3% according to the owners club

Where did you read that figure?

Soooooooooooooooo Atherton on Saracen next year?

Nope but Saracen should be announcing a downhill team shortly

I also understand that another ditributor has possibly already stepped in to distribute Commie but thats all Ive heard at the moment, just a rumour
The Madison split nothing to do with the cracking issues, just them wanting to concentrate more on own brands like Saracen etc

I recently downloaded the memory map app to my iphone and transferred all my memory map OS mapping over to the phone
I know is no real comparison to a standalone GPS unit but if the MM app is anything to go by the user interface is quite user unfriendly and not the easiest to navigate round. I would hope their GPS units are easier to use as I also got that email and was tempted to trade in the old Garmin Edge 205 as I would get £85 off, which is way more than the Edge is worth secondhand

If they ever turned this forum into a soap opera it would be just like the Botton workshop scenes in that documentary

absolutely nothing wrong with Botton it’s a great place
You would have lovely neighbours the people there are fantastic

And the Channel 4 documentary “Botton, the strangest village in Britain” is still a great watch, not meant to be funny at all but it is

Seriously though before anyone comments Im not taking the p.. its a great place, doing great work and the people there are lovely but perhaps not the best place for a holiday let though

lovely part of the world, by brother lives in Skelton
Saltburn is okay, nice enough but would have to compete with Whitby for ‘seaside’ tourism
Great Ayrton always looks nice when Im driving though on way to see my brother but its pricey
Guisborough is okay too – 15 mins from coast and on edge of moors, biking on doorstep
You could always get a holiday property in Botton 😉

the 205 is identical to the 305, it just doesnt have the heart rate and cadence functionability but the GPS guts of the two are identical
I would say neither are very good for navigating round at Cannock – two many trails not shown on OS maps so you would struggle to plot an initial route let alone follow it on the ground, also limited by the amount of ‘waypoints’ you can import so rides with lots of turns and directions will be a struggle
It may get you home when lost though as it plots your route you can zoom out and see what general direction you should be heading in to get back to start point. This would still need some degree of orientation and general navigation skills to relate to tracks on the ground though

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_3

    BRAVIA Sync XMB control (CEC)
    Slimmer form factor
Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio bitstreaming[4]
    DualShock 3 controller
    No LINUX support

so apart from controller type nothing you would really notice unless you have posh telly and fancy soundsystem or that hasnt been addressed by system updates to yours anyway
If you just want a bigger HDD its apparently really easy to fit a new one and transfer data across

I could tell you the best time to end auction to attract attention of all of us over here on the African continenet but first I would need you to send me your bank account details so we can make payment immediate upon time of auction
thanking you for your interest in selling iphone to me

(make sure you state selling UK / Europe only, and block bidders with low feedback, personally I wouldnt bother selling a phone on ebay any more, way too much hassle)

I hope you dont use your phone whilst riding 😀

TBH Im sure its good but sounds more like a lucky coincidence, council highways departments never work that quickly

nope, I echo what the others have said, plus my 205 unit is not very good round Cannock, the trees are too tickly packed and GPS signal is unreliable at times as a result
great as a training aid and for plotting where you have been but not good for navigation, very easy to miss the turn directions on the screen

if you fancy Greek then the best resaturant in the world (in my opinion) is Stelios and Saphinas on London Road in Derby
They will do a meat or fish mezze, but if you want certain fish things best to let Andreas know in advance.
The slow cooked lamb is also superb (Kleftiko)
Some of best Greek / Cypriot food Ive tasted (and we have spent a fair bit of time in Cyprus)

    Pubs –
    The Bubble at Stenson,
The Blue Bell at Langley Common (B5020 just off A52 at Mackworth)
    The Mundy Arms, A52 Mackworth
The Dog Inn at Pentrich – and you have the opportunity to say the infamous line – we are all going Dog’inn 🙂 is more upmarket
The pub on Main street in Tutbury is also reasonable

Curry (huge menu all sorts of spicy/non spicy, fish etc) – Melbourne Arms, Melbourne

Damons – mentioned above at the Cricket Ground in Derby is long gone into Administration (it was awful anyway)

dont think so. The V2’s have a deeper braking surface
The pads might catch on the spider / sawtooth edges
You can get 183mm floating V2 / Moto rotors though

mount to top tube at headtube junction with velco flap and use clip and buckle round the down tube
I wouldnt put battery on handlebar, its more out of the way on the frame
(I assuming battery is same for the Fibeball as it is for your Firefly)

Excellent lights they are, Im very impressed with mine so far

I was going for Basketball and MTB, (and wife wanted Netball if it was an exhibition sport this year) but the vast majority of ticket prices are silly, and combine it with getting to and staying in London for 2 adults and a child its sadly not going to be worth remortgaging the house for
Shame because its probably a once in a lifetime event but yet again rip-off Britian strikes

would have though someone called postierich would be grateful for CRC putting business your way, or are their stupidly oversized packaging materials giving you a bad back?

At least I know when Im selling something big on ebay, I can order a powerlink or some inner tube patches from CRC and get a big box for free to send my ebay goods off in
CRC – offering value for money bicycle parts and assisting with recycling

my white Twitch frames make me look like a complete tit, in a kind of Dan Atherton esque way. Think I may sell them on if anyone interested?
The wifes Athemyst though are superb on her, came with the big hard case and are perfect. Absolute bargain at £30 for a £160 pair of glasses. She is looking into prescription lenses for them now

+1 for the Fireball, got mine from Spokeshirts for £130
Could have got cheaper but worth it for his excellent customer service, fast delivery, UK charger and warranty

Comes with helmet and bar mounts

Light itself is very solidly built, extremely bright and a good spread
1100 lumens, seems noticably better than the DX Extreme Magic Shine lights

Combined with my old 350 lumen Niterider Minewt on the helmet its ace

I just got some scaffold boards (from local reclaim place) and knocked some up in minutes
    £13 for a brand new treated 18′ board I think, cut into 2 6′ and 2 3′ lengths

neighbour used some old reclaimed decking boards, mine looks much better and has lasted longer 😉

no with hindsight I agree now that sending silly questions is childish waste of everyones time and reflects badly on me

….so instead Ive reported the listing to ebay stating that it is misleading and against ebay selling policies due to falsly inflated advertising of RRP for the parts and I included a link to the frame for sale at On One website as evidence of this

we will see if it get removed

Maybe Im being a bit picky but for me his advert left alot unanswered –

    Hello mate
I have a few questions about your bike if you don’t mind-

1 – You say the parts are waranted, who is it that has a warant out on them, is it the police, MI5, KGB or FBI?
Should I worry about this, is the bike kosher?

2 – I currently have the same ‘unique’ wheelset on my other bike, I see you investigated during the wheelbuild process, is it easy to rebuild such a ‘unique’ wheelset, can you supply instructions? (I will gladly pay RRP for this item if its not included already)

3 – A 32 front ring on a single set up is not really what I would want, could you fit a 34 or maybe swop the chain guide for a double set up for the same price? (you could keep the chainguide, it doesnt look much use to me set up like that)

4 – can you provide exact weight in EU recognised metric units please?

5 – Can you likewise provide weight with pedals of my choosing?

6 – “TYRES. MAXXIS IGNITORS 26 X 2.1 LUST £94.00” can you clarify – is this per tyre or for two

7 – I see you have listed cable iners and outers, can you confirm the cables have end nipples fitted to prevent fraying? This is not clear from your pictures

8 – can you provide a breakdown of your hours to complete the build so I can justify the additional £200 quoted on RRP to the bike to work administrators at my employer (You do take bike to work vouchers I assume?)

    9 – can I have a test ride?

10 – could you substitute Runnin Gin for Gordon’s. I much prefer Gordon’s Gin

11 – ehm appologies as it may be a bit obvious this one but what ARE your normal shop hours?

12 – can you send overseas? (I am currently in Nigeria and would also be interested in any mobile phone you may have for sale)

13 – can you send me your bank account details and password so I can transfer the money?

ah so thats where my GCE metalwork project ended up
Its worthless, sentimental value only, can I have it back please

I’ll bet that the £3 3D glasses we used at the cinema last weekend are no less durable.

Tinners you ride faster in 3D specs too, and the drops are bigger
You do however look a tit

2 pairs sat at my post office, grr cant get them until Friday

StS – I used to use Steptoes for my lenses but I dont think they do Oakley anymore, best bet is an ebay seller, just use an established shop with good feedback for Oakley, or maybe try the same place you got glasses from
    Night ride – clear
    overcast – yellow permission

It looks about as good a £350 Commencal one of my neighbours bought last year.

It doesnt look that good 😉

But why not put a dropper post on a carbon LT hardtail? – personally I would rather that than sliding a post up and down getting grit and whatever inside the carbon frame every ride

Serious attitude problem, I may have to fire some questions across to wind him up a little

The climb before the nice swoopy bit takes 10-15 mins?

    10-15 mins???
Are you riding a Unicycle, backwards?
no climb on Monkey is more than 10 mins, even for me

The majority of the trail is follow the dog though

    FtD is 7 miles
    Monkey is also 7 miles

FtD is quite flat and boring, apart from the last new section through Tackeroo which can be fun but is badly cut up on the berms now. Personally though I also find huge chunks of Monkey boring as well now, apart from Upper and Lower Cliff, the switchback climbs and the cheeky link I use to cut out some fireroad
The whole section after the first Monkey downhill and back to Lower Cliff is just padding really, including the original Monkey Trail section
(but then Ive riden it probably about 20 times already this year)

Shining Cliff – Midshires Way @ Blackbrook – Chevin – Milford – Drum Hill and work way back on minor roads to Belper

High peak trail out to Long Dale / Gratton Dale and return via Winster and Grangemill

    Both involve some road work

Monkey is far from ‘flat’ (Dog is flat, Monkey has a fair bit of elevation)

Ok its not epic hills but there is 4 decent switchbacked climbs, short but quite sharp
Was there Saturday, conditions are okay, lots of braking bumps everywhere, bit muddy in parts (mainly on older Dog sections) but generally okay
The local stones used in the surfacing are really slippy though especially at the moment, I was struggling for grip in places, makes it a bit more exciting

Birches Valley – £3 parking all day, cafe, toilets, Swinertons bike shop, bike wash, visitors centre, go-ape, official start to trails

Marquis Drive – £2 parking (or free on verge), cafe (better cafe than Birches in my opinion), toilets, joins onto last section of FtD trail

Style Cop – No facilities, start of all downhill trails

Oh and gets quite busy at weekends, especially round Birches Valley sections

…but the M4’s take a normal floating rotor, the Moto/V2 has its own specific floating rotor – the braking surface is significantly deeper, hence increased weight

If Elmo saw him normally he’d poo his pants, roll on his back and stick his legs in the air……..but in that hat he reckons he’d have him.

Elmo is a dog who is scared of everything, top of the list at the moment is bird scarring banging things

your dog wears pants. Now that is stupid

I thought Caliper was the same only the lever was updated to the tech
You can certinaly run floating rotors on the older Moto V2
I would be suprised if V2’s with braided where same weight as M4’s – does that include rotors, the V2 rotors are heavy

That said my green V2’s are nice brakes (and not for sale 😉 )
