Moda, parkers valuation is £12K and this is higher spec and lower milage (23K) than average. So finger crossed it would work out….happy to pay a £1000 for 6 months motoring if it comes to that..

useful intel Moda…. on the other hand I doubt it will depraciate any more than the car I have (a 2006 A6 Avant) so shouldn’t loose out.

Anyone know anything about towbars? Decided to go with towbar mounted system, as seems opinnions are good. About to order new car which can be specified with a “swivel” towbar, which I assume means it can be dropped out of sight when not in use. £655 though, is that expensive for a towbar?Do any of these racks need a specific make or type of towbar?

Also looking into this subject; have had Thule roof bars for years which have proved to be excellent and very convenient. Do you know how much hassle it is attaching a rack to the tow bar and whether it impedes access to the boot? Also with all that weight on the back how will the handling of the car be affected? Guess from a fuel consumption point of view tow bar will be best….

all depends on the type of games you like and weather you want to use it as a media device also. I had a Wii and own a PS3 and Xbox.

PS3 with Move good for family games but also has hardcore shooters which use the technology. For kids Littlebig planet has kept my 6 year happy for 2 years now. Also the bluray player, iPlayer and Lovefilm streaming is all great plus no network fees.

Xbox very good and I’m also think about getting Kinect but if I had to choose one console it would probably be PS3

seems that this is an estimate of what we’ll use over winter. i.e. the direct debit not the tarrif has increased. still seems steep though

great wee devices. I use mine as a remote control for itunes, quick checking of email without turning on PC; kids use it for games and puzzles. A very versatile gadget! basically an iphone without the phone bit!

I've got a North Face Trailhead 8 which I rate for price, ease of erection (ooo er..), stability in poor weather, space and transportability.

Not sure if it is still available though…

Not my council but a few of my friends from Aberdeen are rather angry by the council's decision to concrete over the city gardens.

Yeah I live in Aberdeen and this is a complete disgrace……as you can imagine £120M buys a hell of a lot of slabs (and friends!)!
