The only thing I’d pondered over was a seat clamp with a twisty ‘kn0b’ rather than a lever, making it possible to twist… drop…. tighten on the move, even if you have to get off or stop to pull it back up again.

3:30 finish for me… out on the bike by 4:15ish…. does that count as early?

Woah, that is one ugly bike/fork – I also don’t like the way the downtube looks like it’s sagging. A curvy frame can be nice, but that looks like it’s been melted.

Still, if it rides well does it matter?

milton for 10-15mins, or coke left in there for an hour or two should do the trick, and like the above, rinse with milton, then freeze (empty) between rides does the trick.

like one_bad_mofo I’ve got a Decathalon one, a year older than that but a campag 3×10 setup, same frame. I’ve done plenty miles on that, great fun, nice and light. I’d been looking at Trek, LeMond, Spesh etc too, and thought this looked better for the money if you’re not a badge snob.

NWMTB list them on their site, but with no indicator of stock level, might be worth giving them a ring (if you haven’t already) 0161 428 3311

Not had an A2, but have had two VAG cars with the same 1.4tdi block in, and it’s a cracking engine, think the A2’s has a little more power too (90bhp as opposed to 75bhp in the Polo’s).

I like the look of A2’s as well. Way ahead of their time.

I’ve got both a HTC Wildfire & an iPhone 4 (work and personal). I’m no big Apple fanboi, but the iPhone is way better, much slicker, more responsive, amazing array of apps etc.

Also iOS 4.3 update coming soon lists the ability to turn devices into hotspots.

Other things to consider are if you’re raising the ground level next to your house are you going close to any damp course, or drains etc.

and when you build the shed allow room for air to circulate properly around to aid drying of the shed & the walls of your house.

I have a 7×5 shed, 3 bikes, some storage shelves and a few garden bits, and it’s just about at capacity.

Try and work it to your advantage…. compare yourself to those folks in a job with a notice period, and you who could start there and then!

Been made redundant twice in the past, never found it a problem, keep plugging away!

Call me an old cynic, but… I had been waiting until I got a nice offer email from CRC to buy a bike bag from them it was £59.99 the other day… Got my email, grabbed my card to pay, popped on-line, and hey presto… £69.99 🙄

    Maybe I’m just unlucky…

if you’re not planning on carting about with you everywhere you go, have a look into a network attached one, so you can sit plugged in your router at home and then connect via wireless wherever you’re sat at home.

    something like this….

    Brilliant, cheers guys.

The Wedding is on the Saturday the day after “will’s and kate’s royal knee’s up” which means I’ll be off work on the Friday (Bank Holiday woohoo). I’m tempted to drive down Thursday night to get a full day on the Friday!

Have to agree with a few of the comments, about it’s not all about the bike. I think lowey is spot on, the company and scenery can make a huge difference too. Take last weekend for example…. My folks 60th on Saturday night, and a ride 60 miles away the morning after, could have stayed late got plastered and not bothered riding, but the prospect of getting cold, wet and muddy with a good bunch of folks, and spotting hills, fells and limestone pavements through the mist was too good to miss.

Keep focussing on gentle pootles about on sunny days, on whatever’s left in the garage/shed and build up from there. Hopefully catch you at some point on a forum ride too, it’s not the same without being able to send you into puddles and streams first for the ton depth test!

pressure washer underneath should be fine, and from a distance over the rest of the car too to loosen dirt. then I’d look at getting some ‘snow foam’ this stuff, it’s great at working through greasey road film and salt.

my road bike was from decathlon, carbon forks and seat stays, campag mirage groupset, rigida wheels…. very comfy and nippy, £450 a couple of years ago… all it’s had since are tyres and pads.

like suggested it’s the best way to make the most of your biking time, but I always feel nervous when it turns wet/greasy on the roads and grab my MTB instead over winter.

not a big listing, just one property, but highly recommended if you want something a bit posh. (and not too far from Wales)
