halfords sell VP sealed BB’s for 9.99. Will have 118s in stock in 99% stores.

Jam Bo has it, because the website price matches to the online giants to drive sales to Halfords rather than the competition. The average punter doesn’t check online for an innertube though.

To throw in my 2 cents, I have a Zenith (without hood) and a few seams are coming apart. It is a month old, so i have contacted evans to return it for a replacement. Otherwise, fit, function and build quality are good.

We use the threaded Wheels MFG ones at work. No complaints so far.

Yes, it’s all in the 8mm. Ignore the 10mm unless it’s managed to work itself loose somehow.

I’ve got the fluro green 10spd version and it’s cracking, the brakes are almost worth it alone.

A fox died in our garden this time last year, checked and council said they would charge to dispose as it was on private property. It was frozen solid so I quadruple bin bagged it and binned it.

Maybe check out Cycle Republic in Euston? I know it’s the dreaded orange H but the boss is a mate and the shop is supposed to be good.

Just cancel the direct debit and it will go away, worked with the couple I’ve ended.

I posted a set of Avids a couple of months back, no hassle. I put a padded envelope in the box the replacement Shimano ones came in so they didn’t rattle and wasn’t even asked the value of the package.

paid for next day dpd from wiggle to work for convenience, driver didn’t even leave the depot til half 12, and my parcel arrived an hour after I’d left work. Waste of money, usually fine though.
PS: I apparently signed for it too.

If that game is anything to go by, UTD do need a Di Maria type, someone with a bit of energy and a will to attack. They seemed way to slow to go forward and Rooney often resorting to starting a move from deep isn’t great. After Di Maria is in and presuming Rojo doesn’t get arrested they still need another defender and a central/defensive mid. Don’t have to be world class bonkers expensive but solid and willing to work would be a good start.

We’ve had that from time to time, helps us out as it’s usually on old stock we aren’t shifting.

The models we do in Halfords are f*cking dreadful, and overpriced. No doubt they are specific to us and specced by our buyers but still.

I ordered some BMX wheels from them a couple of years ago, knowing they were awaiting stock, didn’t need them right away so wasn’t bothered. They said they would send them ASAP but ETA to them was over a week. The wheels turned upon my doorstep 2 days later. Only thing I have bought from them, and I’ve heard horror stories.

I had a Filter Hi 2012, and generally liked it. It was weighty, the tyres brakes were arse but the ride quality and Tiagra drivetrain was fine. I swapped the brakes for TRP Spyres and had no issues. Tektro Lyra brakes have some of the wonkiest rotors I’ve seen, we sell a couple of bikes with them and they all wobble to some degree.
PS Charge pleather bar tape is also shocking. Good thing the bike was a good £400 cheaper than rrp when i bought it, full price is a bit of a rip off.
    No pics, sorry.

I work in a Halfords and we seem to be the only store that doesn’t adhere to the gold/silver/bronze service tree. We do what is asked/required, don’t overcharge and often won’t charge for small stuff.
There are many of us with formal qualifications (Cytech etc) and they recently paid out for the top 50 stores to do a cycle technician training course at a training centre they set up. Only a pilot scheme so not fully accredited yet but we are assured it was more thorough than Cytech 2 + wheelbuilding.

One thing i would ask of you is IF you have an issue with Halfords service, deal with it instore with the manager first, as any complaint lodged via customer services just gets shunted back to the store manager to deal with anyway.

TL;DR don’t bother with gold/silver/bronze service, chances are all same.

Suprisingly easy, i thought it would be a mess of small parts. use sheldonbrown.com to find the appropriate guide.

Seems like a pretty sorry state at United. Rumours flying around about all sorts of things, for instance Joey Barton was tweeting how he had heard Vidic changes away from the rest of the team like an outcast. Pundits and journos alike were scathing yesterday, can’t see how Moyes can continue past this season.

I have one, already had keyboard and mouse from previous mac and don’t need a disc drive. It worked out around half the price of an equivalent all in one mac.

26 may well be all but dead for new bikes, all the 2014 Carrera MTBs (inc. Subway) are 27.5, and Halfords already do a £150 29er. I know you lot don’t care about such things but if the biggest bike retailer in the country is going 27.5 then it says a lot. 26 will still be supported obviously, there’s so many of them about.

The Unior one is pretty good, use it as a secondary/spare one at work. Otherwise, tried a long threaded rod with nuts and washers?

Not at all worried about mine, used on the road only and work so much better than any other cable disc brake. Upgrade also didn’t have any when I tried to order some through work so had to pay more to buy them elsewhere. Maybe they underestimated the interest.
