I suspect your problem will be that you’re trading in a relatively unpopular car (large petrol engine), and are after a popular car. The car dealer won’t be biting your hand off to have your car as it’ll be harder to sell on. This happened to a friend who had an Impreza, and wanted a Diesel Civic, he ended up getting way under what he’d have liked just to get shut of the Impreza.

I’d be more inclined to try and sell yours 1st, as the cash will be a better bargaining tool

    From Psirens:

The Cat – There’s an old cat proverb that goes, “It’s better to live one hour as a tiger than an entire lifetime as a worm.”

Rimmer – There’s an old human proverb – “Whoever heard of a worm-skin rug?”

Cheers – had him playing Jase’ suggestion last night… not sure he was 100% on what was going on, but seemed to occupy him.

Might see if we can crack a bit of obedience tonight! Reckon he might get a night in the pub later in the week too, that always goes down well with us both, maximum fussing, minimum effort.

You can get piston rewind tools, had to get one for a toyota not so long ago, think it came with a variety of fittings, ford included…. easy with the right tool, dont think I’d fancy forcing it back without

They only stretch as far as pork pies and pickled eggs for food in the Railway, but other pubs around there do food, or Uppermill down the road is full of Cafe’s

Might be worth giving them a ring if you’re planning on going (no website I can find) to see what’s on.

The Railway pub in Greenfield, Saddleworth has something on most Sunday afternoons, it’s dead opposite the station too :)

November 4th is ‘The Curragh Sons’ who are Irish folk… that’ll be a good afternoon. Beer’s pretty good in there too as it’s on the Ale train, so generally 3-4 hand pulls to choose from.

    I’m using one of these…

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cycling-Showerproof-Windproof-Foldable-Hi-Viz/dp/B008VZ7E0K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346421297&sr=8-1

used plenty, washed plenty… nice fit on me anyway, and good value, rolls up into little pocket on the back. Not so sure on the ‘showerproof’ claim, would probably keep out misty drizzle for a short while….

There are some bits and pieces up there, the road to/from Chew res is suprisingly dull, and the routes from Chew off in other directions are cheeky, and after this ‘summer’ largely unrideable.

The track that runs up past Yeoman Hey and Greenfield res to Ashway Gap doesn’t rise as far or as long but is more entertaining on the way back down. Some riders cut down the pathway side of yeoman hey too, but again, probably more effort than it’s worth.

Looking further afield, there are bridleways and other paths that are pretty good (I’ve been riding around Saddleworth for years). We’ve organised small outings around Saddleworth in the past, so keep an eye out on here and one may happen again… or drop me an email (from profile) and we’ll try and sort something out

    Cheers

We had our dog done at around 8 months old-ish I think… It was a condition of the rescue place we got him from. He was a pretty chilled out dog (for a springer!) before, and has remained the same since, but that may have been the case even if the vet hadn’t whipped ’em off.

Personally as we had no plans for him other than pet/door to door salesman remover it wasn’t an issue.

    Hi David,

I’m just over the hill in Lees, ride around there quite a lot, few others on here are fairly close too.

I’m away on hols for a couple of weeks, but if you fancy a ride out in a few weeks I’ll happily put something together to suit any ability/beer preference :).

Email’s in my profile if you want to drop me a line at some point

Built mine up after getting a 2010 frame from a friend, revs, mavic cross rides, mix of slx, xt and deore… Not the lightest it could be, but its such a hoot I don’t mind… The blingy bits can come later if needed, in the mean time I’m too busy grinning to care!

    I seriously doubt you’ll regret it over a 5

    something like this…..

No need to remove anything from the bikes for transport, and if you get one with a roof rack, lock your bikes up there, and you can sleep in the back.

Had our Springer done a while back (when he was about 8 months old). Didn’t seem to make any difference to his personality or nature. He was really well behaved (for a Springer!) and recovered quickly, plus you have the added amusement of them wearing a cone for a week or two :D

Is the piece of plastic you refer to the bit that folds up 90 degrees to allow the ribbon cable to come loose? if so we’ve got a dead Compaq at work that I can spare that bit on (I’m the resident IT geek). If you want the bit, or want me to fit it for you I’m sure we can get that sorted… I’m Oldham area, or city centre Manc for work.

I quite like it, loud enough for walkers to hear as you approach which helps to avoid the odd “you should have a bell on that” comment that you get.

I got a set as part of the deore 2012 groupset I got, initially I ran them 160mm f&r and was a little underwhelmed, but a change to 180 front, and the second set of pads (sintered superstars) and they’re great, certainly no plans to upgrade anytime soon. For £70 a set I’d say go for it!

don’t get too upset about being heckled… you are asking about the leisure activity of the devil by most peoples standards on here… you could just add that you’re only driving a 4×4 out into the moors to unload your scrambler to go sit revving in a peat bog for a few hours.

    It’s a great app!

Also recommend a camera/SD kit, I got one of Amazon for £6 rather than Apples £25 job…. it’s excellent for syncing photos, and you can plug a USB keyobard in to for any extended typing sessions!
