@xiphon – spelt is NOT gluten free, it’s just another type of wheat.

Small people have small stomachs and strange metabolisms. So if he’s eating something (weetabix and milk) and still growing and putting on weight, relax.
If you want him to eat a more balanced diet, why not try leaving out snack bowls of healthy treats (with a few choccy buttons mixed in). We have found that ours never eat well when absolutely ravenous (+1 leffeboy).
+1 for getting him cooking, playing with food is great too, e.g. make and eat models from raw veg and a few cocktail sticks.
Don’t stress at mealtimes – don’t give him stuff you know he won’t eat, and offer a simple alternative if the meal turns out to be wrong.
    Ahh! The joys of parenthood…

Radium is an alpha emitter, which is nasty up close but the particles are stopped by air and metals easily. It decays to radon which is a gas, so as long as the ventilation is good it wouldn’t be much above background.

You don’t leave it to change pads until the putting back plate to disc, or tyres until they go right through to the tube…

    errr… 😳

The Unite rep on C4 news was complaining about how long the factory had had an uncertain future. The same guy on BBC was saying how they struck best best deal possible and saved the factory. Editors have a lot of power to influence the way you think about individuals and the story…
Still – it’s good news for the workers here (less good for those at Opel in Germany).

No doubt that only a few teams have the resources to buy in the quality players, but they have to be the right players, playing the right tactics and have a lot of luck.
This is much closer to the truth.[/url]

Man City vs Newcastle cost of team £122 million
Swansea vs Man U cost of team £120 million

It really is silly saying City bought the league.
    Carroll £35m
    Torres £50m
    Aguero £38m
Some transfers work out better than others…

Binners – You’ll find that Man City fans have been complaining about the Red obsession of the media since 1968.

    Man City won the title.
Everyone else didn’t – that is all.

Got fed up with BBC News reporters at the open-top bus parade blathering on about the Stretford team. We all know how biased the media are.

The investment in the training ground and Academy does suggest that the Sheik is in it for the long term…

Losing to Lincoln City seems a long way in the past.

Yep, it’s like totally ripped off from the mountain bike slang dictionary that was on the interweb 0.1 back in the day. Those dweebs are just so old…
and I can’t believe that they missed that the low hanging branch was a banana catcher or to use auger instead of face-plant…

As above, a firm “NO” and remove your hand, followed by another “NO” and ‘game over’, get up, turn your back and walk away. Puppies hate to be ignored (generally).

same ratio all year, same mud tyres all year. I made the mistake of changing the tyres one year for ‘summer’ and had to swap them back again in a couple of weeks.
Geared for the few days a year that its dry and dusty…

I friend of mine got a recumbent for his son for similar reasons. A trike might be another option.
    Good luck.

If someone had told me 15-20 years ago that City were top of the table and had won two derbies in a season, I’d have thought they were a Stockport County fan having a laugh.

I still miss the bitter sweet feeling I got knowing they’d loose to Grimsby Town…

    +1 for shorter cranks.
My lad is obsessed with his gears and likes nothing more than slamming it into the big ring at the front and smallest on the back on flat sections and zooming off.

don’t forget Giro have a crash replacement offer which gets you a discount off a new lid in return for the old broken one.

I have a theory that there is a right wing media conspiracy to discredit health and safety at work so that we can get back to profitable third world/Victorian conditions. After all, why would anyone want to go to work and go home the same day without a life-changing injury or illness?

I had that thought as soon I found they came out with 3G. Perfect for those “I’m on the train!” shouty moments. 😆

It could work with a top tube mounted child seat but not a rear one as the trailgator clamps to the seatpost.

Yes, no leaning problems yet, old innertube to prevent damage. Little one loves it and I can feel when she’s pedalling. Got ours 2nd hand.

My son has ukulele lessons at school – the whole class playing Wild Thing! It’s a fun instrument and easy to switch from guitar.
Tips – learn to tune it properly – then the chords will sound fine.

    article here
History has it that many of the original trespassers cycled to Kinder to protest. Why not do the same, but take your bikes on the protest? It would highlight that those who originally set out to open up the countryside to everyone (especially the proletariat) have been subverted by others trying to reserve the land for their idea of recreation i.e. walking. You could get a few column inches that way.

This happened to me on the A65 on Sunday. Car approaching flashed twice at me and the car in front (both doing 60ish in a 60 zone). I was puzzled why until I saw the police car which was completely not hidden in a lay-by on a straight stretch of road, presumably to deter the Sunday bikers from silliness. Anyone driving so fast that couldn’t slow down and was still be speeding from the point they spotted the PC to reaching the trap would deserve to be banned in my book for “failing to spot the police”.

There is also evidence that segregated space for cyclists can simply move the accidents to junctions where the routes cross with other traffic. It certainly makes people feel safer and so more likely to get on a bike, but the obvious answer isn’t always correct.

The mudguard is strapped to a pair of £900 forks, so it looks cheap by comparison.

    Is the correct answer!
Attached to £900 forks on a £2-3K bike with £50+ tyres, stopping your £100 Oakley goggles getting scratched, and allowing you to win/enjoy a downhill race that you spent ££s getting to and staying at.
    It’s all relative isn’t it…

I’d call off the ride (or divert) if I thought that there was a good chance of it ending with a rescue from the Mountain Rescue Team. So that depends on the route, weather, and level of experience of the riders.

My commute is 25 hilly miles each way. I don’t do it everyday by any means due to work and family commitments but if I had the time I’m sure I could. I’d start building up from alternate days to every day, or ride in one way, leave the bike at work and public transport home and reverse the next day. Also have a back-up way to get to work for days when you can’t fancy it.
At first any savings on fuel, parking or train tickets may be offset by the bill for lunch though.

Ghetto packaging – I had a parcel-taped bin bag and reused jiffy bag this week from one of the less well mentioned retailers (Parker International). Why pay more…?

I have used squirt on a previously white lightening epiced chain without degreasing first (shoot me!). The first application went on OK and the chain is running fine. It might produce a bit more black gunk initially though. The chain was fairly clean though. I really rate it and must buy some more soon.

I’ve done it twice but not this year. The weather is set to be glorious but it will be cold at the start line. It’s a hard ride, but the views will be spectacular…enjoy!
