I had one on a MX5- the rear foot (that sits ontop of the boot) had a tendancy to move around so I’d helitape the top of the boot rather than use a cloth (it flicks it off).

    Nice car BTW :)

Calm down :) You need to get a champion/someone on the otherside on your side. More than likely the person that you will speak to/deal wont have been responsible for this cockup. Ask them for proof of the first email/notification/post. If they can’t find it then they should feel obliged to reschedule- all the best :)

Honestly? I’m not really bothered. I actually like his unruly nature.. Drives my girlfriend crackers mind. I couldnt even bring myself to kick the Staff that bit him a few weeks back. Don’t know, violence to a dog, its not on.

Going back a bit but my size 8 girlfriend was walking him once (on a lead) and a bloke took a swing at him with his foot as he said the dog was ‘getting too close’ on a canal footpath. Bingo was under control as she walks him on a tight leash.

Says it all really about the sort of men who would kick a dog. I doubt anyone dog-kickers on this thread would kick the dog of a football hooligan hey? Thought not. Good bye.

I believe ALL dog owners should have to have a licence to handle dogs. To achieve this they must attend classes on how to train their dog, and how to be responsible with it.

I once attended puppy training classes and gave up. Never trained our dog. When I swear ‘come here now you little chunt’ – he knows he has to. I must admit though (sick of pretending to be a stw-goodie) you can spot the types who dont like dogs a mile away- I dont recall him until after hes jumped up. That includes members of certain religions and sulky-looking blokes.
He never chases bikes but loves people (too much). This isn’t a troll- it is **** funny to watch though.

As CaptainMainwaring says. In the current climate/at the very least you should be looking to pay indie dealer book for a main dealer car IMO. Buy it if you must have it however remember its true value will be far lower when you come to sell on…A main dealer asking for 2007 prices is abit rude. Imagine a Estate Agent saying their market is robust and keeping their prices high (cough Sale, Manchester cough)..

Stop bleating hora? ok ok. :)

If I bought a bike for my OT I’d go for as light as possible- extra weight must be really hard on the fairer sex and the cheaper budget bikes must weigh a ton!

    mrmichaelwright ditto the normally-aspired 1.4, 1.6 and 2.0 petrols (not FSI’s).

Don’t flame me for this but why dont you also look at the Octavia (NEW shape). I looked last week and you can pick up the new shape Octavia estate VRS (2.0Turbo) for under 10k with average miles! Tempting. They also have the same engine line up. I’m no fan of the mkV Golf (I owned a 3dr GT TDI) and the pain flaked on the roof and the interior plastics/fabric seemed to be made of chocolate/fabrics pulled/pilled easily.

Brooes I’d expect to pay 8k for a TDI mkV Golf. Most certainly not for a 2005 1.6 FSI. BTW- why does it have to be a main dealer?! Where do you think they source their stock from? Its not trade-in, usually it can be ex-fleet or shock….auctions.

A main dealer should sort out scratches/chips anyway, as should any good indie dealer. Moreso the Main dealers as its in their blurb (100 checks-bollox).

Seriously, shop around. Where do you live roughly? (I’ll do a autotrader and dealer search!).

I’ve got a 306 sat on my drive. Local MOT centre knows the details and says they have insurance to pickup and drive car to station. They cant lie or ‘wing it’ can they now?!!

If said “victim” was shocked/traumatised etc by the incident, why didn’t he complain at the time a

To who? How? One is in the to the throne you know. If your overseas in Pakistan how do you do spoke colloquial racial insults?

Who cares? Inbred toff shown to hold childish racist views. Whats more sad is people dying or maimed for the ‘Queen’ on pisspoor salaries.

The Gazza strip is surely one beautiful strip of real estate. Think of it as the last piece in the Israeli jigsaw. Look at the map. Solution? Push the nuisances into the fellow Arab country…

I_Ache soz- didnt see the change in font colour (hard to see on my monitor).

I dont tend to get many punctures- I would say that normally but my bike is next to my desk with a sodding FRONT puncture on a thick Maxxis tyre at the moment

Do they have a retail-side? Might be an idea (mrcrushrider) to go to a service centre only for your Ford service. I imagine a few companies are trying to claw back ‘sales’ (revenue) on the service side to make up for lower retail sales.

You dont know what stress etc there is within the material- Im no engineer and someone hopefully will be along soon but it’ll probably ‘ping’ and ‘go’ when you least expect it? Hey, in these situations it pays to be over-cynical than suck soup through a straw.

Its the first time its happened since I bought them many many years ago with zero maintenance. Admittably Im not a good rider however the braking bumps and trailing the rear brake everywhere cant have done the rear hub any favours (vibrations etc etc)

Tell me more about your method- do your tyres need to be new?

Stripped, cleaned with a toothbrush, washing up liquid, liberal doses of GT85 (to get rid of all hidden water etc) then I rummaged around and found some 5cwt fork oil…sounds alittle ‘different’ but it works! The teeth etc all seem to be ‘as new’ as well. Far far easier than I thought it would be. Cheers guys. :D

    http://www.northern-scot.co.uk/news/fullstory.php/aid/6700/Moray_man_sues_after_horror_jump.html

No offence to the lad but if your riding a new trail with jumps for the first time arent you supposed to take it easy? Check it our first? If your plough into it surely you have to be of a certain technical competence. I’m not so first time down a trail I’ll always take it easy. No other fellow riders will pay my bills whilst Im convalescing so its called using your common sense. In your 30’s you should know better. Sounds harsh but its **** true.

What next? The trail was too rocky, a rider falls off. The court inspects said-trail (non-riders) and says ‘whooooaaa’ I couldnt ride that? I know they would bring in experts from the industry etc to give evidence but the way it’ll go would be completely smooth, sanitised trail centres.. no offence to Whinlatter but watching a vid- it looks almost footpath like? Anyone been there yet?

bigsi, I wouldnt be able to cope. When I was younger I saw three people knocked down (two killed instantly) by a bus. Without sounding callous it didnt phase me. However recently on a Westie rescue website I saw a picture of a Westie that had been hit by a spade in the head causing massive damage (contacted charity and the dog in question has made a recovery with a foster family). That image affected me ‘a little’. I cant stand animal cruelty. If man cant be kind to those that cant defend themselves then he doesnt deserve to live (all IMO of course).

Love the Elise. Bolloxs that you’ll tire of the road/noise. Like everything the plus’s will outweigh the minus’s.

If it is your only car- save a grand and buy a snotter for daily (10m radius duties).

I’ve owned two MX5’s – yes the back reflectors of approaching headlamps are eye level and you do get the odd cock on a TataRangeRover coming behind you on motorways thinking you must be a diddy-sized adult. Who cares though? They rip. Goes back to do you drive to arrive (A-B) or do you drive because you love the experience as well along the way?
