I’ve had junkies come into my hoose when the back door was left unlocked…very unnerving comforting one! I’d say it’s a sign of a bigger issue which the grown ups next door need to be informed about

For what’s its worth …just read a few forums where folk have had both 143 and 130 versions of same saddle. Conclusion is that it seems to make a huge difference to comfort…

Irc…seems Sonoma saddle is available in few places…

Do you remember which sq saddle you tried?

Anyone tried a saddle from SQlab? Look interesting but seem little known in UK…wiggle used to sell

Yes I am concerned about weather resistance of leather saddles…on last years tour tour it rained heavily every day and night which would not be ideal for Brooks etc…

Stato…don’t object landing cash on saddle if I’m convinced it will be comfy. Looked at one at bike shop and it felt hard and heavy! Yes it is an expensive frame that I don’t want to put lardy parts on unnecessarily… :P

Nudging thus one up as still not found the right saddle! Did 45 miles on my Specialized Phenom yesterday and it was sore!

Have tried a charge spoon and specialised phenom. Took delivery of a selle itallia SLR gel flow today but sending back as it seems intended for wide sit bones and crouched position..

Tbh..have spent too much on saddles…a brooks of acceptable weight will be too expensive to maybe not fit…
They don’t allow trials or returns….

As an ipad owner I would recommend the windows tablets for anything business like. Yet to find an app which can reliably open an office documents be it word, excel or PowerPoint. And believe me I’ve tried!

I just bought an Air and am thinking about ditching and going to one of this new Nokia ones.

So I got my new jackets. Turns out I’m a fat b@@s. None of this roadie kit seems to fit! So back to square one. Need to pick MTB or general outdoor stuff me thinks.

I recommend using various cloud services to back up different types of media. Eg Dropbox for documents, iTunes Match for audio and Picasa (Google photos) for, well, photos.

This also gives access to all your stuff remotely on any device at any time. Other than that just keep a backup HDD or stick of software etc.

cheers on and on….slightly concerned about the breathablity of the Varium. I assume it has some sort of membrane?

on and on..if you’re still on … any idea on the weight of the Altura Varium jacket?

Can’t believe how few manufactures quote weights!

Is it possible to get an operation to have your sweat glands removed? Might be cheaper!

I think the idea of a soft shell is good in all but worst weather. Thinking back my Gore Windstopper was quite waterproof when new..

that’s a nice jacket on and on….how sweaty is it? I was wearing a Gore Windstopper yesterday, it was around 9C with a cold wind and it was really clammy inside.

OK Rusty looks like Castelli kit might be an issue fit wise.

Based on all the great input above it seems that the ideal should be thin as possible (2.5 Layer) with plenty ventilation options.

Something like a Castelli Pocket Liner but cheaper and not so slim cut.

Agree with Spin. I bought a Paramo Active Light earlier this year and it did not live up to breathablity claims.

Neoshell is the best material, but jacket choice is still fairly limited.

Yes I think Sugio has an exclusive on the material for cycling jackets :-(. Means all other choices are mountain / running jackets which with hoods and poor fit for biking.

Hungry monkey…..how packable is the NeoShell? Any idea on weight? Guess it’s too early to comment on durability.

Ok the Bontranger eVent, Castelli eVent and Gore Oxygen Active Shell (due to huge amount of positive reviews) are on short list. The Sugio neoshell seems to be a bit heavy and poorly cut. Anyone own any of these?
