Well I’ve still not read the last 2 months mags so the way I’m going it will be April by time I read that article so by sounds of it I’ll get it in context, did see the pics though and they inspired me to ride tomorrow so that’s good
I agree biking is biking whatever size of wheel, trail centre, natural or road all have their time, place and function, I’m just glad I’m physically able to ride whenever I can around whatever commitments I have. surely no one not even stw can argue with that ??

Why drive nearly 2 hours each way (and presumably have to cross Humber bridge) and pay £7 or whatever it is now on the forest drive to do 2 laps of a trail centre when you could so a proper ride in peaks only 45 minutes away?
Use the saved travelling time for a longer ride. In 5 hrs from scummy you could do an pretty long and decent route around hope/ladybower, just search Internet for routes, the trails are so well trodden it’s pretty hard to get lost anyway

These pulleys should outlive your bike

That’s alright then, when my bike goes to cycle heaven I’ll just sling my leg over the remaining jockey!!

On an aside why do you often have to request a vat reciept at alot of petrol stations, most of the ones I use don’t give them out automatically, just your credit card counterfoil or a reciept with no vat number on
Far as I know it’s only petrol stations that do this shops restaurAnts etc have vat number already on their receipts?

And claiming the vat back is correct, doesn’t have to be for correct amount of fuel for the business trip the compNy will sort that out according to employees milage returns

I wonder if contadors mechanic knew when he stripped the grease out and changed to ceramic bearings (according to bike radar article) that he could possibly kill his rider / drug cheat

I think if I came up to some lights and saw some old mad troll wearing jeans round his ankles and riding a bike of Tupperware, cutlery and stickytape I would do the Ribble wibble and shoot off pretty sharpish too

Head to hockey / lace Market area
From Market square walk down lhs of council house and up a slight hill (pelham street) there is a place on right and another on the left don’t know what they are called (I’m no longer notts local but live in derby) bit I’m sure you will see them I think one on right is called homemade, nice little independent cafe
Dunno what time it opens but the food is great all local produce and caters for all food allergies/lifestyles etc
    They do some good breakfasts

So how big is MF’s penis I just read 4 pages and am none the wiser what car he drives? all I’ve learned is stuff I already know, dealers are expensive and Audi drivers are cocks
What a waste of my time
Btw I drive a Hyundai if my alternator goes in 5 years it’s replaced free of charge under warranty 😉

I guess I may be about to become fashionable for the first time then because I’m booked on in august
    Why?
Because I’ve been riding with lots of people better than me for last two years now, I’ve learned alot and improved but I sometimes feel it’s a fluke, and I’m struggling to get rid of bad habits I know I have that just feel natural now I just need someone to inspire some confidence in me, and I think it’s a small price to pay if it helps me enjoy my riding more, I don’t want to go faster, higher or more gnarr, (that would be a nice side effect) I just want to have more fun doing what I like doing and I think a skills course will help with my mental state right now

maybe they are keeping the pics of the big mountains for the AM’s bigger yellower Meta brother 😉
Seems a confused Meta & Supreme range from Commencal in 2012. Exciting and good looking, but a fair bit of crossover and with old and new designs still around

Codswallop from wallop above, I get £6100 a year and 14p a mile
It’s easily enough to run my car, I will have paid it off from my allowance in 6 months (loan was taken over 3 years) keep it for another 12 months after than pass it onto the wife
Don’t forget you can claim extra milage allowance upto 45p (as of may this year) back as a tax adjustment and also that you wil pay alot less tax than on a compNy car and fuelcard
The milage payments generally pay for my fuel with a bit left over (costs me on average 11p a mile in fuel) to save for servicing tyres etc, the allowance pays of the loan, insurance and rest of routine servicing tyres etc and the tax adjustment helps cover a fair bit of my private milage fuel costs
Since opting out I am far better off, probably by around £500-800 a year plus I own the car
But like anything I guess it depends on want you want to run
Look into it and budget well and it can work, decide you want to runaround in a fancy guzzling 4wd or sports car and it will cost, for me like for like it worked out better but I slightly downgraded with view to making a bit of cash on the deal

Well after just short of 3 hours we all board the plane, sit there for 20 mins pilot comes on they cant start engines so have missed the take off slot, next one promised by flight control in Brussels??? Is at 10pm (another 2 hours) bit we can’t let you off, we are negotiating and enjoy the 38degree heat because with no engines or back up we have no air con, but air hostess will be round with a thimble full Of warm water in about 10 minutes!!
Finally in air at 9pm, over 4 hours late, in hotel by 11.30. Not bad really, wish I didn’t have that cheese sandwich though, I’ll have nightmares tonight now and I could do with a gOod nights sleep to make sure I’m fresh for giving BMI a nice phone call tomorrow

    No no no avoid
I had one, lasted ok, about 14 months but when I came to remove it after it developed a creak (it creaked intermitantly from new) it just crumpled and came out in pieces the shell cracked and I was very lucky it didn’t get stuck and ruin a very expensive titanium frame
The shell seemed very thin and quite fragile and obviously with hindsight quite brittle too
It was instaaled correctly, I had cleaned all the threads, applied copper grease and tightened correctly with a torque wrench, frame was also faced
Mine came with plastic spacers not alloy but that hadn’t bothered me as I reused some old alloy ones anyway
It may have been a one off fault but personally I wouldn’t risk it again when a perfectly adequate shimano one can be got cheaper

Train to Falkirk, Stirling or Cumbernauld or somewhere round there (have no idea on trains from Edinburgh) and ride to carron valley
Train to Perth, kinoul hill if you want some little downhill action
2nd pentlands though seems silly to get train or ride for miles when it’s on doorstep

Agree with scaredy other than pigs arnt dirty, one of cleanest animals there is, used to have a pig she would get really upset every morning if her sty wasn’t mucked out, she always had a routine of going toilet in same place (she left me though for another man, but I’m over it now)
I too think cows have expressive eyes, but thats all, thwy are just cows, they have lovely rumps too though, I prefer mine medium rare ideally as part of a mixed grill with a bit of nice clean piggy

but then I said that in my email to you already 😉
When are you up this way?
If you are set on south peaks then bakewell is a far better base than Ashbourne
Ashbourne is antique shops and the Tissington Trail
Bakewell at least has some decent trails and tarts

you will be able to get pads and canti parts easily enough, plenty of cross bikes run them
Vees are significantly better though (even when cantis are set up right)
You may need to check cable routing though as I had to modify my old ’96 Voodoo and ziptie a full outer to the frame for the rear
