flange transfer box works fine though. I tried it yesterday.

dual mass flywheel- Will check if it does..

Tractor? I love it. Tonka, it smells like a slurry pit inside, the footwells are full of wrappers etc and the rear seats are covered in dog-footprints.

Thank you for your thoughts PP. Appreciated.

Guys, lets not forget that peoples views are subjective huh? Someone may utterly love one bike and another may not have the same setup/feel etc.

What I do love is the reviews all love the Pitch’s chassis etc but because it isnt a boutique-bike none of the gear queers will go near it.

Life time guarantee on your brakes Sir – that means they will have plenty of future opportunities to rip you off time and time again.

I did think that when I saw the Kwikfit ads……they get an opportunity to spot ‘repair opportunities’ first before anyone else!

A garage that might have a title before the word ‘clutch’ told me that I’d more than likely would need ‘this/that replacing’ even before I’d been in to see them (called)- I didnt visit.

If you want a frame that will look as good in 10 years time as it does now, provided you don’t snap it in the mean time, then ti is the only option.

disagree on that part. I marked mine after only a few weeks- top tube scratches and a deep graze all the way down one seat stay. Like everything, it depends how careful you are with your possessions and if you fall etc.

jimmy. I excessive farted due to a reaction to pork sausages/bacon (additive?). Anyway, cut this out and I hardly ever trumpet now. Kinda miss it mind :(

If you far alot, its not good. You need to change your diet/balance.

Capn’ Where did you get the deal? Bro in Law is looking to change. Are there any mileage penalties though (he does alot of miles commuting)

Plus when you fall (cough over the bars) you dont give a **** about scratching a steel frame. :D

Sticks neck out….I prefer the firmer rear of the steel though. The ti456 feels too jittery/’jumpy’. I know its probably brilliant for riders who ride very fast (when it comes alive?) but for a slow rider like me it just feels jittery at low speeds!

    My first tests would be
    a) Does it go (immediately) when i dip the clutch and coast?
    b) Does it go if I brake, lightly or firmly?
    c) Does it go immediately if I let right off the throttle? (no)

I’ll test using this criteria and comeback later on this aft.

If its a sticking piston- Armed with GT85, screwdriver etc I could try resetting myself? (of course remove pads/cover disc)

have you walked round it, grabbed each wheel and given it a good hard wobble to see if anythings moving?
    Yes.
does it make any other noises if you steer hard left or right?
    No noises.
if you’ve got alloy wheels – are they buckled?
Steel wheels. I aint no pimpy 4×4 driver 8)

when the nearside front caliper seized and wore all the pad material away.
Hmmmmmmmmm -it could be a sticking caliper however it’d pull surely to one side. Did yours pull?

takisawa2- it cant be. There are none of these signs:
A classic symptom of a bad wheel bearing is noise, so if a wheel is making "funny" noises when driving (squeaks, chirps, squeals, moans, etc.), or you hear a grinding noise when turning, it may indicate a bad wheel bearing. Other symptoms include steering wander or possibly a pull to one side when braking.

There is only a sump guard at the front. I had a peak under yesterday. Any idea what it looks like? Is that an expensive mechanical job on a vehicle – i.e do you have to remove alot (man hours) to get to change?? :?

Cheers guys. Marmoset, is it possible to self-diagnose a cv joint? Jack the car and where do you check for play?(what parts do you hold when ‘wiggling’?)….

I just want to avoid the ‘hours’ that a garage may add onto a bill whilst they diagnose a problem!

Checked the wheelnuts. 2unfit2ride all tyres are same age (except one on the rear but that was changed c2,000miles ago).

If it was say a dodgy engine mounting- you’d feel vibration at all times?

Could it be a faulty mass air flow sensor? The greater the speed etc? (I am guessing here)

Started a week ago- I dropped to 4th, floored it then changed back up and it ‘disappeared’ again. Shrugged and carried on. On Sat though it started again and progressively got worse and worse’ yesterday (on sliproad/40mph).

I really really wanted to ride again yesterday

Ps. I didnt want to drive through the vibration as the car/vibration was really bad. I’ve driven a couple of cars with bad balancing and this was alot worse- almost as though the engine was loose!

£200 @ month = Over 2grand a year. Even a 04 Octavia wouldnt depreciation that much (say <1k@yr). So you could own one and use the change to service/any consumables ontop for alot less than the cost of leasing a car. Plus you can scratch/mark it however you want. A lease car will have penalties at the end for damage….

Visit Lingscars. She does surprisingly have some good lease deals on. A previous was a Civic Type R for £220 a month inc. servicepack – open to private & business users. get passed all the fuzzy ‘noise’ on her site and the offers can be good. Cant find what you want? Email her, shes nutty (I even called her that today from a mailer she sent me)

lbs says hope are the best for the money. they don’t bother with chris king saying it’s over priced hype and not consistent quality you pay for.

I really dislike anyone who slags off anothers product. Immediately gets me thinking that they can’t get an account for some other ‘reason’.

CKs engage much faster than pro2s, they sound better and they look better

I don’t know anything about that- had my King hub since c2002. Its brake-bumped everywhere and I’ve no plans to replace it with anything else.

Pro2 aren’t even that cheap. Yes- buy savvy

Love the clip yesterday- Earls Mum was recalling the story of him pissing on the rug in the living room- cut to a small naked boy (and his Mum)…me thinking but his Mum looks the same! ….little kid wanders off and a pissed Earl wanders in and starts wazzin’. Class. Subtle.

Then there are the flashbacks- they all look the same except for bad wigs and 70’s clothing. Class.

I know its not an Audi garage but a Seat main stealer promised me that no matter what they found on a standard service they would only charge me £120 inc VAT. I repeated this to the Service Mgr and he confirmed. Turned up to find two new front tyres on the car. They came free ‘as a goodwill gesture’- well it was either that or a spanner monkey climbed round a skip looking for my exact tyres.

Call me tight but its principle.

    Front wheel drive 1.8T.

Funnily some have said the same about the 4WD system on all the Subaru’s. My arguement for that was surely the Forester was designed to be driven on rough roads/tracks anyway and English road cambers/road imperfections and potholes etc mean that a new tyre (+3/-3mm) diff is a poor arguement?

Possibly….actually through a boggy bit I spun the pedals back a notch, slackened the chain and fell sideways
