Seems like the Dyfi is heading into Sportive territory – £35 + £2.26 booking fee? Never had a problem entering the Dyfi over the years; got a place every time so dont see what all the fuss is about, but heading for £40 for a ride and now the camping isnt free either.

Ive read some mixed reviews about caffelatex though, unless theyve changed the formula – never had a problem with Stans latex myself

In defence of those 29er HTs who were walking (yep that includes me)
Only walking section for me was the singletrack climb after the pit stop and the only reason I didnt have a go at that was because there were about 50 people walking, mostly on those pesky 26ers :D
Great event as ever – do they put more fireroad climbs in each year? its amazing how you forget!

Dont think he’ll be looking so smug when one of those bolts that he’s overtightened and probably cross threaded causes the chain and block to come off and hit him square in the chops 8O

Alex – your shortening guide w/out bleeding works a treat – two nice short hoses completed in under an hour last night – thanks a lot! BTW, your hose cutter works really well also and made the job a lot easier

We planted a Cotoneaster a few years ago when our fence came down – looks great all through the year and the berries in Winter are a plus for wildlife. Keep it well trimmed and it will look mint
We planted 18in high whips about 3 yrs ago and already they have doubled their size.
Privet is functional – but boring!

+1 for the washing up liquid – apply both sides of the tyre and lay flat, inflate quick as you can witha track pump and it normally seals 1st time – no need for compressor or pop bottle in my experience. BTW, I use Schwalbe and they seat even after being stretched
