Primera sports in Bournemouth are having one on Sunday 15th April, appreciate it’s not on the doorstep for Exeter but may be the nearest that should include a range or 29ers.

Merlin have also got XT disc hubs with Stans ZTR 355 rims in 29er for £135 using VIP10 if you can stomach white rims?

Oh yeah I think you have to take 15mm front, but an excellent deal IMHO?

Gold’s not a bad bet, Silver is a better bet IMO.

Justridingalong did a set of Hope Pro 2 with 29er Arch rims for me a while back, complete with choice of spokes and nipples.

Fantastic set of wheels, I’m over 15st and had no problems with them.

Will check it’s the original Garmin lead although I’m fairly sure it is as I don’t think I had any cables with the Garmin size connection prior to getting my Garmin, if that makes sense.

Data wise it’s got Kielder from the weekend, a couple of 8hr mb rides done in Aug, a fair few Sat mb rides 3ish hrs, numerous 2-2.5hr road bike stuff, quite a lot really 🙁

uplink – where do you get Training Centre from? is it a Garmin thing.

Im entered, but have less chance of finishing than seeing no midges!

Up til 3 weeks ago training was going well, went out on 3rd Aug and did 81 miles in 7hr 40min (including a lunch stop) not very hilly 1500m and a bit of road included.

Then went out on 6th Aug for what ended up being a very steady 70 miles all day ride, felt good though.

Had an easy week then went out for our usual Saturday mbr and struggled even to pedal, ended up cutting it short (30 miles) with a major dog on, had the grumps ever since, barely touched a bike, eaten poorly ever since (put on half a stone) and now not even sure if i should bother going.

Also unsure about camelback/bottles, tubeless or not (only recently changed and my mate has ripped a tyre on his last two rides!)

I don’t they will be promoting the event since it was established that entry to the only decent viewing spot will be limited/ticketed.

Even Cycling Weekly have come out and called it a sham?

They started calling it climate change when they realised it wasn’t getting warmer and it would allow them to blame every weather/climate occurance on it.

Is it wrong that I’m strangely aroused by Stoner’s set up!!!

It’s how I imagine my garage looking, sadly mine looks like an electrical store on Tottenham High St 🙁

    Buyer beware!

Specialized The Captain S works are under no conditions suitable to run tubeless!!!

The sidewall is so flimsy the pushing down near the valve trick does not work as it is impossible to force the sideall towards the bead.

Adding more soapy water actually makes this process even more difficult.

Sweating my cobs off after having another hour long bout with the track pump, going to have one more go later, if I fail they will be going back as not fit for purpose.

I left the tyre inflated with the tube for about 36hours so it appears nicely shaped.

And yes I left the bead on one side when I removed the tube.

Using a Topeak Joe Blow Ace, track pump, not a cheapy so should be up to the job?

I had a quote last week £16k for a 3.78Kw system (largest domestic to still get the full feed in tariff is 4kw)

Projected to pay back just over £1,500 per year, with the saving on electric bill only about £190 of that (No one at home during the day Mon-Fri)

If you wait for better panels then after April 2012 the feed in tariff is dropping, can’t remember to what though.

The current tariff is index linked for 25 years, the panels I was quoted have a gaurenteed minimum 80% efficiency after 20 years, the drop in efficiency is something alot of people don’t tell you about.

I would be prepared to give a TQ a go, would be interested to know how much of your position would be down to fitness and how much down to map reading?

My map ready is OK, I think, the thought of riding the same bit of trail repeatidly because I can’t find the turn Im looking for does not appeal.

Im not fast XC wise but can bimble along for a few hours no problem, the idea of being beat by someone purely because he could read a map better than me does not appeal.

Would also take issue with the Endomondo challenge comment, Im a cyclist first and hence enjoy all types of riding, Im on the list but have (as I assume is correct) only uploaded ‘off road’ rides, which at this time of year (TT season) can drop off a bit.

TJ, working with the Mrs would be fine, we don’t spend enough time together at present.

I spoke to a mate who goes to Scotland walking a couple of times a year, he like most I think heads for the bigger hills though?

No summer hols is not a problem, having no kids means we rarely go away in traditional holiday times and more often than not go away for Xmas etc.

I can see Im talking myself into this? I certainly don’t expect to get rich, it’s more doing something I will enjoy, as long as it covers the bills.
