I never received an email reminder that renewal was forthcoming; I’ve double-checked.  That might count in favour of PayPal viewing my claim in a positive light….

Had all those before being diagnosed with Type 1 some 25yrs ago; it isn’t the end of the world – there’s plenty of us here.

I’ve never heard of ‘impaired glucose intolerance’.  Oh, weight loss too besides all the symptoms above – I lost 1.5st in a week or so.

It was only a matter of time before you two came across each other, especially as you live so close!  Turns out I’ve known his wife for several years, same job different school.

There isn’t much Jonnie doesn’t know about trees, wood – and (how I got to know him) woodturning.

This website and forum is immensely helpful and helped me make several purchases with which I’m very pleased.

The difference between flux core (gasless) and welding with Argon mix is far from inconsiderable.  And don’t skimp on the PPE; an auto-darkening mask makes things much easier.

I bought one direct from Lego soon after it came out as at the time it was alleged to have been a short-term, limited edition set and I thought its value would appreciate.  And I paid £250.

Anyhoo… two years later its still available… and available at almost half what I paid.

I’m just leaving it in the original packaging, still sealed and will wait… and wait… and wait…

£1.25mil for a spitfire is nothing compared to the running costs, were you to actually fly it.

I think you might be two decimal points out there..!

Another vote for the Merkur Futur.

There was a long, long running thread on shaving several years ago on here, I did have it saved as a favourite but when the ‘new’ forum came along all was lost…  It had loads of information and experiences on it.

    EDIT – Found it:

I bought my first decent hi-fi from Richer Sounds in Bristol in the early 90’s and got a handwritten postcard from Julian Richer thanking me for my custom.

I’d say it is good rather than creepy CS!

On a more serious note, when you are walking a dog you only meet two types of people.

People who will try and invite your dogs attention and people who won’t.

It’s not hard to train the dog to ignore everyone unless they make it clear that they want to pet the dog.

There are no bad dogs only bad owners.

edit: My mistake. There’s a third type. The arsehole who’ll swing a kick at a dog.

Agree, largely – I beg to differ on the third type.  As a very last resort I would reserve the right to swing a kick at a dog if it attacked either of mine and its owner was unable to or disinterested in controlling his own.  Whether or not that makes me an a-hole in anyone’ books…

Then I can start reviewing results vs predictions and breakdown of gender and SIMD category for the meeting with no biscuits with the head.

Aah, yes.  Back to work on Monday for two inset days; sat on our arses in the main hall for illegible PowerPoint presentations and finding out the latest catchphrases and buzzwords in education.  And then looking at our results and writing reports on seeing how we compared to the fictitious school that INSIGHT has generated.

Of course, we could actually spend much of the time actually preparing ourselves and thinking about the teaching and learning but that would be too practical and fruitful.

Finished a few welding projects recently – the bench was going to be a Paul Sellers style woodwork bench but the laminated top I’d made warped and twisted and using the MIG welder was much more fun.  The stool was made from leftover box section from the bench and the seat I made on the woodlathe from iroko.

op, i understand your reasons for being unhappy with nokia, but the new 6.1 is getting decent reviews.

    I’ve got the 6.1.

And I’ve got the microphone problem that he had too; seems to be a glitch that arrived with the 8.1.0 Android update… seems to have affected several phones, not just Nokia.  I’m holding out for the next update that’ll hopefully fix it.

At the time, mid-80’s, I still think that a-ha’s ‘Take On Me’ broke new ground.

I offered to buy my 5yo nephew one decent, proper tool for each birthday and Christmas so that by the time he reached adulthood he’d have a decent set of tools.  Alas this, what I considered a thoughtful and practical idea, was declined by my sister who wanted him to have a toy one NOW!

It’s the Nokian WRD4’s I have on steel rims sat in the garage for my Mazda 3 – I’ve been happy but haven’t had any others to compare to as I had the D3’s on the Mini Cooper, my previous car – that should’ve had TPMS valves fitted but didn’t… the Mazda uses wheel revolutions for its TPMS.

I paid £294.80 for all four from tyreleader.com early last October, 205/60 R16 96H XL – thought I’d go for the reinforced ones as we live kinda rurally and some of the roads are very potholed…

As an aside ry33 I take it that your TPMS system (assuming your car is new enough to have one) works from wheel rotation rather than sensors in the valve.?  Thought I’d mention as you’ve said you’ve sourced some other rims.  TPMS Not working in a car that has it fitted is, I think I’m right in saying, an MOT failure.

Doubt it, and I don’t think energy would be the same.  If you meet a car doing 80km/h and you’re doing, say, 30km/h that’s a combined 110km/h – but if you hit stationary ground it’s only the latter..?

It’s a standard complaint about lezyne, they’ve released a couple of revisions, some of which they had the cheek to charge for, but they still do it when a £3 pump from tesco doesn’t.

    @Northwind
    – what are these revisions you refer to?  Are they to resolve this issue?  Ta.
