Should also add I want to use it for touring (if that makes a difference!).

Yes would be good to see some technical bunff comparing different fabrics. Manufacturers also are very poor at a) stating weights and b) waterproof and breathability ratings.

And WHY THE **** DO SO MANY TOP JACKETS ONLY COME IN BLACK OR GREY! Possibly the two worst colours for biking!

bizz.. agree on the urgent & important method (Coveys quadrants). It does help prioritise (although too many things go into Q1 – Urgent & Important)!

wow lots of sound advice! Must admit the volume of information plus ambiguity over whether to flag a mail, turn it into an (outlook) task or create the action elsewhere is driving me nuts!

Some say – keep mails and tasks clearly separate…

camo16 – yes I guess that is part of the problem – have tried that in past and it has helped come to think of (as well as keeping coffee intake in check!)

I wondered how many seconds it would take for someone to say that :-)

This is great! When I was a kid I built the submarine from “Man from Atlantis”. Was very disappointed when the lego warped with the heat of a hot bath!!

My 2p….just sent a gore paclite jacket back, terrible breathablity. The inside lining has like a rubbery, plastic coating which just doesn’t breath. A cheap windproof, shower proof jacket was betters overall.

What I’ve learned is that the fabric is not the only factor.. Construction (namely lots of venting options) and application (over layering in damp, mild conditions I.e. user error) are just as important

Following a recent multy day tour where is was soaked within an 1 hour each day with paclite whilst my eVent clad buddy was dry I’ve just ordered one of these. ….will let you all know how it goes.

Coatsey….what I don’t understand is why once the cap,was gone the crank would not stay not. The bolts were not threaded and I was able to fiully tighten them..

So are there any cranksets that come with a metal cap as opposed to a plastic on of the off drive side? Like 2009 XTR and Duracell stuff.

The Nitto Randonneur Drop Bar seems a good compromise…..any of the big companies (3T, Easton, FSA etc) making anything similar to midge or Nitto?

Jesus…never looked into road bars before…there are more shapes and sizes than I can believe!

Puzzled by the midge! Seen some pics which seem to have road levers with no hoods…is that standard setup?

    Scotland (Aberdeen).

As gore had only been used a handful of times deemed reproofing not necessary.
