mine froze until i downgraded to low quality feed and viewed in window rather than full screen. then it was more or less fine – froze couple of times but a quick refresh sorted it

just folded my Hope Pro2SP with Stans 355 on a very slow speed stupid crash at Cannock Chase.
I walked away without a scratch for once!
The sort of thing I really would have expected the wheel to be fine with
Wheel was almost new, only the 4th ride or so, (and first biggie)

ton, if you filmed and sent it to you've been framed you could make £250.00!

Must be worth more than that

one of my dogs died this morning
they are normally locked in the back but unknown to us a visitor left the gate open
I found him 100 yards down the road from my front gate
Vet said it was a heart attack but he also had large internal bleeding from a blow to his side

I cant believe this thread, is it just be me that thinks the idea of taking a pair of forks to bits just to install a sodding o-ring is utterly f**king nuts…seriously, utterly f**king nuts…..

OP, both you and your mate need a reality check, stick a cable tie on, do what you gotta do then take it off.

    Im with you dude
    No seriously I am
I wouldnt want not to be, way to angry to be on the wrong side of
You do have a point though, one I maybe made in a maybe subtler way earlier on

If it holds the man up on the parallel bars I am sure it will work here on a smaller scale.

    :D

"Surely there's something drastically wrong if it matters which leg you measure sag on!"

I think you have to reverse the leg for the rubber band for Pace and Manitou forks as the crown is at the back of the fork.

or just fit the forks back to front supermarket style

oh one final thing before this thread is officially over –
Make sure you put it on the right fork leg
It won't give a correct reading if its on the left ;)

why email tft etc and pay stupid money plus postage for a rubber band when someone has just told you to get an o ring from a plumbers merchant, they will prob give you a single one for free if you ask nicely!

Sometimes wonder why some people make such a big thing of the smallest easiest most pointless parts of biking. Dismantling a fork just to get sag right? Jeez sag will be the least of his worries when he has the fork in bits!

Use a zipties FFS it aint going to do any damage whilst you check sag
If an o ring was so important to him he shuld have bought rockshox not fox!

get rid of some of the dead wood (Ngog, Aquilani, etc)

you mean all that dead wood that Benitez bought in after selling the half decent players we used to have
How much money did he waste on players that came in, where crap and left after a season
Name one Benitez signing (with exception of Torres) who lived up to the pre-signing hype

    http://www.parkfarmhouse.co.uk/
is almost straight outside front entrance to DP but probably booked up that weekend

    prob next closest –
    http://www.beehivefarm-woodlandlakes.co.uk/

for a full list see here –
    http://www.lovecamping.co.uk/campsites/east-midlands
DP is in Leicstershire but with a Derby postcode, so any in North Leics, S Derby or NW staffordshire will be within spitting distance
If you want halfway between Donington and peaks then there is a couple on that list around Belper / Crich way, just beware the A6 though Belper is closed at weekends at the mo

there is a decent half days riding to be had straight from Donington ,around Ticknall etc – check the STW route guide for 2 routes, they can easily be extended
Cannock is 40 mins away, peaks 75mins, sherwood pines 60mins, ambergate/north derby area etc also has good riding – just join together bridleways of the OS map and explore

appreciate you have the right to roam in scotland but you may find the track is now classed as part of a construction site, therefore subject to H&S and CDM regs and closed to you and your bike
Agree with others too, dont think it will be much fun
A fully loaded concrete wagon can weigh around 40tonnes, they are also not off road vehicles, and lose grip on the slightest loose incline (trust me over the last 15 years I have had to dumper enough concrete up windswept scottish hillsides due to wagons not making it) if they can get up there the track cant be that rough, or that steep really.

    I have one
Seems really solid, have it bolted through the upright on the shed and nothing would remove it short of pulling down the shed
Piece of P*ss to install – just make sure you get it at right height and you have a chain long enough
Instructions indicate installing under a window so you can put the horizontal cross brace at the window level – I wouldnt then thieves can see you pride and joy. Mine is at opp corner of shed so someone looking through window cant see the bikes
Tidy job from the outside too, domed bolt heads countersink into the soft shed timber, I just creosoted over them when I did the shed and you would have to look hard to notice anything

I sent details to my insurance company and they where happy that it satisfyed their 'must be locked to immovable object' criteria for bikes stored in outbuildings

Fortunately it has not been tested in anger yet though

Is combined with a rape alarm rigged up to the shed door and 3 padlocks on the door
Of course a determined thief will get through pretty much anything but I would hope this delayed them long enough to put them off

Think there is a review and article on shed security on BikeRadar

    friendly, down to earth people

that also troll the chase trails website ;)

    iain1775

    Stu
cut off to left straight after top of that bit you like
after a while the trail splits, go left down a fun downhill bit and you come back onto a fireroad, turn right up there to get back near the big dip, do same trail again but take much less obvious right fork and you come out on top of the big sandy bank at the end of the fireroad section ready to start the switchback climb

agree with Coffeking, llandegla is better on my 100mm Commencal Ti hardtail than my Meta full suss
So is Cannock monkey, they are probably similar kind of trails

Trailrider Jim – is the path past the radio masts not a footpath and a bit sensitive due to nesting grouse?
(Doesnt personally stop me occasionally so long as it is not nesting season but not sure it should be advertised on such a popular forum)

there are 4 'major' switchback climbing sections. Not one of them longer than 8-10 minutes in length and not one is overly steep or difficult
I would take them over a 30 minute fireroad slog any day, at least they keep you thinking and need a little bit of skill to navigate round the tight corners whilst maintaining traction. Its alot better now than the opening weekend as alot of the loose material on the corners has been washed away
I find myself pushing a higher gear each time now as I get better, and that mental challenge makes the trail more interesting. Think I managed no lower than middle ring and mid cassette last time for the full lap, and Im not the fittest at the mo so singlespeed should be doable even for me
The climbs are well worth it for at least 4 or 5 really good swoopy flowing downhill (or slightly downhill) sections

The only downer is the fireroad half way round where the trail is diverted until the last singletrack section is completed, but thats not a prob for me as I know the cheeky diversion around it ;)
oh and the original monkey having been tamed, but the black section there is still being built so I will reserve judgement on that for now

    iain1775

the switchbacks are great, easy height gain in a high gear and more interesting than plodding up a boring fireroad (which was what we used to have to do to ride the original monkey)
Maybe they would be more fun Ti29er if you didnt ride a bike with clown wheels?

    the long straight uphills

    must be 2 llandeglas then?
After the first boring uphill slog to get to the start proper I cant recall any more
maybe in the darkness you turned left instead of right?

Oh no maybe not, then you would have been over the moors and on a proper fun ride rather than an average trail cantre bmx track

you could always get two 3mm allen keys and stick them together?

    iain1775

big coach screws should do the job of joining the sides together, like these –
    http://www.bolts-nuts-washers.com/coach%20screws.htm
Drill a hole (big enough to get the right sized long reach socket in) half way through one sleeper, hammer in bolt to get it started and then ratchet away
For joining them one on top of other drill a hole all way through each sleeper and hammer a length of steel bar through – Some old reinforcing bar, a road pin or something from a junkyard or a friendly local builder
If you dont want to drill through just drive a wooden peg or stake down inside the corner and bolt that to each sleeper

HBSM20H is that this one? –
    http://www.hopegb.com/voir_ADAPTMANAV.html

be careful not to mix it up with a Hope 'H' adapter as that is 183 post to post

you will need a 20mm bigger disc, so on front 74mm post mount forks I think[/i] that means a 180mm disc (based on the fact that I have a post mount Hope caliper mounted direct on my post mount forks and it runs a 160 disc)
