If you just want somewhere clean and comfy to sleep then pod 51 is an amazing location for the money. There’s a (newer) pod 39 too.

Don’t panic. Stock up on Goodlife picador parsnip and carrot nut burgers and LM sausages – if you’re cooking veg, something starchy and meat for the rest of the family you can swap out the meat and use these instead for a vegan option. Batch cook and freeze portions of veggie chilli – serve on a baked potato with a salad or with rice and veg for a quick dinner. Make a choc chip and walnut banana loaf and freeze in slices to take with a packed lunch. Beans on wholemeal toast is a great easy snack. Make a vegan meal (like risotto, stir fry, pasta) for everyone and just add meat/cheese for the meateaters.

Maybe that’s what they should rename the White House

I limit myself to one orangery and a minstrel gallery per payday. Works for me.

The hoopoe (having spent a lot of 2016 in Lanzarote). Love their zebra stripes and the fact that when flat their crest feathers make them look like they’re wearing a tiny pointy aero helmet.

modern life is indeed pretty crappy when you boil it down

That would work so much better if it were embroidered on a cushion

My mum was born in Ireland. She doesn’t have an Irish passport but I applied for one last month. It’s a slow process. Eligibilty for citizenship by descent is detailed here[/url]

As a Tassimo owner I’d recommend a cafetiere 🙂 Tastes better, is cheaper and has less packaging than pod coffee.

I’ve travelled with ryanair (and easyjet) a lot this year. Only time I’ve seen staff challenge anyone’s luggage allowance was when a passenger had six items of hand luggage. It’s become pretty normal for a call to be made at the gate asking for people to put their hand luggage in the hold for free – you just leave your bag by the steps. Or you can just pay to check in a small bag – if there’s more than one of you travelling maybe you could check in one bag between you.

Genuinely amazed that anyone would even question it, but I’m overloaded on the season of goodwill to all so probably out of touch.

A few people round here could use a visit from three ghosts
