I think steel Voodoo still in range but not imported to UK
    Bizango – http://www.voodoocycles.net/bizango.htm
There is an ebay shop though where you can get direct from Taiwan

Oh hark all you with your 3 year old before they went rubbish’ Voodoos 😉
My 1996 steel Hoodoo is still going strong, frame number 0036 and the first of the first batch that came into the country years ago (from sshockwave in Nottingham), in fact was thinking of converting it back for rigid MTB duties from its current drop bar commuter guise

Brilliant bike, may have to get rear disc mounts brazed on to bring it a bit more upto date, have run it rigid and with 130 forks no problems

doing it for my Nan next week
I feel it is an absolute honour
Im sure it will be one of the most difficult things I have done in life, but im determined I will do it, I owe her
Considering going to see her in the chapel of rest beforehand so I can say my goodbyes in private, hopefully that may make it a bit easier to deal with

good point made there, with high gloss tiles Im not sure I would do it myself
I did quarry type tiles so less regular and any imperfections are better hidden by the tile
The first time I tiled the floor was irregular, I levelled it as best we could with self levelling screed but it was still not perfect, I always knew where the three dodgy tiles where and although no one else could see them, I was glad when we replaced it all with an extension and I had a chance to try again!

I say get a man in, but see if grouting yourself makes it any cheaper.
Neat grout lines finish the job off but all that is needed is a little patience and a steady hand

(oh and sorry but not prepared to throw my tile cutter in the post with those tools, that really would push the postage up ;))

    Peter
I tiled similar area in my kitchen along with utility room and loo when we had extension done
Ok Ive done a bit of tiling before – kitchen floor, bathroom walls and floor and the new bathroom walls in extension
Took me 3/4 day to do tiling, but that included lots of cuts around doors etc in the utility room, downstairs loo
Kitchen only was straight forward, minimal cutting of tiles took only about 3-4 hours
Im by no means an expert but I would like to think Im reasonably competent, it was also a perfectly flat clean new floor and a simple rectangle shape that happened to be almost a perfect multiple of 30cm
Grouting then took me another couple of hours, but I left that over a year between tiling and grouting (it was a long bike ride in between!)
So all in all I would say its a full days work but needs to be spread between a couple of days just because of tiling and grouting

Maybe if you dont fancy risking messing it up, buying a decent tile cutter etc you could get someone in to tile, then do the grouting yourself
may also be cheaper if you provide materials, although our plumbers when we did extension let us use their trade discount at the tile place and it was about 40%, so a tiler may be able to get the tiles cheaper for you

The owner decided to name and shame his self.

to be fair he named himself but I don’t think he brought shame in any way. He came across as very profesional and reasonable
A damn sight more restrained than if it was me and someone was slagging my business off thats for sure!

But yeah agree Thread over now, its getting boring anyway

You ought to consider yourself lucky its not costing you more than that in the divorce courts!!

dunno about the back protector but the bag without it is okay, really comfortable and can carry a load of gear for a full day, but lacking in internal features / pockets / things to secure stuff to etc so if only half full stuff tends to rattle around
and the pocket for keys / change etc is behind the water bladder so difficult to get to without moving the bladder

I dont understand why travel agents are ‘a load of faff’ took me 5 minutes to set mine up both times Ive done it (2nd time was to insert crosstop levers)
Works perfectly and as powerful as they used to be on the mounatin bike with XT levers
(I have Sora STI units, XTR V Brakes with travel agents)

    Peter,
Ive got some cheapish ones as part of a tool kit I got a couple of years ago from Lidl. 32/36mm on the one spanner kind
Email me (in profile) and your welcome to them, they should be good enough for a while at least Im unlikely to really use them at all so they may as well be donated to a good home

Id be more impressed if they just showed the whole country rather than scrolling round so I very quickly get on the very corner of the screen to see what the weather WAS like in Derby at 3am!
Non licence payers in Ireland get more weather information than us in the Midlands

lets get back to the matter in hand. How much fart would it take to safely land a 747 with failed engines?

given that once the engines fail, everyone on board shits themselves and as we now know that

As the methane content of a fart is lighter than air, the captured gas contributes to keeping the plane airborne

It follows that it ought to be physically impossible for a 747 with failed engines ever to crash

best keep that statistic to ourselves, if word gets out people won’t be scared of crashing anymore and that has the inverse effect that the planes with failed engines could crash again

My head hurts now, maybe its methane poisoning

You really need to stop believing the tabloids on this

I havent read a newspaper in years TJ
and I certinaly don’t generally believe the rubbish they write

    I do however have a child…….

    iain1775
    Free Member

Unless you were a child before records began then TJ can know, because less and less children are abducted each year. LOGIC FAIL.

I said the world was not as safe
I didnt say it wasnt as safe because of number of children abducted
there are many more things that affect how safe the world is for a small child than the likelyhood of being abducted
Not all are recorded in crime figures either
For example I could happily play in the street as a child, I couldnt leave my child to play in the street, way too much traffic nowadays

And actually given the lobour government changed the way crime figures are reported, the ‘records’ are not exactly a like for like comparison are they?

As for comparing putting your kids in a car to leaving them unattended – what kind of supid comparison is that?
When I drive my daughter anywhere I strap her into the best car seat I could get and I take every precaution possible to ensure her safety. yes I cant account fot the actions of others but I have done everything in my power to reduce the risk of harm…. Hardly similar situation is it

I thought it was a vintage season
then again I watched most of the races at 12x speed on Sky+

    iain1775

this is simply untrue. Its what the tabloids would have you believe but its not supported by anything factual

given you don’t know WHEN I was a child I don’t see how you can confidently be sure of that 😉
It is kind of irrelevant though as regardless of the world situation I agree xcompletely with the previous poster who has summed it up very nicely, its just something I would never even consider doing
