She is of no value to them so they’re loathe to have credit capacity tied up with clients who dont pay interest on their credit.

Definitely, shes not spending any money and she doesn’t pay any interest.

If shes you’re wife and you trust her why not get a joint card?

I’d be interested to hear why, since its the combo I have!

Ok, Im at a t-junction trying to turn right. Its busy i’ve been sitting there a while. A gap appears thats small but safe provide I react promptly and then this happens:

    1. press gas pedal in an attempt to move out, car creeps forward barely moving.
    2. Give it more gas, car still barely moving other cars are approaching!
    3. Give it lots of gas, car drops gear revs increase turbo kicks in and now we have wheelspin! The car ends up making a drama out of what should be a simnple manouver.

The 2.0tdi engine is ok, the DSG gearbox is ok but they combine horribley.

    My main car is manual.

Very few auto ‘boxes that I like to be honest. Our A3 is DSG and its an awful thing, combines very badly with its 2.0tdi engine.

Grosvenor by Victoria isn’t total Bosnia, but personally I’d budget at least 200 if you’re staying central.

    Over £500.

I deliberatley go overboard on this stuff. It’s just like buying a giant stack of get out of jail free cards.

Accidentally order a can of coke for 7 euros once.

I happily pay £3.50 for a pint, it generally means im drinking someone free from chavs and people with beards.

Nothing I’d want to buy at that price.

Be prepared for quite a budget jump then.
A decent boxster can be had for £10k but even for a Knackered 996 coupe with mega miles on it you’d be paying 13-14k.

I was told it was Prisoner Of Millbank.

Millbank is the prison in london where the convicts were kept before they’re were loaded on the boats to goto australia.

You cant really protect an idea.

I’d hazard if your idea was any good you’d actually want to do it. Makes me think its not and that what anyone who you pitched it to would think too.

How much do you want for it, I have a jar of paper clips and half a sausage roll here?

    Nothing you can do.

Worth noting that link is from 2004, capital gains tax rules have certainly changed significantly since then!

The barn sounds like it’s on your door step. I’d think about taking steps to ensure that any developer builds something that you’re happy living next to. My fathers house has convenants over 2 adjacent properties after a similar situation. They can’t add windows over looking his porperty or build any further extensions. Something like that might be worth looking into.

Lastly, you’re devaluing your own home, I’d be interested in getting an idea of by how much if I were you.

A friend of mine had similar a few years ago.

From what I remember the titanium rod will take the weight meaning that she can use her legs much sooner than if she had a lesser break and didn’t have the rod.

My friend was up and about on crutches almost immediatley after the operation. I cant remember how long he had a cast on for though.

The margin seems excessive? Its healthy sure but in comparison to many companies thats by no means excessive.

Morally I think a companies first responsibility is to its employees. Money like that keeps r&d and aquisitions running and ensures a healthy future for the company.

Lovely car daffy, CSLs look great, not sure on the roof though. Hell of a lot of car for £16k.

If you drive a porsche you’ll have to be prepared for hatred from other drivers and races from boy racers almost daily.

Never experienced any of that. I think thats perhaps a conclusion some drivers jump to when someone doesn’t let them out “ooh it must be because of me fancy porsche” when really people are just driving like the always do.

    – cocktails at the Hilton, with the glass floor, etc

    Avoid this like the plague.

Massive queue at all times to get up there and full of asshats who thinking they’re the cream of high society because they’re drinking at a bar in a hilton hotel.

big problem is the 6 week timescale

6 weeks? I assume thats london-nyc(or similar) and then by land? No way you’d get something shipped all the way in six weeks.

I can get a quote for you but it’ll be in line with figures mentioned.

Bullbearings is good if you want to have a mess about.

    Things to bear in mind:

A Trade will cost you about £13
Shares have a buy and a sell price just like currency.
You’ll have to pay stamp duty on trades greater than £1000
You’ll have to pay capital gains tax if you make more than £10k profit(that includes other things too like selling a house)

Just like gambling where everyone you speak to is up the same seems to go for people who dabble in shares.

Never been myself but thought about it alot and spoken to lots of people who have.

I can’t afford to walk away from my current car as a total loss with no insurance pay out. Until I can I really don’t think I’d be happy taking a car round there.

There are plenty of stunning, quiet roads in that part of the world. You’ll find me tehre instead.

If you’ve synced your phone since getting the app, then itunes should prompt you to download the update and you can then transfer the update via sync.

I cant think of any reasonable reason to do things in such a convoluted way? Unless you have no 3G and no wireless in which case getting an iphone was probably a bit of waste of time.

I take the train to work because its cheaper and faster than a car. All the shops I need to survive are within walking distance of my house too.

But I still have a car that does 20mpg, it’s great fun and if it riles up a few hippies then I’m just that little bit happier.

The only quattro A3 worth getting would be an S3 or RS3. Pretty pointless otherwise I think.

    horatio

Also the 3 is starting to suck as they release new versions of IOS.

They seem to design the IOS for the 4 and don’t bother with a trimmed down version for the 3. Everytime I do a software update my phone seems to get a bit clunkier.

Thinking about it, some american chap had a ipad case with a handle in the hotel I was in the otherweek. It looked pretty silly to be honest.

I have a leather case from bill amberg for mine. Excellent protection but you have to remove it from the case to use it.

Apparently someone in the states makes suits with a giant pocket for your ipad too!

surely its too small and light to warrent a bag with a strap?

    Just get a case.

I’ve got all my flatmates via easyroommate so I wouldn’t say they’re rubbish. Being a landlord makes me the boss though so if its not working I have a clear out and we start from scratch!

Good flat shares take effort, if you’re not reasonabley social and cook for others or say “lets goto the pub” occasionally then no one else will.

A half cover sounds like a pain.

It’ll need to be anchored, the pics i’ve seen use the door handles and not sure what they do front and back. I imagine they flap about a lot.

Happy to be proved wrong but I just cant see a half cover being anything other than a flappy mess.
