    Just to update

I was really worried over this but have since calmed down.

Having read lots of other info and replies other people in similar positions made, I made an offer to the company of 3 x the standard licence fee. I think this is a fair and reasonable offer.

Obviously I removed the image on notification and have shut my blog down for the moment.

There’s been no reply yet – I emailed them over a week ago.

Thanks for all the info on this thread

We will see what happens and I will update.

Sorry for no comment on this yesterday.

Had a really busy day – had some work to do, then had to go through my website and then was reading as much about this as I could.

The image in question was of the logo on a building.

The blog was on my website but I have now removed all posts and effectively shut down my blog. I ended up going through my site to ensure there were no more possible violations, All other images were from unsplash etc and I have ensured that all image credits are given as required.

I dont think its a good idea to just ignore this but I will be replying with an offer of the original license cost (£35) x3.

I feel this would be a reasonable offer and think it will be looked upon as being reasonable should this escalate.

I really can’t afford to pay this as I haven’t had any income at all since last November and have been supporting myself with savings, but there is a part of me thinking I just want this to go away. The amount of £500 seems punitive and I suspect if this went to a small claims court that they would be awarded the original license fee that they missed out on. That seems to be the general consensus from the forums I have looked at. The idea is to recoup their losses – not to punish.

This was a really stupid mistake and the stress this is causing is awful.

I probably won’t be able to be back on here until later tonight or maybe even tomorrow.

Thanks for all the comments and help.

    oldnpastit – you’ve got it.

Just found a really grainy video on youtube too, from 14 years ago showing that the caps do need to be prised off.

    Will have a bash tomorrow

    Thanks again

    Its a hope hub

I thought the silver cap on the end of the freehub would just pull off or unscrew.

It moves around easily but doesn’t unscrew.

I tried pulling it but it didnt feel like it was going to go – don’t want to cause damage thats going to cost me to fix.

    As keando above.

I raised this very issue a couple of days ago – I get audio only.

    Only happens on this site

Also when looking at this site on safari – the side banner (over there < on the left) covers part of the text.

Again – only happens on this site

Somebody needs to get the spanners out and fix something

    Ok – same issue again.

I could see these vids yesterday – but today .. sound only

Well that’s odd – I can see both of those videos ok … and I can also see those that haven’t been playing for me now.

Ignore me – nothing to see here 🙂

Yes – even though catalina is available – the notes dont list my 2009 macbook as compatible.

I am actually downloading 10.10 at the moment – but may just try and go straight to 10.11

Will be nice to get it working properly again.

    Thanks euain

So it appears I might not need 10.10 – and can go straight to 10.11 from 10.9?

That would save a lot of faffing about.

Looked in the app store on my machine and only catalina is showing as available –

Does anybody have any recommendations for a particular brand/size etc?

Some great looking clean cars up there.

So whats the best way to dry a car off after washing?

Been spending some time polishing my 20 year old e39 touring and it was looking really good. Then it was sat on the drive and got really dirty so i washed it again and dried it with a chamois but its left lots of crap all over it. Needs washing again now to get rid of all the water marks.

What’s the best way to dry it?

    Lovely Marantz amp up there.

just the kind of thing I’m looking for.

    Current set up is:
    Naim 62/140 pre/power
Linn lp12 with ittok and origin live power supply
    1976 Tannoy Cheviot speakers.

Recently swapped the speaker cabinets over for some fancy walnut veneered cheviot cabinets with upgraded crossovers.

Sound really nice on the naims but looking for a suitable 70’s amp to drive them.

My hifi was my pride and joy. My LP12 turntable in particular.
Imagine the words that burst forth when i came home from work after the cleaner had been, to find .. my stylus bent backwards after she decided to dust the turntable. 🙁

This was about 10 years ago – but i’m over it now .. honest.. I am

Well we went yesterday and just decided to follow the show signs.

Got there without issue – traffic was no problem at all.

Got there around 10.30 and took us about 40 mins

    Was a really good day

We are going to this tomorrow.

Anybody got any tips on which way and at what time would be best to go.
We are travelling from Methley, Leeds

Thanks for all of the advice.

Looks like a track saw would be the thing to get.
Wish i had bought one instead of my circular saw.

As i have the space (2 workshops at 6x5m)i think a table saw would still be a good addition one day but for this particular job – track saw is the way forward.

    Thanks again

I’m going to be using it to cut plywood sheets when I clad the inside of the garage.

I bought an evolution chop saw last year and its been brilliant – cant believe how much I use it.

Over the last 4 or 5 years, if I have ever needed a tool I buy it as I’m trying to build my workshop up. I could have used a table saw a couple of times recently so it feels like the right time to get one.

The last time I cut plywood sheets I used my circular saw, which always feels like a bit of a faff to be honest. Just feel the job would be so much easier on a table saw.

A track saw would obviously do this particular job but I think I would use the table saw for a lot more than cutting sheets.

Built this sand scorcher a couple of years ago when we were between house moves and i had no shed to keep me occupied.
Don’t use it much at all but really enjoyed the build and surprised myself as i had never built any models before.

Thanks for the replies – will look at the dow corning sealant – have also seen an envirograf stoveseal sealant that looks like it would do the job.

The cover is actually hinged so not another flue outlet – which is also on the top

    Hi Gnusmas

I don’t contribute much to the forum but i have been following your story for a while.

Just reading the bit about santas letters mentioning Lyanda brought tears to my eyes.

You are a stronger man than i am and i just want to wish you and the kids all the very best for the future.

Blown away by the support on this forum.

    Have a great weekend

Hmmm Ok – some helpful comments.

Regardless of what she earns we still have a mortgage, school fees, car etc etc and all of the other normal monthly payments so losing that amount of money will have a big impact.
Like most people we live within our means (and sometimes right up to the edge of them)

She was looking forward to doing her civic duty but as she is self employed, if she doesn’t work she doesn’t get paid so this will mean a complete loss of earnings.

    To the usual comments

Newrob – believe me 3k is not pocket change.
junkyard – she also pays more than most in tax but its nice that you’re so concerned
Ransos – i don’t recall claiming poverty – but screw you

I loved the smiths and even the early solo stuff was good but you are the quarry was easily his best.

Was lucky enough to see them live doing the first album, then meat is murder and also the queen is dead.

The smiths shaped me and my hair through my teenage years

He has become a massive dong mind

I haven’t had a playstation since PS1 – but i loved playing gran tourismo on it.

I’m really not bothered about playing online.

Can you play older games on a PS4?
Can you play new games on a PS3?

If i get a PS4 do i have to play online?

I know nothing about them these days and haven’t been on one for about 15 years.
