Hora, it’s a new shape 3dr A180 CDI Avantgarde, and very nice it is too (well to me it is anyway).

As above, the 100hp does egg you on. Especially with the ‘sport’ button on.

Interior was fine, have seen one or two where the drivers seat was a little ‘soft’ looking on the bolster you swing a leg over to get out, but it never happened to mine.

The only thing I did to mine was get a decent bit of carpet for the back (to cover the boot and seatbacks when flattened). to keep it looking fresh.

I think Hora’s comment is more that it’s a small is car that has a bit of a premium due to it’s rarity, and that for a similar amount you could pick up something bigger/more powerful. Depends what you fancy though. I changed from a Yaris T-Sport to the Panda, and then from the Panda to a Merc A-Class…

    OK, here I am….

yeah I had one (hence the name). It was an ace little car, bags of fun, loads of grip and enough power for small car. I had a blue 57 reg one, did nigh on 30,000 miles, only paid for service and tyres, no other worries.

It’s got some punto mechanicals, but its not ‘based’ on a punto. the Fiat 500 and New for Ka are very closely based on it. EVO did love theres, to the point that they actually kept the test car to be a long termer.

You can get a bike (two at a squeeze) in the back, both wheels off, or they have roof bar mounts already (see below).

I averaged 42mpg in mine, but could get around 48-50 on a longer motorway trip.

check out fiatforum.com as there’s a good panda section on there.

Willing to answer any other queries.

    Keith

Mrs HP flicks through the magazines I buy… think she’s got a thing for cyclists legs! She comments on the prices of bikes, but then the biggest adverts tend to be for the £2000-3000 bikes, so my suggestions of anything less than that have so far been met with a look of ‘boys and their toys, tut tut!’ rather than a denial 🙂

oh, and she knows the value of the current 3 for the house insurance, and found it funny when she added it up!

Yeah, I have used my laptop like that in the past for movies etc as the laptop has a blu-ray player… works fine for me, nice and clear.

Another Defender vote here, and I’ll say a 110 (not that I’m biased!) Doesn’t lose out much to a 90 off road, but the added space is handy.

Civic Type-R? or even a New Cooper S… is your current one a Supercharged, or the newer Turbo one? Or even one of those Countryman jobbies if the 4×4 is important.

    @ Maccruiskeen:

I thought all we did on here was talk about and buy shiny things for our bikes… not actually ride them , in which case this fits perfectly.

Admittedly if you wanted to actually ‘ride’ your bike, a normal car with a boot or rack would probably suit just fine 😉

If you can get to the recovery console using the XP cd, try and run

    chkdsk -r

This should run a system file checker and re-add/replace files it finds to be corrupt. Can take a while to run through, but what’ve you got to lose eh?

Also if you’re worried about losing data, you can get laptop hard-drive caddies for a few pounds online so you can copy info off to another PC before rebuilding.

    Yeah, alloy nips 🙁

I’ve never tried to do more than one/two at a time so far, so don’t know if I could/couldn’t do a whole wheel… would I need a proper jig?

Wheels are due a service, freehub seems fine, but was just thinking ‘in for a penny, in for a pound’!

    Cheers

City centre and main roads are fine at the moment ice wise. As Philfive says, does seem to be issues on the M6/M62 around here at the moment though.

    BTW…. Meatloaf?

Probably just means the fluid that’s in the pump is frozen solid so the pump can’t actually turn… try again mid afternoon (if we crack into positive figures)! And stick a bottle of fluid in your car so you can at least get out and rinse it manually if needed.

planet-x are doing a full carbon with SRAM rival for £999, that’s pretty good value.

Another one for Ginger Beer here… there’s some really good ones out there, Bundaberg and Fever Tree are fairly easy to get hold of (Sainsbury’s by me does the Fever Tree one).

We have a 37″ Panasonic plasma and a 32″ Sony Bravia (the product of merging 2 houses into one)! You’d be hard pushed to say one was better than the other. Black is black on the Plasma, but the Bravia handles it very well too.

A standard definition signal looks a bit worse than a CRT on all flat screens in my opinion (most likely because they’re generally larger so stretched further), but you’ll forget about it pretty soon, and the advantages of brighter colours, compatability (hdmi etc) far out weigh it.

As for the HDMI, yes there’s a nice debate somewhere on here, but for a normal length (i.e. bluray under a TV on a stand a poundland job will be just as good as a £30 job as it’s a digital signal… 1’s & 0’s in one end, 1’s and 0’s out the other, job done).

Considered holding on until January for a bit of sales action? Might get a better deal… Or try Richer Sounds for one off’s/end of line.

Is the one in Lindley still going too?

I guess it’s like a lot of toy/small items, unless it’s got the original packaging, and has no marks on it then it may aswell be played with. Get value in enjoyment rather than worth.

Freelander 2? Should be able to pick up a Diesel one in the price range. Big improvement over the 1st gen ones, and very capable off road considering it’s ‘baby landy’ status.

I’m all for Rescue/rehomed dogs… this little fella came from a Springer Rescue who’d had a litter donated to them, he’s half working / half show breed springer, so about the least mixed breed of the lot! He’s coming up to four months old and is fantastic, too clever for his own good sometimes, but that’s “character” isn’t it??? 😉

My parents on the other hand have an 18 month old Springerdoodle, which is very loveable but slightly too boisterous.

Guess it depends on your location (city, town, rural) and the nature of your business.

Small offices in towns and citys in ‘managed suites’ should be easy enough to find, although for an individual may not be that cost effective.

Places like this in Manchester are increasing in popularity Manchester Science Park.

Otherwise if you know anyone else that’s self employed and has a small office, they may be willing to let you bunk up with them for a small fee (every penny helps at the moment). I know a couple of people who share an office for two seperate businesses, and they seem to make it work easy enough.
