Ok – so i’m really not liking this ios9 on my ipad – its slowed it down a fair bit. 🙁 but it seems im stuck with it now.

In a rather desperate attempt to get things back to normal i decided to reset my ipad to factory settings and ios7 – then i could connect to itunes and do the update over the air which would allow me to connect to itunes again –

No! reseting the ipad just wiped everything off and gave me a new ipad with …… ios9!
Only now i no longer have all of my stuff on there and no way of restoring it from backup as it still cant connect to itunes – b****cks!

So my options are leave everything as it is and get used to the fact my ipad isn’t very good anymore OR take the chance on updating my OS to Mavericks – so at least i will be able to restore all of my stuff back on to it (albeit with ios9)

So my question is:
If i downloaded the trial version (30 day trial) of carbon copy cloner and cloned my drive as it is to a 2tb drive and then updated my OS to Mountain Lion or Mavericks (both appear to be available on ebay).
Should i run into issues with either of these (apps and hardware not playing ball etc) could my drive and everything on it (and i mean everything) be put back exactly as it was prior to cloning it?

Is this an easy thing to do?

Is it worth it?

Can i be bothered?

I dont want to go to el capitan – its too new and i dont think my ageing macbook would cope too well.

Maybe i should just leave it alone.

I understand that snow leopard is old but as i was prompted to do the upgrade i kinda thought it would work – phiiiil is spot on

Having thought about it, Its not a massive deal that i cant connect to itunes.
I can use icloud to sync contacts etc and I have itunes match so music is also not an issue.

My one issue so far is that i have audiobooks in itunes on my mac. As far as i can tell these aren’t available in itunes match.

So whats the best way to get audiobooks to my ipad?

As suggested i am sure there is no need these days to actually connect to my mac but its just the way i have been doing it for years.

I turned on icloud once and ended up with duplicates of contacts on my phone so promptly turned it off again.

I’m sure a few hints and tips from the helpful stw’ists will soon have me up and running.

(mutters)Still a bit miffed that apple steered me into this without any warning that it wouldn’t work though!

I use an app called photosync

Install on both ipad and phone

Open app on both and copy pics to ipad over wifi

I also use it to move pics to mac (install the desktop version on mac)

The Honda CB bikes are pretty good for modding.
Anything like the CB450 500 550 or 750 would be good. Depends if you want twin cylinder or 4 cylinder – although the 750 could possibly be a bit big or heavy.

Used yorkshire windows about 10 years ago and they were just about ok.

But used a company called allweather roofline (from doncaster i think) 3 or 4 years ago and they were AWFUL – ruined one of our carpets (which cost them £500). They also fitted gutters for us which leaked like a sieve. Had to get them out about 5 times to sort the gutters. Never again – worst company in the world to deal with. 👿

Got to disagree with some of this

Moved to wakefield about 11 years ago where we had a nice barn conversion in newmillerdam which is a really nice area – as is sandal etc

We then needed something bigger and bought a 5 bed semi in St Johns about 7 years ago – st johns is pretty close to the city centre but we have not had one bit of trouble in all the time we’ve been there. Great neighbours and our daughter goes to what is one of the best schools in west yorkshire.

The city has changed massively since we moved there – we have seen huge investment in the centre.
A new shopping centre was opened a year or 2 back. The hepworth gallery also opened around the same time.
This year has seen a new library and massive development of the area around the college and courts.
The new westgate train station has also just been completed and there are projects going on to tidy up the centre all the time. The fountains at the bottom of westgate etc (was really funny when the local yoof put washing up liquid in it not long after opening)

There is a lot of money being invested in wakefield, which is great because for years it did suffer as the very poor relation to leeds.

I am sure there is still a long way to go but it seems to be working.

I commute to leeds every day by car which takes me 20 mins – though it can sometimes get a bit sticky on the way home at the moment due to upgrading the motorway to a smart motorway (whatever that is)

One point i do agree on is – the riding is shite. But sling the bike on the car and off you go. York is half an hour away – sheffield 20 mins

Got to admit i dont really know the areas mentioned by others but there are holes in every city if you look for them.

Gets lots of looks wherever it goes – though i suspect thats probably down to the glorious noise it makes 8)

Because when you find a spider and catch it, feel it between your fingers and give it a little stroke (they don’t mind this). You will find the top of its abdomen is quite soft.

Ditched my wallet about 3 years ago.

Now i just carry this with 2 cards and a couple of notes wrapped around the cards

It arrived quick and it still looks great after 3 years – the leather is nice and worn.
Can get them cheaper elsewhere – but will definitely buy again from here when i need to .

Its kept my phone scratch free too, although i do have thin film protectors on the front and back.
