Hahahah 😉
20mm in normal easy going xc wont make any difference.
Its when you start to get a bit crazy with drop offs and jumps etc its usefull.hrcmontyFree MemberIA, In my case i bought the 100mm fork on the knowledge from this well known compnay, that making them 120mm is exaclty the same as the Air Spring version!
Although i’m ok with 100mm, i think 120 would suit my style more.
So anyone reading this, and has a 120 BLack Recon/Tora Coil e-mail me.
hrc_montyAThotmailDOTcom(is that allowed?) Sorry if not!
hrcmontyFree MemberWell, someone may correct me. But i’ve been looking and you can get the Air spring assembly for alot less than the Coil!!!!
So it maybe possible to swap the coil out for the airspring assy.
Personally i prefer Coil to air.
hrcmontyFree MemberI’ve just got some Gold. A Certain Fork tuning company told me, it was exactly the same as the Air.
Its NOT! So i too am on the look out for a 120mm Coil Assy.
Cheapest ‘New’ i’ve found is from Farnham Cycles. So we have a race between us do we, as to who can find a second hand coil first!!!! Right then! 😈
hrcmontyFree MemberI totally see where you are coming from, regarding wanting your stuff back. Shreded or not.
My Dad had a massive motorcycle crash when we were at IOM GP, Long Long sotry short, all his leathers were cut of and blood stained, his helmet was **** and again blood stained.
but the Noble hospital, simply bagged it all up and gave it to me. When my dad finally came round several days later, and several months later when he was more with it. He wanted to see his helemet and leathers, as he felt it would help remember what happened etc etc. Exactly the same as you are saying.
So really cut or not cut, it is not their desicion to throw anything away. It will be somewhere, it just finding the right person to find it.
Hope you fully recover.
hrcmontyFree MemberNo don’t get forks,
I’m not naming and shaming at all. I’ve seen his other posts and i belive him to be descent.
I was just asking a question, i’ve not once said he IS a scammer or anything.
Just merley looking for anyone else who has delt with him, and Paulio thankyou my mind is at rest.
Case closed thankyou guys.
hrcmontyFree MemberCould be several things, but it’s a possibility that if there was no more petrol left at the petrol station, and she had to put Super in, then it is a chance she may have ‘The Dregs of the Barrell’. So it could be poor fuel.
hrcmontyFree MemberHaHa Noooo It wasn’t ‘My Friend was intrested’
so stop playing detective or else the poor wrong bloke will get a bad name. hahaHis Reason was his Mate let him down with a set of forks.
hrcmontyFree MemberHmmm, I know there is nothing i can do. I just think some people are proper Low!!!!
Not looking for advice, just see if my feelings and reactions are the same as others! Or if i was being wrong. But i’m not and yep what a n*b!
No i won’t name and shame, as much as i want to though!!!!
Seriosly do you think he’s borrowed my dosh for a few days!!! Ooooo that means i’m a loan Shark! and i want 2000% intrest back.
I think i might go get whats owed to me and my forks!!!!!! Whos coming?
I’ll provide Sticks!hrcmontyFree MemberI used an Superstar XCR with an x Brand chain tensioner, – both for sale 😀
As i’ve gone to the Superstar Plasma Chain Device.
I think there superb products, Never had an issue and i don’t think there too flimsy.
Look good, Cheap and certainly do there job!
hrcmontyFree MemberI must say i am over the moon with the discount i’m about to get on my new bike –
was £1,799.99 now £1,799.95Every Penny counts, so 4 of those makes me very happy.
hrcmontyFree Memberoh i’m confussed now!
So on the new On one 456 Steel, Can i run an outer straight through?
Has anyone got close up pics of their set-up?
Cheers
hrcmontyFree MemberWoo Hoo, thanks for the quick Reply.
I just called On one to ask. and they said it breaks!!! But when i looked at the pics on line i did wonder.
Hence my question here.
Cheers
hrcmontyFree MemberI try not to get involved in all this,
But i saw this Moan on the Superstar Facebook.
I Personally have ordered LOADS from Superstar, and most recently recieved a Floating Rotor,. the Rotor was in perfect condition, and i am Extremely happy with it.
I’m also extremely happy with the service i recieved when i communicated with them, about getting spare jockey wheel for the Laser chain device.
It seems you are making the process of getting your problem sorted, a million time worse by not following their procedure.
Fill a form in, send it back. Jobs done!!! Things happen, there called accidents.
Lets take the thousands of products sent out by superstar daily! Lets then look at how many are damaged on delivery. I bet Extremly little, Thus why should they change their packaging!!!
Just send you Rotor back and let them look at it. I’m sure their not blaming you for it being bent, by not sending a new out before you send the bent one back! It’s just the procedure and saftey they choose to adopt!
So answer to your question, i’ve found them bang on the money every time, and hats off to them for bringing us equipment which is from the same factories as nearly all Big Names, for fraction of the price!
I personally need that, as money is tight.
So Thankyou Superstar for being a superstar buisness!!!!
hrcmontyFree MemberSports tracker is a Good app, I’ve just moved from Endomondo Back to Sports tracker.
And it’s free too.
hrcmontyFree MemberSo you think if i just leave them, they will flatten off soon enough?
There crap now, because i can imagine there isn’t full pad contact, because of how i orginally bedded them in.
hrcmontyFree MemberI went to Halfrauds the other day, for some Finish line grease.
I noticed they had a workshop bay, i said to my mate ‘Would you dare trust them with your car’hrcmontyFree MemberI changed one the other day, and it took a while to ‘Catch’ the thread. But yeah, if the old one fits in fine and is the same, just use that.
hrcmontyFree MemberFunkydunk
I wish it was solid last night!!!! By eck!
I saw some eyes light up in my beam, also saw a chav car full off kids in the middle of hollins hall golf course!!!!I miss out buck wood as i only really know the road upto the jump track.
Might go explore at somepoint, but yeah through esholt sewage and up through esholt woods. Im lucky to live on silverdale estate 🙂hrcmontyFree MemberI went out last night, From Guiseley, towards hawksworth and through bradford golf course. That part was Crazy Clay, Built up big time on my drive gear!!! My tyres were about 4 inchs wider!!. Then went up from there to baildon moor, which too was ok then down the glen to the canal and back through esholt.
A few of us are off out on Sunday 0900Hrs, Guiseley – Shipley Glen – Ilkley moor – Addingham moorside – down to Rough Holden.
i was planning on doing the start as above, but 2 miles in with knackered gears aint good, so nice easy warm up along canal to shipley.because 1 of the lads is returning from a break.
hrcmontyFree MemberRubbish pics i know, but if anyone wants the drawing or more pics to make your own, E-mail me hrc_montyAThotmailDOTcom
I made my own, and most probably well over engineered it.
It’ll probably hold up a Motorcycle too!!Cost me ZERO, as it was from scrap metal. Just 2 lengths of box section, one slides in the other, Internal box has a bar inside it threaded, which allows the M10 threaded bar to go in. Cap off the end and put a 3 star turning handle onto the bar.
SOme angle iron for seat post clamps. Lift your bike up, clamp it in bikes going no where.
hrcmontyFree MemberOk, So maybe i’m being harsh. It just felt that you couldn’t go in and ask friendly advice, regarding somethnig your thinking of doing. But instead you were fobbed off to buy £50 worth of gear.
So i’ll ask you guys then. square taper is gone and so are the cranks to go with it. Ive given him Octalink BB and crankset to go with.
The BB is 72mm and the Axle is 126, Axle same length as he had before.
The bike is a 68mm Shell though. So – Is it possible and can you Shim out, and by shim i mean insert 2.5mm spacers that are out there on the market, to make the BB fit and work.
If so is it possible for advice wether to place both 2.5 on non drive side, split them over both sides?
The BB is fine and in good order, Money is tight so if can help it, not buy a new BB, hence the Advice.
I apologise for my outburst against Chevin, although i dislike the customer service. But that is my opinion and i should not have brought it to Singletrack. ➡
hrcmontyFree MemberWWASWAS – I’m not saying he should, hence saying go and ask for advice.
Not to be fobbed off by, I’ve never heard of that but here pay £50 for a new one.
Your Sentence would have been fine, Sorry sir i wouldn’t suggest that for the reason of XYZ. We do have these options in.
And Big John thats the thing NO advice was given.
hrcmontyFree MemberHi Guys,
Cheers. You have mentioned exactly what i thought i may have to do. Space out the Guide from the plate.
Nothings ever simple, but cheers. I don’t want to but another Crankset and BB just to fit this thing, so i’ll fabricate something tonight.
Cheers
hrcmontyFree MemberAnti roll bar links make a knocking noise, Either at certain points of wheel angle, or when it certain types of bumps which give the disconnecting type of thud.
There not easy to ‘Check’ either. Cheap enough to replace.
Hmmmmm but that won’t give a dronning noise!
Hard to say without hearing it. Failing that check your boot, and make sure no ones tied up in the back.
Sounds travel along the chassis so it could be someone knocking to get out!
hrcmontyFree MemberOr if all that fails.
Jack car up, Get a length of wood that will reach from the Tyre to about 2 ft short of the opposite wheel/Tyre.
Turn a Trolley jack on it’s side with trolley jacks against the Wheel that is still grounded. Wood onto the Jack and get pumping.
Again every so often relax the Jack and spin the wheel a bit.
I have not tried this, but it’s just a method i’m thinkin off the top of my head.
hrcmontyFree MemberI’ve had this a fair bit. Hammers never work!
Never failed me though is –
Jack the car up and handbrake off, Sit on the floor prefreably against a wall and with your feet at 9 and 3 o’clock, alternatly kick the tyre. At the same time every few kicks spin the wheel a little!
This will 1 keep you warm, 2 work your obliques and abs but mostly you are using the furthest point from centre to work the wheel off the hub.
Maybe every so often give it a kick from underneath the car. Just be carfull though it doesn’t shoot off, landing on the drive way face down, scratching your Alloy!
hrcmontyFree MemberNow was Dougie riding TSR 22A or TSR 22B Rule, Stop permitted or No Stop Permitted Hmmmmmm
hrcmontyFree MemberI agree, Don’t feel bad on yourself or your dog.
We have a Cavalier King Charles, who until recently was at home for 7-8 Hrs a day. Depending on who you speak to, people have different views.
But yeah throughout the day, they just mope around and sleep anyway. Aslong as He has access to water and toys. He’ll be fine! And Yeah, Walk in the morning, Walk when your home. Big walks on weekend, he’ll be fine.
I nash around our local woods when i get home on the bike, with the dog chasing me.
Honestly your situation is no different to MANY others, so if you don’t want to get rid. Then dont. 😀
hrcmontyFree MemberWicked,
Cheers Guys. Hmmm the Goodridge idea looks neater, but i bet more expensive haha.
cheers Guys.
Chris
hrcmontyFree MemberHi Guy,s sorry i had to dash off to fix a water pump on a friends Aygo.
Matt, Ed, Simon. sorry i’ve not joined facebook as i was pretty happy being a hermit and my past NOT finding me, but i think i’m going to have to bite the bullet and do it, as it’s the only way you find things out these days, or communicate with people.
So once i’m up i’ll send you a Friend request.
Cheers guys, looking forward to helping a good cause and getting out on some rides.
hrcmontyFree MemberHaHa, i reckon there’s tonnes of people around the area.
Hmmmm, most of my stuff comes from Superstar, or Pinkbike and singletrack.
When i win the lottery then i’ll go to Chevin and CRC etc.
Work wise i do everything my self.
Hmmmm Don’t know then, we used to have Bancroft motorcycles in Horsforth? Anyway, probably know some one that knows someone that knows someone haha!!
Yeah Ilkley moor, what a bummer with land owners! So what about all the ruts walkers are making with their Sticks!!!!.
