Saddleworth (Delph, Uppermill, Greenfield villages) will tick pretty much all your boxes with the possible exception of Snow… but even then it ain’t that bad. It’ll certainly cover the biking/drinking/train etc. Greenfield station is approx 25mins from central manchester.

Or you could try Marsden to be over the other side of the hill… lovely village, great pubs, ‘local’ feel ;)

something along these lines should do the trick

    Buffalo Bridge

I use an older model on for my Xbox and sky, and it’s great.

Done it several time, it’s a good event, keeps growing year on year – The route is different, goes from the top of Slaithwaite over scammonden, rishworth, over to hollingworth lake, towards saddleworth, marsden etc…

It’s got a bit of stuff on lanes too, but doesn’t (for me) detract from the enjoyment, tend to find that you’ll settle at a pace with other riders and have a chat/wheeze/moan about the fast people.

Not exactly techy, but that darker line is the start of the path before is decends into the cloud!

and then the zig zag line is the bottom, when you drop out the other side of the cloud…. much loose rockyness in between!

I’m using ProTec Gasket ones, they’re neoprene only, no solid bit, I bought them last autumn for warmth primarily, but have kept using them for that bit of graze protection they give… comfy enough for all day

The blues/rock fella that sits between M&S and Zara/FrenchConn is pretty handy on the old guitar too…

Not seen Mr Sabi Rock for ages either…

I’ve eaten at that bistro too, very nice indeed.

If you’ve not done Penmachno before, i’d say it’s worth the 10mins or so in the car to do that over the Marin trail. Always come away with a smile on my face after a ride round Penmachno.

Hebden? Should be fair good conditions at the moment…. this route takes in some reasonable stuff.

Can you not just draw a line at the latitude of the first chippy that does PROPER gravy? Or the point a which you get a head of your beer because that’s how it served, not just because it’s some poncy belgian number?

Love my Merc A180 diesel…. does 55+mpg on a good day. not any worse in a side wind then any other smallish hatch that I’ve had (yaris, polo, panda, focus, etc). Brilliant use of space, and nice and quiet on the m-way.

Also consider a D4D yaris, only 75ish bhp on paper, but plenty enough go for a motorway. the SR & T-spirit models are well specced. Also just had a facelift, so a late previous gen one may be a good deal at the moment.

Dare I suggest a Kia Cee’d… not had any personal experience, but there’s got to be some value in having 7 years warranty, and people thinking you’re a star in a reasonbly priced car.

We’ve got a springer (almost 2 years old), no kids of our own, but several younger nieces and nephews, they love him and he plays very well with them… Only the eldest at 11 is strong enough for him out walking though, he’s obsessed with birds, and if on the lead can give a good pull if something interesting flaps past.

He gets 30 mins in the morning (mix of on and off lead). 20mins at lunch, and then evenings vary from 30-90mins. that’s plenty for him to be very quiet around the house.

I’d agree with the above comment about clingyness, he’s like my shadow in the house, I quite like it though.

He’s MY first dog, although I did grow up around Cockers and English Setters.

    He’s also a magnet for mud….

I use some Mavic Alpine’s on my road bike at the moment, find them very comfy for the job. Just checked and mine are a 43 which matches other people comments on needing to size up a little.

I haven’t got sound at work but I’m guessing all you can hear is the 600cc engine that’s bolted somewhere between his knees!

Tried to find an easy option for this last year paying for a Chambre d’hote…. ended up swapping a load of emails, at which point they waived the deposit and we paid in full when we got there.

For smaller amounts there’s not an easy way I found without paypal :(

Could you combine the two – a lot of smaller events I been to (mountain bike marathons etc) give local bike shops the chance to park a van/tool tent in the main carpark/registering area, then people can ask/check/get fixed as necessary… or hand out cards for later.

I guess that would also avoid you the liability if you miss something on someone’s bike whilst giving it a once over.

number plate thing is sufficient instead of GB plates.

Another good tip is to have the hi-vis visble from the outside of the car, it’s an easy way for the police to see that you’re carrying them, making a stop check for everything else less likely…

I ran them on an on-one 456 for 18months, no issues at all, smooth and supple. Passed them on when I split the bike, and I know they’re still going strong…. pretty much fit and forget :)

Can you not just start a new team? Surely the game would allow that – and I guess at that point the period you’re not using the injured players would allow them to recover?

Not a FIFA player either, but it would seem unlikely the game just stops if you can’t buy more credit.

You’ll probably find that there are some ‘halfway houses’ available, not Genuine Dell £££, and not Ebay cheapo.

Try putting your model number in Amazon, thet’ll likely turn up a few, they tend to have 12month warranty etc…

Stayed here a few years ago – was a great little site, pretty close to rutland water too for bikey/walkey etc.
