Tomahawk, I have the 2009 Commencal catalogue with it in, I will post up tonight
Be wary though it is different geo to the alloy Flame, more in line with Dan Atherton's Ti 4x bikeMarsden – definately a large, was out on mine last night and got thinking about it, woluld definately be better a little bigger with a shorter stem (I have 90mm at mo and bars rolled quite forward, with a layback post also)

excellent service, usually very very competitive on prices
used them serveral times nowiain1775Free Memberonce you have tried on, it may be a long shot but if your a size 9 I have a pretty much unused (worn once off the bike to walk dog around the park) pair of the high top ones
I didnt like em so looking to sell if your interestediain1775Free Membermarsdenman (and OP)
Im 5'10" with 32" inside leg
I have a mediumIt is small for a medium but I prefer my bikes a bit on the small side. It handles like an oversize BMX! I could maybe be better with large though. I got it a couple of years ago, it had been built up for a trade show and never riden, I only paid £600 for it back then.
Absolutley love it, hardly ever use the Meta anymore
Built up with SID's DT Swiss 240 / Stans Olympic wheels, XTR and Hope 160 Mono Minis it weighs in about 22.5-23lbsThe build quality is superb, best welding Ive seen on any ti bike, the wishbone stays and laser etched graphics are a work of art yet the whole bike looks very understated and never draws any attention
I havent gone with 120 forks yet but I do think it would definately be better with 120's on. Soon as I can get a pair 2nd hand at a decent price thats what I plan to do

It was exactly my justificatio for buying a Ti hardtail – "well the dog has some, so I need some"
It worked ;)
iain1775Free MemberHang on, he's not refusing access is he? Just not providing special facilities for ones that are too lazy to jump over a wall?
Some dogs cant just vault over walls, mine for example is anything but lazy but has £2k worth of titanium supporting her cruciate ligament after once fallng down from a style
Once she was a great dog, has been everywhere with us, up Snowdon, all over the lakes (including a 15 mile hike when we didnt realise her cruciate was gone)and Scotland etc, now we have to be really careful and limit her to about 3 hours gentle exercise max.
All because of a dodgy style that even humans would have struggled to get over that hadnt seen any maintenance for tens of yearsHaving said that Im not aware of any legislation that access has to be provided for dogs, in fact I would imagine quite the opposite
Im now quite used to lifting my 28kg Lab over styles or rooting around field boudaries for holes in fences and hedges to get her through. Its never really been too much of a problem (so long as you dont mind nearly putting your back out lifting up a wriggling, wet, dirty cow shit riden dog
iain1775Free Memberwhat are you actually after?
A racey Ti hardtail or something more 'butch'?
If former then I have Commencal Flame Ti, its amazing (sizing is small though), frame is superb quality, easy on a par with anything produced by Lynskey etc, the welds are immaculate. Quite relaxed geometry and just flies and really tempts you to ride above your ability
Can only take 100mm forks though (I reckon would be better with 120 as point it down and it just excels)
frame is currently only £650 or so at Freeflow Bikes, given rrp of over £1650 taht is an absolute bargain
Pretty exclusive too, only ever seen one other aroundiain1775Free MemberGeorge delivery charge £2.95.
so still 5p cheaper than buying in store
or was the mistake that you thought it looked anything other than a crap waste of finest Indian cloth?
iain1775Free MemberThe f*ckers will kill you to death
whereas other animals will kill you to somewhere else?
iain1775Free Membersure I recall an old interview with Kurt Cobain where he was wearing a Mekons T Shirt
iain1775Free Memberdone Lee on my 100mm travel hardtail, no problems, definately more fun with added bounce though
Would recommend though if its a windy blustery day maybe consider somewhere else, it gets quite exposed up there and a long way to go just to get battered by the windCannock green trail is very family trail, and passes some nice parts of the chase, plenty of cheeky tracks leaving off it too if you went for an explore and caught your missus back up
Having said that follow the dog trail at cannock is a very easy red, prob in line with blues at places like Glentress, she should manage that no problems. Monkey Trail is much more technicaliain1775Free MemberI did it last night
….unfortunately I was asleep at the time
iain1775Free Memberpeaks (The Peak) not far from stoke – 1 hour ish
you won't get better than there!
Lee and Cragg quarry and Gisburn only just over an hour
as others said Cannock is 30 mins, Llandegla prob just over hour
or for some fun jumpy stuff or a quick skills day there is always Hales Superbowl in Cheshire – http://www.mtbpursuits.co.uk/iain1775Free Memberglad to hear it sounds like I made a decent choice, considering all I know about computers is how to turn them on and what I learnt from the IT guys at work (CTRL,ALT,DELETE)
Anyone with experience of refurbed Dells?
Do they normally look like new or can they have scratches or marks on the case etc?
Also what could – "O/S MOD" mean, it wasnt detailed on the site spec, until I got the email confirmation with spec list??Now how best to transfer my settings etc from old computer to new one? (files arnt too much of a problem, I have most of them on an external drive already)
iain1775Free MemberSame spec was about £670 new
correct that I just actually built it up properly rather than trying to compare on website and it would have been £534
Still £120 saving is goodiain1775Free Memberthink this reconditioned Dell might be a bit better?

At least I hope its better, cause I just bought it
Same spec was about £670 newiain1775Free Memberreason it is noisy is because it has a Prescott 3.4 and they were notoriously hot running chips.
yeah my current machine has a Prescott chip, and it is quite noisy, got used to it now though
iain1775Free Memberbaby will prob sleep in your room for first 3-6 months anyway
we got one (top range Tomy w night light and temperature but only cause it was same price new on ebay than basic model in boots) and have never used it as a monitor, only nightlight – which is v useful in middle of night when you need just enough light to check baby but not too much for baby to suddenly be wide awake
video one would only cause undue paranoia in my opinion, but good for a security camera to keep eye on the bikes in garage when you never use it for baby :lol:iain1775Free Membercoming from peterborough time wise dark is prob best anyway as its closer off the M1 vai Sheff / Chesterfield
iain1775Free Memberas creg said you are unlikley to be able to play ps2 games (ps1 gamaes play ok on all ps3's though)
iain1775Free Memberwhereabouts you basing yourself?
Nothing is signposted, no specific bike trails but easy enough with a map and an idea of route
maybe check out http://www.monkeyspoon.comiain1775Free Memberat the huge signboard in a little clearing half way through section 8
(just before it starts to climb the switchbacks to the little wooden ramp)
One Giant flag points to Monkey, one points to FtD
Kind of hard to miss to be honestiain1775Free Memberyes excellent
not sure whats updated from first edition but highly recommend all of the Vertibrae Graphics books, they are all top quality
I have the book and CD for the White and Dark peak ones, CD very handy to print out pdf's rather than taking book out with you and getting it ruined
If you go on Vertibrae graphics website should be some downloadable pdf versions of selected routess from all their books (used to be anyway)iain1775Free MemberNorthwind – whatever compound I would have expected them to last more than two gentle descents down farm tracks (and yes I bedded them in etc)
The Discobrakes pads where shite.
Shite to fit
Shite in useiain1775Free Memberany particular reason Aidy why you don't have your email address visable in your profile information?
iain1775Free Memberperhaps not the best for someone to post full contact details for someone else (who may or may not be person concerned) on here
Perhaps a PM or email may have been a more appropriate way of sharing the information?
I would be pretty pissed off if someone did that to me for something that then apparently turns out to be reasonably explainable
Given the issue appears to be resolved for now would it make sense for mods to remove johni's last post?iain1775Free Memberprob pads, the standard discobrakes ones I had on my formulas lasted less than an hour in peaks grit
and that was after a right struggle to fit them (too thick)
learnt lesson on the really cheap pads now
most of them are all made in same place anyway and just imported and repackaged and quality control doesnt seem so good in my experience so people that say one cheapo brand is better than the other possibly just got a bad batch of one brandHave used both Hope Mono Mini and V2 brakes with both hope floating rotors and generic aftermarket fixed rotors (swopping wheels across various bikes) and never noticed any difference in performance from the different rotor
iain1775Free Membercan't read mtb magazines for this very reason. I picked up a What mtb in a cafe recently and was foaming at the mouth in mere seconds
that was the fancy frothy coffee you ordered not the mag, you should let it cool down a bit before first sip
iain1775Free Memberoh and forgot the issues a lad at work had when he ordered a cheap (piece of shit to be honest but thats besides the point) hybrid bike off them
Not sure it was winstanleys fault, more the courier but 4 times they got the delivery address and redelivery address / times wrong
Having volunteered to get it delivered to mine (we live 5 mins away from each other and the wife at time was on maternity leave so in the house all day) they messed it up twice, wife waiting on both occasions they couldnt deliver to our office as it was a different depot (despite being only 5 mins away and still same DE postcode)
Not winstanley exactly but would still put me off ordering anything big like a bike off them that needed signed for courieriain1775Free Memberuseless when i ordered hope brakes
didnt know difference between post and is mounts and took 6 weeks to arrive
5 weeks of that they were in their warehouse but they 'thought they were the wrong ones'iain1775Free Memberits a very tempting deal would it be gready of me to have one of these as well as my steel and Ti hardtails and full suss?
I 4 bikes, 4 materials too much?iain1775Free Memberits a lot more enjoyable when England arn't playing
(yes I am English)iain1775Free MemberHavnt riden 4 ages coz of homwurk got in truble at scool so culdnt even use intanet but now I can just nede 2 finnish homwurk but bike has punchar so nede 2 fix it 2 morrow then mayb ridding on sun or mayb wotching football if my mate is kene
would that be English 'homwurk'
iain1775Free Membercinamon – probably early / mid 2011
druidh – yes to ancient monument and seperate tracks also lots of helicopter construction round that areaiain1775Free Memberdo it quick
this time next year the area will be full of construction traffic for the new power line for the next 4 yearsiain1775Free Memberditto dmiller
plus I have completely lost my biking mojo and any type of energy I once seem to remember having
