The whole format feels so stale now, how much longer can RB continue trotting this out year after year ?

Excellent show, nice vibes and a really eclectic variety of bikes. Good to see more of this happening north of the border.

Conti GP 4 Seasons seem to be a nice compromise between puncture resistance and ride quality, would recommend. Running the 28’s here and am yet to puncture them

I’m actually going to saudi in a few days to work on dakar coverage, but it’s a podcast rather than traditional coverage – check out “in the dust” on RBTV and Spotify in the new year !

Not tan wall but really excellent for all weather – Continental GP 4 Seasons.

I know of someone selling a fully restored complete SS 69er bike…in the bronze colourway. Drop me a line and I can put you in touch, can’t be many left

Yup, was also concerned that the low BB would be an issue on the Squatch but it just feels fantastic. Best cornering bike I’ve ever had, and super compliant.

Stif squatch is pretty “good value” considering the overall parts spec

I have an ’01 V70 T5, which is quite amusing in a straight line, really cannot get the power down in anything other than bone dry weather. And the steering is akin to a yacht – zero feedback, but super comfy heated seats for plopping into after wet rides, and cost £1400 3 years ago, so no complaints here !

Headmaster ritual, or Handsome Devil – the Peel session version is excellent.

Nice effort ! My 01′ V70 T5 has just ticket over 150k, barring some electrics that don’t enjoy torrential rain it’s been fantastic, and with an LPG conversion it’s ~£24 = 270miles, which isn’t terribly ruinous given it’s rampant thirst for fuel…

    Boring, overpriced and uninspired AF.

Does anyone else do a light pre toast in the toaster to ensure rigidity before loading up with cheese ?

Perhaps consider grabbing a Mazzer super jolly ? I got mine for around 100 quid, and you can easily mod it to remove the doser if you so desire with parts from here – https://home-doserless.com/

Absolute tank of a grinder that feels like it will last forever

6 years old now, been through 3 groupsets and 3 different builds. From 40c Nanos for dirty reiver etc, to full Sram Red 22 and light wheels. To now having full mudguards, racks and child seat. A truly versatile and tough steed! Fillet brazed 853 goodness 🙂

On the same boat – awaiting a Squatch ordered earlier this year, and have had to chase to find out it’s been delayed repeatedly. Staff are great on the phone but not terribly impressed with the comms –

I quite liked the Maxxis ravagers, good durable casing too.

Would highly recommend this as a “last run of the day”, after abusing your body on the WC track all day, it’s like a motorway – super relaxing ! Would be ideal for those riders with young kids

Got an Arcam CD player and Amp, both working. Also around the same time a splatter paint GT mtb, which was an ideal pub bike.

Honda Jazz seems to be the best bang for buck, although I have seen you can pickup Priuses for around that money…

Troy Lee XC used to be my go to, but recently really been enjoying my 100% Cognito’s – nice to have a bit of knuckle protection without being overly bullky.

Eddiebaby (sorry can’t work out how to make it quote !) It doesn’t now – apparently they weren’t terribly good. It’s got Lollar P90’s and a bigsby on it just now. Seriously “chewy” tones, definitely the first time I think I’ve truly gelled with a P90 equipped guitar.

It’s the oldest guitar in the room just now, just edging out my 1977 Guild B301 – I’m a lefty and believe that the guild is 1 of around 4 they made that year !

Moved house during lockdown, new neighbour has a veritable fleet of guitars and amps. Easily 30+, some really cool stuff, including an EGC Steve Albini model.

He kindly lent me a Mesa Boogie Transatlantic combo a few months ago – mind blowingly versatile amp – getting some amazing sounds with a 1971 Ibanez Les Paul recording straight into it.

    Lots of tasty estates !

Here’s mine, 20years old this year, still running nicely. It’s a T5, with an LPG conversion which makes it quite reasonable to run.

He’s a sleazy disgrace – period. Deeply disappointing he’s not seeing the inside of a jail cell for his disgusting conduct.

He needs deplatforming ASAP, the amount of public money getting sunk into this is wild.

Pretty woeful script, and token “twist”. Far too many drone shots and the zoom heavy camera work is distracting, definitely sub par.

Have had a variety of Goretex Pro Shell jackets over the years – recently got a Madison DTE for a fraction of the RPP of the goretex and it’s just as good. Cut is nice and “boxy” which suits me well.

I picked up a Mazzer Super Jolly for £120 quid, fresh flat burrs too. Yes the footprint is larger but its relatively easy to mod and probably will outlast the Sage.

Definitely some serious sponsorship milking going on here, for some essentially very mediocre riding.

Dreadful for a tyre that should be reasonably durable. Mine were littered with cuts on their first ride, which was on rural (isle of mull) tarmac. Definitely better, more durable options out there.
