Anyone replaced the bottom bracket bearings yet on a Dune? Mine are a little bit noisy after the Battle on the Beach and stripped them down to find 17mm(ID)X31mm(OD)X10mm(Width) bearings fitted. Quick Google search and the only one’s I can find are cheap Ebay one’s from China.

My 3rd one but first time on a FATTY, felt as I was going backwards on the first run down the beach with all the cx bikes passing me but in reality being able to ride the soft sand at the start put me nearer to the front than normal and the fast guy’s were just passing me. Loved the Fat bike could ride it everywhere except the one very steep climb. Didn’t suffer with cramp this year either.

How did you manage that price?

I’d be tempted to buy one for my son and wife to share at that price.

15% off voucher and had a £100 off a damaged display model, the damage was minimal and I repaired it within 5 min of getting it home. I couldn’t wheel it out of the shop fast enough after paying for it.

I managed to get a display model Dune for less than £400 before Xmas :) It’s a lot of fun to ride.

Well there you go, said I could be wrong … meeting a mc over there seems like a scary prospect given that there’s not much spare room for a bicycle and walker to pass

I’ve ridden it on a bicycle and a MC in the past, a bicycle with a tow trailer was more hassle than the MC. Did have a lot of funny looks on the MC and it did feel wrong.

This is the bridge. A railway line plus a walkway & cycle path (no road)

I think it might be classed as a road as Motorcycles are allowed to use it.

Was 40 12 months ago, I use to race Motorbike enduro’s so i got a bunch of guy’s that I rode with and against together and had a day’s trial riding in mid Wales. Best birthday yet.
Hitting 40 is great, you can blame everything on a midlife crisis, getting a Fat bike is my next crisis :)

Yes good event but the wet ground made it hard work across the moorland. My 11year old boy rode too so I ended up pushing his bike and mine up the mountain climb “the joy of parenthood”. Glad we decided to ride our MTB rather than CX bikes though. :)

I went for a Boardman CX bike from Halfords, they had 10%off during the start of the TDF last year(they have it most bankholiday’s too) plus I managed to use my Halfords 10% discount from British Cycling as well. This years models are cheaper than last years. I’m very happy with the bike.

“He didn’t do the Dakar! he entered it and then crashed out on the first hard day. “

dont let facts get in the way of a good story.

it wasnt day 1. (or 2 or 3 or 4)

I take it you have finished the dakar to make such a statement. i mean by all accounts its a bit easy so i havnt bothered …. *doubtful hat on*

That’s right I’ve never finished the Dakar(or had a TV production team give me the money to start it)….. finished more off- road motorcycle events than Charley Borman ever will.

Had the same problem when I was buying my Nerve. I’m 5’10 with a short inside leg and the PPS told me I needed a small, I rang the UK help line and he advised to ignore the PPS system and go for what you would normally ride.
I ordered the Med in the end and it fit’s ok, it feels a bit larger than my old Reign (M)17″ but the the small Canyon at 16.5″ would have been too small.

Mine had to go back to Sram 3 times with a faulty lockout, sorted now and happy with the fork but was pissed off when the lockout stopped working after 200meters of tarmac riding after the second time they were fixed.
