Would have had to get off the internet first though, broadband did not come to the UK until 2000.

To be honest the upgrades are not that much of an upgrade from a second hand buyers perspective, Deore are the entry level brakes, the riser bar is someting you can get very cheap from another stock specialized bike after someone upgraded, and the Wellgo pedals are V8 copies. Plus a bottle cage adds very little if no value.

Sorry to sound blunt but the bike it is not worth that much without heavy upgrades.

So I would say about £400 – £450 if it is in a good condition is fair.

I have been told that they target areas where people are less well off, so lower working class over more affluent areas.

This is due to poorer people being more likely to donate to charity.

Which explains why they are always on my street, which is mainly populated by people who work in warehouses.

I would say Death from above 1979 but they left on a great album then reformed and released a mediocre album.

If you are anywhere near Yorkshire the 2019 demo fleet are going to JE James cyclefest at Rother Valley on 6th October.

You can try one first hand.

Two of my bikes had rear rims that leaked at the seam weld, it stopped when I added sealant.

I ride my bikes hard and I weigh about 90kg currently and they are fine, so yeah I would trust the rims.

    Could be a bait/trap bike.

Tell your wife to check the wardrobe or under the bed.

Bufallo Bill might be hiding there.

@greavo to be honest I would be worried about escalating the situation given they are in a couple of tons of metal and I am on a bike. All it takes if a quick swerve after the green light and they can claim sun in their eyes or something.

Best case scenario a punch up at the lights since these people seem to be driven by impressing their woman through violence and doing stupid s***

Just saying, if it was me it would have probably ended in me swearing at them and then quickly jumping a red light when he got out of the vehicle and started walking towards me.

“Really bad that a frame so new from a uk company is effectively obsolete in terms of spare hangers already.”

Well it is On-One we are talking about.

The problem lies with who might occupy the site, I grew up around a traveller site and it was always 50/50 to how well the occupants behaved.

Usually if the traveller kids nicked your bike or beat you up you could go to their parents and they got dealt with, but when the good travellers started finding accomodation elsewhere thats when the ***hole travellers moved in.

Constant threats from the adults, constant crime they even encourage the kids to go out stealing or vandalise vehicles coming to use the stables at the bottom of the lane.

So yeah my biggest concern would be that they use the quarry as a means to steal peoples bikes. If you do get the latter moving in it will become a personal motorbike/quad track within a week.

I have gotten “thats my bike” shouted at me a few times by some skinny, shirtless I can safely assume jobless guys with more tracksuits than teeth. When I occasionally ride through town.

I assume they think someone will tackle me and he can get away with my bike.

I would say it depends on who is asking the question whether they are thinking about stealing it or just curious as to what you can get for your money. It is more likely they think “that looks expensive” and ask to satisfy their curiosity.

    Honda Accord

    Mazda 6

Owned both of these and they easily fit my XL 29ers in the back, and had no complaints about space from passengers.

Put a backpack on with a pillow inside for cushioning.

I too am planning on learning to wheelie next week, fed up of kids requesting it and shrugging it off as if I am too cool for that.

The truth is I never could wheelie.

Have you considered a Fox Proframe? No removeable chin but they are super vented and light with MIPS and can be had for £125 at the moment.

I have a LEATT DBX 3.0 and would recommend that, really comfortable and the chin guard is easily removed.

When the chinguard is removed it does not look odd at all like the Giro does (in my opinion)

Also the magnetic buckle system is the best buckle system I have ever used especially while wearing gloves.

Mark: [voiceover] A new boiler. Surely the least enjoyable way to spend £1000. At least throwing the money out of the window you’d see the scrabbling mass, the hate-filled faces. I have spent a cool grand on acquiring the resumption of an equitable temperature.

Jeremy: Yeah, too right, I’m freezing. Let’s whack it up to 29.

Mark: 29 degrees, are you insane?

Jeremy: I don’t actually want it to be 29, but you’ve got to give it something to aim for. It’ll get hotter quicker.

Mark: No, it won’t, it’s either on or off. You set it, it achieves the correct temperature, it switches off.

Jeremy: Oh sure, you set it to 23, it’ll be pootering along, “Oh yeah, 23, easy. Yeah, nearly there.” Wouldn’t you rather “F***! 29? Christ, let’s get cracking, gotta generate some serious heat!” Then when it hits 23, we’re suddenly all like “Click. Sorry. Already there.” And the boiler will be like “What the f***?”

Mark: You want to try to trick the boiler?

Do what you want, nothing wrong with some colour, it makes it more interesting out on the trails not seeing the same “stealth” bikes rolling around

Be warned though, if you go down the colour route then people will expect you to get lairy.

So if you are a bit slow and walk down technical stuff then be as inconspicuous as possible.

Could just rent a box, will work out loads cheaper.

Bikeboxalan can be hired for as little as £30 a week. And my 29er XL marin fit in one fine.

Little spray bottle with water, spritz him if he even looks at the stairs the wrong way.

Eventually you can just make a hissing noise and he will crap himself.

And they do take cards now, I went in May with a pocket full of change and found they even do contactless payments now too.

I have used SEE ticket lots of times and they never asked me for ID. But I think it is down to the venue and if it is a massive gig where they have that policy in place you might be out of luck.

I usually buy the tickets for me and my mates or brother, and my name is on all of them. Never been asked to prove who I am before.

Had something similar using mytyres too, booked them to be fitted with ATS Euromaster, when I got there, “nope not seeing a booking”

I showed him the confirmation on my phone so he started clicking around on the computer and finally found it, probably in the spam folder or something.

I pretty much do that exact job now but for a chain of bike stores, I get paid considerably less that 19- 25k.

At the end of the day you are getting paid for your creativity, it is  fun but can be very taxing too especially when you need to come up with new content day after day, or plan content a month in advance. You would not think it, but mentally it is very draining.

I have some of that Peaty’s sealant, I burprd the rear tyre in the Dales on Sunday and now it looks like a unicorn has jizzed on my rear tyre. It has dried in the sun and I could not wash it off, might have to get the jet washer on it.

At work tomorrow so will miss it. Also live in Doncaster over the other side of the park to where the fanzone is.

Not going to travel out to catch it, I am not that into road cycling really.
