@frepster that’s the X Fusion slide 29, most LBS can get them

@IvanDobski I guess there is a bit more standover, but as mentioned above I am ‘crazylegs crane’ so it’s not an issue for me anyway

All the kit was on a green FF29, hence the green grips, a couple of green anodised bits and the green stans rim decals.

@gonetothehills I love the Tripster ATR, I had a good look at it yesterday, I’d love one of them too.

@matther01 they do a small version with 650b wheels for the vertically challenged

    @somafunk that looks lush

Yeah, head angle a degree slacker, chainstays a tad shorter, 142 x 12 rear axle

I’ve got long legs, I prefer medium to a large, just suits the way I ride a little better.

I’ve done about 600 miles on my slant 29’s since I got them, it took some time to get the right air pressure dialled in, but now they’re sorted I think they’re excellent. No issues as yet :-)

I know the purists would not approve, but I’ve put mini V’s on my @kinesis_uk Five T. by South Downs MTB Skills, on Flickr

I fitted the cheap tektro V’s and they seem to work well

They’re great, pretty light and very stiff, I’ve got three!

Thanks, it has some slightly pimpier wheels on it now, and it makes me smile when I ride it :-)

    I’m 6′ and have a 17″, but I prefer a bit of a more playful feel

I’ve got the Slides on mine too, they work great and are really stiff. It just takes a little time to get the air pressure right, the chart on the fork as a little over sprung. I run a bit less air than recommended for best results.

I’ve just swapped the cantis out for mini v’s and it is much better, front brake judder has been eradicated at last.

Definitely Pivot, I got rid of my El Guapo, got the Aluminium 5.7 it is so much better an all rounder, but you can still tackle some bigger stuff if you feel that way inclined

Titus El Guapo I bought last year, low BB handled like a barge, got a refund.

My wife has an original El Guapo and I liked that so much I thought I’d treat myself to a new one, but the geometry changes really changed the character of it and I just hated it from the first turn of the pedals.

Been today, it was busy, but not too bad. Slower riders very kindly pulled off the path without being asked to, thanks :-) Only negative was a few grannies walking up the blue route, stopped and told them they were on a bike only route, they said “yes, I believe we are” and carried on anyway. Ho hum.

The car park was rammed by lunchtime though so I reckon you need to be there by 09:30 to stand a good chance of finding a space.

I must say though out of all the doom and gloom about this loads of the trails were ones I’ve raced on at Gorricks over the last ten or fifteen years. They’ve made good choices and it all flows around nicely.

The Red route descent before the jumpy area and the red descent off the top of the jumpy bit were absolutely grin inducing, it was a lot of fun :-)

+1 for the CTC, the help I have received after my ‘incident’ has been fantastic, I would recommend them to anyone for that alone

My Kona Hei Hei. I had to sell it to part fund my Hummer (which I love), but it’s the one I still pine for on a regular basis, to the extent I have a saved search on eBay!

I did the 24/12 on the sync prototype last year, it’s a lot of fun to ride, and I will say is definitely a bit of a smoother ride than the FF29. Really handles nice through the singletrack and on the descents. I’d love one when it arrives, but as I’ve only had my FF29 a few months I don’t think I really can.

Tried some 650B ones on a demo bike recently, absolutely hated them. Spent the whole ride squirming and sliding around, sticking with High Rollers!
