing beneath our balcony), followed by flight from JoBerg to Livingstone (Zambia) 2 day canoe safari down Zambeezi river (- plenty of other activites on offer in Livingstone if you fancy everything from bungee jumps of the bridge to jet boating helicopter flights over Victoria Falls, cycling and walking tours etc)
then we flew down and had a 'relaxing' week in CapeTown – wine tours, Table Mountain, Cape of Good Hope, Robin Island prison etc

think it cost us about £2.5k 3 years ago for 18nights (2 of which where flights there and back), may be more with world cup in S Africa this year but guess that depends when in July you go?
Could be tailored down to suit budget anyway
We went with Virgin Holidays but could easily book bits seperate and prob cheaper if you wanted (we didnt want additional hassle ontop of booking wedding stuff)

    i'd say that's an oxymoron

half jackets here with 3 lenses – cover every situation
    Yellow
    clear (use on nightrides)
a darker tint one (forget what) for that one summer day every year!
used yellow when snowboarding last year as well, very good

2nd the XLJ lenses being better fit
Have Bolle safety glasses from work though – awful for biking in, too much refraction and distorsion around the edges

i might still have a deposit held at Rossetta carryed over from a cancelled trip last year. Need to call them when they reopen and find out if they are still holding it or if I have forfeited it
If so Im not gonna get up there this year (new baby) so happy to see about transferring it to another name if thats okay with them, will loose part of the money anyways probably
(BTW they were great dealing with me over the phone – no probs whatsoever and didnt seem grumpy or miserable)

i got a cracking deal on the Omni Parker house that someone else recommended a couple of years ago – was right before xmas too so not exactly low season
Actually made it cheaper than youth hostels in boston
Definately worth a look, fantastic historic hotel and perfectly central

if you phone and request they will prob downgrade you back – no point paying for something your not likely to use
Second what others said I have always found Sky to be excellent
Do you use BBC iplayer? If so this could be the reason I think they changed it couple months ago and it streams in a higher quality by default now – using more mb's

no idea if its any good but we just got a Graco travel system (Ziggy Zebra one) from Toys r Us £200 all in including car seat base and lie flat carrycot thing was £300 odd they have a good sale on at the moment on most of their stuff
When you look at the prices of some of them upto £600+ at £200 if its not the best after a few months (ie wifey finds it cumbersome and too heavy) then at least we havent wasted so much

Use some common sense, its the Peak district, its 14 miles, its not a trail centre with a well stocked bike shop at the end, however it's also not a three day trek across remotest Northern Scotland

Oh and no good having a huge bag of kit to cover all eventualities if you dont know how to use it

Probably more important than a bivvy bag etc (and no matter if its a 4, 14 or 400 mile ride) is some basic skills – map-reading, emergency bike maintenance and first aid for a start.
9 times out of 10 they will get you out of the sh*t regardless of what kit you have to hand in your bag

halifax home insurance will cover bikes, listed as a valuable item so long as kept in house, garage or locked to immovable object in a secured shed
I would suggest changing your contents insurance will be cheaper than specialist bike insurance – I was quoted over £600 a year by several bike insurers to cover two £2k bikes, sevral more wouldnt offer cover unless each bike on a seperate policy???

Replace the V brake noodle with QBP Travel agents
I use them on cross bike to run Vee's with Shimano STI levers but they can also be used to increase power
Got mine from Mark Anthony cycles in Buxton (via thier ebay shop -activesportskit, about £19 each I think
Google QBP Travel agents for more info

Only half of Boots site is within the city limits, they're saying they're going to build a multi storey in the Broxtowe half to avoid the parking levy

Yep and Notts council is up in arms because that means they won't raise the money they need through the tax for the tram extension!
Well duH what did they expect, major employers and contibuters to the local economy to just roll over and take it?
Boots will not be the only one's to up sticks or find ways around it, my wifes employers are also considering moving

also consider that not all trains on the line to Derby through Belper stop at all stations – Cromford for example

QMC hospital is the pits. It has a very bad reputation with people in the know locally (I know a couple of maternity nurses that do rounds and they all hate QMC)
Derby hospital is brand new and is not in middle of know-where like others say – I live 5 mins away and know for a fact it is actually well served with buses – there are at least 5 different buses from the town centre / train station / old DRI site to there – and the hospital hopper bus I think is free for staff. It would also only be 15 mins by bike (I do journey the in reverse)
By car it is on the A38 and close to A50, yes A38 can be a pig in rush hour but coming from Belper direction you would soon learn the back routes through Quardon etc that would completely avoid the queues (- the B road from Wirksworth is actually quicker than the A6 due to traffic) this applies to any location though, local knowledge on the traffic and alternaive routes is easily picked up over a couple of weeks so I wouldnt stress too much about traffic

Train into Derby not only option from the places you list – there is also the Transpeak bus from Manchester down the A6 that stops at the larger places.

Chesterfield may be a good base, large town, easy to get to Sheffield (car/bus direct regular and fast train – adjecent stops on the Scotland – london line), Mansfield (Sutton in Ashfield for Kingsmill hospital) – prob car or slow bus only, Derby (same train line but one stop in opposte direction) etc
Alot of people I used to work with live around there and takes them 30 mins to drive to M1 J27 and that is with the traffic mentioned above and M1 roadworks at present, SinA would be quicker – of course its easier to get out of a town in rushour than get in as you are heading opposite way to most traffic!
Also good riding straight from doorstep in Chesterfield, and some of the surrounding villages are quite nice (avoid the area to south around A38 – industrial and old mining legacy)

If she is a pharmacist then Boots are obviously based in Nottingham, would that be a potential employer? Remember though Notts is bringing in the workplace parking tax!

I had a similar problem, just needed to download the correct codec for the files the camera records in – check the spec/box etc it should say something like ".avi (Xvid codec)" then just google that and install the codec and mine then worked okay
I find WMM perfectly adequate and dead easy to use
I then use Vimeo to upload the vids

Notts very helpful with me today over a shock pump
Not sure about Treks but they have a few cannondales in – test bikes they swop around between shops so either branch can order the bike you want in from wherever it is currently at (they did that for me with the Pace RC405 coupel years ago)
Noticed they selling Lapierre now instead of Commencal, had a very nice spicy 516 in today
If you went Notts you could alos try Samways on Ashbourne Road in Derby (might not be open sundays) or Evans on Maid Marion Way in Notts or Freewheel in Hockley, Notts (again not sure on sunday opening) whereas not sure there is other shops around Daventry?

check the STW trails guide – 3 very good flattish routes on there – 2 at Ticknall nr Derby and one just south of Notts
Also good stuff around Belper (Chevin) area
Further afield maybe a loop of Carsington Water or Follow the Dog at Cannock?

    Week in Bansko last year
    Was spot on
loads of snow (its higher than Borovets etc – which have suffered last few years)
Fast lifts, not too many queues pistes where good & well groomed, fair bit of off piste too
Ideal for beginners and intermediates, advanced may get a bit bored but there is a snowboard park also (and Heliskiing etc)
Hotels are prob more basic than other places – we stayed in a 5* (Katarino Spa) would say more like a good 3* / average 4*
Food okay but not great but we eat in hotel all the time as it was a bus ride out of town
    Definately offers value for money
Oh and medical service was spot on, my wife broke her wrist on 3rd day, when we got back to UK our hospital said it was one of the best settings they had seen from a ski resort hospital
I would go back again definately
Good bar oposite the bottom gondola station, the band in there – snowdogs are pretty good
