Good question, depends whos looking after your pride and joy. I couriered my last lot when sent to Mojo (interparcel.co.uk) and it only cost a few more quid than the POffice and you get to choose your insurance

Isnt it about time that the name Mountain Mayhem actually meant what it said rather than some mudddy bumps in southern England
A Peaks venue would have been better (there are some bigger bumps there at least) and its central England.
Think I’ll save the cash this year… :(

Get your GF products on pre-pay prescription if you doctor will oblige this. This will cost you £120 a year and you can get FRESH bread, pasta, crackers, flour, bread mixes and part baked rolls. Mrs Hydrophil does this and every 4-6 weeks gets a 12 box of bread and the other stuff. The bread is pretty nice and you dont have to toast it

My t’other half is a coeliac and avoids all wheat, rye, barley like the plague. You’ll never get truely GF porridge though for reasons the previous link describes. We eat normal porridge oats and her coeliac symptoms are none the worse for it. Depends on your stance I guess as to whether you want to avoid alvenin as well as gluten
If you want to try any…Waitrose essential porridge oats are pretty good or try and get a high quality jumbo variety which all taste pretty nice
Tip: Soak your oats in water the night before, makes them easier to cook in the morning and apparently (so I read) maximizes the cholesterol reducing effects!

Cross Fell is a bog most of the year from what I remember

Youve the same dilema as me. We are about the same size I reckon.
I test rode a L solaris on a Cotic demo day and it felt really good. Nice and responsive, not too big. If I hadnt ridden an XL later the same day that a friend had, I would not have considered an XL one bit. But I did which is why I have the same problem as you. The XL did feel that tad bigger but nothing that Id say it was too big. I think the consensus is from others is that both will work fine. The L is a bit more chuckable, the XL is build more for long rides and probably less chuckable. Im thinking of the XL as I reckon the extra length in the top tube can be compensated for with a shorter stem and riser bars if need be, however if the L feels a bit small, then extending the stem may mean you are leaning too far forward and like you say sitting too far back
    hope that helps

For what its worth, Ive got the 30D (5 years old) and a good friend of mine has the 10D (8 years old) and they both take fantastic pictures. Dont worry about the future proofing of the 60D, it’ll be out of date before you buy it. Worry more about the quality of the lens you buy and you will take great pictures. Go for the 60D if you can afford it.

overtake, its the best feeling ever when you zip past something much slower than you with an engine whilst u are on a bike, overtook a bus in the french alps on a hairpin bend once, nearly killed myself, but it made me smile!

Thks for the temptation – thats a good price!
Looking to build these onto a Solaris frame with a traditional 135 QR axle on the rear, I presume these are OK, not familiar with the 3.30 hubs
    cheers

these are for a 29er and I generally like thinner tyres (1.8) but nothing more than a 2.1

Theres loads! I used to live in Wallingford a few years back and the square of land between Wallingford-Goring-Reading-High Wycombe (i.e the south Chilterns) is rife with decent trails, all of which are rideable
Favourites of mine were all the stuff round Nettlebed (Deadman’s Lane – spooky at dusk!), Stoke Row and Woodcote – brilliant!

Get yourself a 1:25K OS map and go and explore, or, failing that, get yourself along to one of Trail Break’s evening or weekend orienteering events which all take place in the area around Reading. see web site.

Have fun – Im jealous as I used to love it down there :-(
