still s8tannorm I had dura-ace bar ends before the STI’s (yep I changed my bike around alot experimenting) and they too where fine with XT mech / chainset
But it seems others may disagree as this is supposedly impossible 😉

Is same size as the 18 bikes / lizard skins normal sized ones, mine is on ti hardtail but is pulled tight and overlapped, but Ive seen them on alloy bikes too
Its not oversize for big full suss swingarms though

the rubber kinky logo is pretty good protector actually

STI Sora shifters with XT mech and Tiagra chainset works fine on my commuter (old Voodoo hardtail), before I switched chainset I had an XT (M760) on there and that was fine too
With both set ups there was some rub on big big and middle rear gears initially but got it sorted pretty easily after a couple of rides by just tweaking the H or L screws

Worked down that way couple years ago so know it reasonably well –

    Farmers Arms, Nottage
    Rose & Crown Hotel, Nottage

Yep both good, but 15 mins walk from centre of Portcawl

For food it has to be La Rochelle, an absolute little gem of a Spanish/Portugese/fish restaurant and the only place that kept me sane when I was there –
    9 Well Street,
    PORTHCAWL,
    CF36 3BE
    (01656) 782330

Our evenings (but this was when about 50 hairy arsed linesmen took over the town 😉 so by no means recommended for a quiet night out) used to be Anchor Bar (esplade and John Street – but we where staying above it anyway), The Waterfront, The Lifeboat, Jules Sportsbar and then Streets nightclub for a laugh at the butch lesbian cowgirls chatting up innocent tourists (long story)

its not single parents though is it?
its potential families where one earns £45k, and the other earns less (which could be as low as minimum wage for a part time job)

Ive just told the wife that as I am just into the higher tax band, whereas the wife is just below, we will be better off if she goes back to work and I give up
Hooray for the Conservatives, now I can palm sprog off with the grandparents and spend every day out on the bike instead of sat behind a desk 😆
(although I will loose the cycle to work scheme)

The bbc report said only households where one or both pays the higher tax rate. So two people earning 26k each would still get the benefit.

and thats where it seems flawed?
A household could jointly earn £86k and still get child support whereas one could earn £44k and not
It will push those families that have decided they could just about get by on a single wage, so as to bring their children up properly with mother interaction and discipline, back to work (incuring childcare costs – which are significantly higher in UK than elsewhere in Europe TJ) etc
I predict this will lead to a further increase in antisocial behaviour amongst the next generation, more ASBO’s, increased demand on prisons, which will further stretch resorces and cost more in the long run
eventually leading to Arnachy and global meltdown 😆

regardless of high/low tax & lifestyle arguments I cant help they are tragetting the wrong people
They should remove it completely for the 3rd + child
Its the people that have never worked a day in their life and pop out another kid just so they can get more benifits they should go after
There is a family round our way with 9 kids, they rake in about £55k in benifits and have 2 huge council houses between them

Did seem a hasty and ill thought out announcement though
2x£43k or 1x£45k – who gets, who doesnt?

It seems that in every episode the lady gets pregnant before the build is complete. Thank god this was a different storyline.

Nah your mixing Grand Designs up with Property Ladder and Sarah ‘big tits, bigger belly’ Beeny 😉

Very moving though, nice house and yep showed great character and all concerned including the tradesmen pulled off a good job in difficult circumstances

80gb one from just before they bought out the new slimed down version so not one of the old backwards compatible ones, but not the newest either

A lift this size is alway a contract lift

no its not, neither in UK or USA. Ive managed much bigger cranes / lifts myself.

First thing I can see is that the crane was in the wrong position making the out riggers ineffective

    no its not
would lift through 360 degrees anyway

tell you what though, the neighbours garden furniture must be visable from space!

cancel the policy and take out a new one, with them again!

My missus had to do this with M&S car insurance
saved £100 on her renewal quote for exactly same cover
When she phoned to cancel original policy woman on phone was quite rude, accused her of lying about the quote she had online!

    cancel and rejoin?

I think you'd have to wait for six months or something before rejoining.

    EDIT

    From the T&C

The definition of a ‘New Direct Debit’ this means a subscription that has lapsed by more than 3 months.

stuff the T&C's rejoin in your wifes/girlfriends/dog/hamsters name, use same bank details
Been doing it with other magazines for years now. Never had any problems
Whats the point in subcribing if there isnt a freebie incentive 😉

(my hipflask is still in the box in the back of the cupboard gathering dust, the THREE Altura TShirts MBUK sent me the other week however have all been used – first they sent wrong size, then wrong colour, finally on third try they got it right but never told me where to return the first two to)

I did this with my old Voodoo for commuting
Got all bits cheap from here or ebay cost next to nowt (about £70 I think but the stuff was very good quality, all pretty much as new)works fine, so dont understand what people up there ^^^ are saying, was alot cheaper than buying a comparible spec road bike!

    I –
fitted Shimano Tiagra road cranks and B/B (works fine with existing XT mech) to get a higher top gear
fitted cheap Ritchey drop bars, with a 60mm 6degree stem ran with 10mm of spacers underneath they are fine reach and drop wise for the frame, cost about £8 from CRC flood sale I think
Charge bar tape to match existing saddle
Shimano Sora STI brake / gear levers – ran with existing XTR V Brakes via Problem Solvers Travel adaptors
Specialised cross top secondary brake levers for when Im fighting through traffic and not on the drops of the bars
Still have the 26" wheels as frame doesnt have disc mount but running 1" slicks on them
Bike had rigid Pace forks already
Does me for commuting and is noticably faster than same journey on my MTB
Still offroad capable to some extent with knobblies on, it – say round FtD at Cannock or Sherwood Pines, along canals etc, easy stuff it is 'interesting' off road though

too many to mention but best was probably a brand new never riden (used at a trade show then dismantled) and already data-tagged Commencal Flame VIP Titanium frame
£800 for a frame that retails at almost £1800, (was pretty rare too at the time, shame they are heavily discounted at a couple of shops now though)
    Lovely bike too
Followed it up with building it up from ebay parts including a brand new £35 XTR rear mech, £65 XTR chainset (used but good), £50 brand new CK headset and £680 worth of handbuilt DT Swiss/Stans/Sapim CXRay wheels (with tyres) for £300
RRP on whole bike comes to £4.5k, cost me about £1.6k but I did sell some sh*t at extraordinary good prices that prob brought that down to about £900

ikea are crap, andodd sizes nothing fits, i had an oven housing and by the time I'd finished butchering it to fit in the standard sized oven pretty much all that was left was the shitty plastic legs, one of which promptly buckled
when we had our extension built we got possibly the last (Howden supplied) MFI kitchen dispatched and 2 years later all is still good
Fitted two Wickes kitchens in the inlaws house and they where also good
We have cheap B&Q carcasses in our utility room and they do the job
