Many years ago I was cycling in Richmond (Surrey) in when the bus next to me flashed a car to turn across its, and my, path into a car park. I hit the car at speed ending up on the roof of it, my wheels (Spinergy Rev-X no less) and forks snapped. I wasn’t hurt fortunately. The car driver’s insurance paid up within a week new for old
In ear I have Shure 535s which I really enjoy. I prefer them to the much more expensive ACS T1 custom in ears which are a little too light in the bass. I looked at loads of over ear headphones and eventually settled on V-MODA Crossfade M100s
I would expect your company to ask you to undertake a medical, or at least meet with an occupational health specialist. You need to chase your GP to provide your report.
I had a pulmonary embolism on Dec 17th. The pain is still too much for me to ride. The consultant I’ve spoken to is quite happy for me to get back to cycling once the warfarin has reduced the clot to a size where it’s not causing pain
It’s worth checking it is actually tennis elbow rather than many other conditions it could be. If it is then this is one of the most effective exercises:
Lots of ‘good’ STW vituperative comments about this.
I had a a great experience with Bikelab in Richmond and bought a Lynskey Sportive. Loads of time was spent on fitting and on the subsequent build. Same year I also shopped at Bicycle in Richmond (excellent) and Sigma (OK). Personally I think it’s a shame they have closed.
I’ve had a few Ti bikes and currently own a Seven Axiom SL and a Lynskey Sportive (for winter duties). The Lynskey is surprisingly good in comparison to the Seven. I also own a ‘pro’-oriented carbon road bike and both Ti bikes compare very favourably in terms of comfort and stiffness
So how do people deal with big pain? I’ve been discharged today, my ribs are spasming and it’s firkin painful. Morphine was good but they won’t allow out of hospital. MTFU is not going to cut it
Well – they are working out which drug is right for me. As I have a low platelet count (~100) it looks like warfarin. Crap night last night eventually helped with some morphine
I don’t believe you can transfer maps between any different software vendors – this is down to the rights from OS. You can plan on one and transfer the route to a GPS but not the map
Thanks. Slackalice – your second para is spot on. Cycling is the one thing that allows me meditation time so it’s frustrating that I have to curtail it
Yes, I have the M sport adaptive suspension on my 330d. Gives 4 different modes: economy; comfort; sport; sport+. Different response and suspension in each one
Which version of the Wattbike do you use – the Pro or Trainer? They both seem to have advantages disadvantages. The Pro seems biased towards higher wattages and the Trainer more suitable for longer sessions with more spinning at lower watts
Well that’s my understanding of how the warranty should work. They are new and unused and I have fitted hundreds of pedals and don’t believe it’s user error. It could be as you’ve suggested iainc
SME 10, SME IV, Lyra Helikon, EAR 834P, MF Nu-Vista M3, Linn Akurate DS, Vienna Acoustics Beethoven speakers for the main system. Naim Unitiqute and Guru speakers for bedroom.
Where abouts do you get the pain in your head? I went to the doctors today as I’ve had a headache since Friday. He thinks it’s neck/posture related and wants me to see a physio
It’s also possible the OP gets exercise induced migraine. I take a couple of painkillers before I go on the ride, make sure I properly hydrate and continue to do so over the ride. Some studies suggest that supplementing Vitamin B and/or magnesium can help but I’ve not found that to help
