    Thanks

It is weighted towards military combat and seeks to extend the work reported on in this study, https://apps.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a612103.pdf, which looks at hand-to-hand combat in US military engagements 2004-2008

As well as tiny torches I’ve bought a few pocket tools, primarily knife based. I particularly like the BigiDesign TPT Slider (on the left below)

Just bought this torch, the RovyVon Aurora A4x ti. It’s tiny but can output 650 lumens. It’s very impressive.

Happens on Roval wheels too. I use a little PTFE spray which works

^^ I read it like this too – missing the ‘f’ of ‘for’

    What a choice….

Personally I would use cool white LEDs as I find it the most useful light to work with

I had an ablation in ’15 and again in ’18 for AF. I recovered pretty quickly in both cases and cycled 12k km in ’16 and 11k km in ’19. However, I don’t think I’d have been ready for a race 2-3 months after. Post my ’18 ablation I have chosen to remain on beta-blockers, with the support from my cardiologist, which takes my max HR down from about 172 to 150 in most circumstances. I’ve adapted well to the HR range I now have.

    Good luck with the ablation.

The ride I was doing was an 80km ‘gravelcross’ (Wildwood CX – really recommend it) so, in this instance, a gravel bike was probably overall better as there were quite a few road sections.

I do understand why an MTB would be better and really appreciate the other advice given

Hi all – thanks for your msgs. He’s fine, in fact far less stressed than I am about it all.

Didn’t realise there are so many Twickenhamites on here (we should do a ride!) – it was on Cole Park Road, just north of the station.

I hope the nephew with the fracture skull makes a very rapid recovery. I’m very sorry to hear about his injury.

Yes, it maybe a size thing. My son is very broad and strong (can bench lift me no problem).

I had it done in front of a whole load of medical students. My bladder was filled with water for a test and once the catheter was removed I resembled a mini fountain – not remotely humiliating 🤣

I’ve got the Silca Superpista Ultimate with the Hiro chuck. Best pump I’ve used. It replaced a Lezyne with the screw on chuck which was ok

I bought the Dart (2 repairs) and the refill (5 repairs)

I’ve used the Dynaplug for two gravel bike punctures at 50psi – the first took a while to seal but eventually did, the second was immediate. Both while using Orange Endurance sealant

MSP – you’d just pull the sharp bits out before putting in an inner tube

It’s £25, not £35 – still expensive but the two times I’ve had punctures this year have been in grim conditions so the ability to fix quickly makes the cost more than worthwhile (Dynaplug in these particular cases)

Mine has just arrived. Not used it yet. Currently have Dynaplug equivalent that has worked well on the last two punctures I’ve had recently

Scotroutes – I’ve not checked yet. Picking up the bags in a couple of days and will look at fit.

Crogthomas – it’s an Edelux – comes with a bracket which would work well for a hole in the crown but not underneath it.
