how old is the car? is the work under warranty (guess not if you’ve paid £700)? if so I’d try and escalate it to Ford UK rather than the dealer/franchise, just have a good list of times/dates & work carried out so far.

If it’s out of warranty try a ford specialist, rather than a main dealer.

Use a ford owners forum to find a decent local place, or just to ask the same question about more ideas about the fault itself.

Cracking ride as always, bit breezy in parts!
Cheers to everyone for their company, and DeeJay for organising.

And for those who are wondering how DeeJay comes up with the routes on his rides, this is the picture that inspires him:

I was just about to say about the ‘Alcohol Free Shop’ depending on your location in the north it may be travellable, it’s on the Oldham side of Manchester. I drive past it daily too/from work.

This sounds like a good idea…

    What are brake pads?????

Excellent ride again, can’t beat a bit of grit in the eyes and a river in your shoes to make a downhill interesting. The two of us that cleared off just after the golf club ended up doing the first stretch from the New Delight down to Hebden again but downhill!! it was ace, if a little scary with only a front brake.

Can’t beleive there was flapjack and I missed it… next time!!!

    Cheers

You will find some differences in the shape/size of the 'nappy' bit in the shorts, I have some decathlon ones and a few pairs of others, I tend to use the decathlon ones for shorter rides/trail centres as they're not as 'restrictive' :cough: and the others, endura and pearl izumi are better for full days in the saddle as the fit is better.

Did the Decathlon shorts help with the numbness? If not it may be worth trying a different saddle instead, one with a bit more pressure relief.

Les Dawson, I was about 7-8 doing the Manchester to Blackpool vintage car run, he was in the car behind all the way there, we (me and three others roughly the same age) spend the whole journey with us pulling faces at him out of the back window, and he was pulling faces and mucking about back at us. When we got to blackpool he came over to see us and our parents and had a chat. Legend.

More recently, Jimmy Carr in a Starbucks in Manchester, in the queue next to him, he could see I was doing a double take so actually said hi to me first. Came across really well.

local shop location is just to the right of the two riders, as it was just a prefab for the show, you can make out Marsden in the background, and the straight road from MM's picture on the right

in fact one of those two specks is MarsdenMan himself chasing up Bunnyhop.

If you want it light (& lighter than your Trailstar) have you considered the Scandal instead of an Inbred? Comes up quite a bit lighter and has the same (or very similar) geometry.

You may be able to pick up a nice Toyota Yaris for that price, the 1.4d4-d engine is great and will easily do 50+, or the 1.3 petrol is also good.

Other small economical cars worth a nosey I guess would be, 1.4tdci fiesta, maybe an early Honda Jazz, Fabia (again with the polo chassis/engines). think the 1.5dci micra is also in the £30pa tax bracket.

Apparently neighbouring Dubai Television has refused permission to broadcast 'The Flintstones'.

A spokesman for the channel said:

"A claim was made that people in Dubai would not understand the humour… but we have heard that people in Abu Dhabi Do"

    :groan: 😆

Worth trying Samuri's idea 1st as it'll be cheaper, but if that fails….

I must admit I swap one of my saddles from my on-one to my road bike when I go out on it, the seating position will be different, but I still find it the most comfortable option, it's nothing special, just a bodyfit ti railed job.

Have a Charge spoon on my FS that I couldn't get on with on my road bike though so I guess it's just a case of suck it and see (not literally, that's be pretty manky!)
