I dont get how they have a relatively high-turn out still considering Bates isnt exactly building a premiership team there is he? ;)

Late to this thread. Dunno and tbh dont care how much a mate or other rider earns or what they do for a living. I work with and have known people in London who ask you a few questions based around ‘££’ then make a snap decision on you. Shallow to say the least.

Reminds me of the two lovely ladies I met at the top of Holmbury, I stroked their dog, talked for a while and bid fairwell. She never asked me what I did for a living, how much I earned etc. From what I learnt later she owns alot of Holmbury. A slice of Surrey. The impression I did get of her was that she was warm, down to earth, engaging and highly inquisitive (definitely the last part as she asked me alot of questions!)

Eh eh carm daarn. You never know. Huddersfield town welcomes the Arab billionares. Just as long as the money drifts that way and theres no way Arabs would invest in that racist ‘other’ West yorkshire football club hey.

Good point. I sold a 2nd Soul I had as I couldnt get on with its seat/head angle. The 456 feels like your sat ‘in’ the frame (IMO)

£470 for a steel frame? Get a 456. I can’t see a Soul being worth over twice the price TBH. Unless your some sort of gearqueer. No I dont have my tongue up Brants bum as Im more a fan of his steel 456 than his ti456.

I was driving through town this morning in my Astra coupe (2.2) replenished with ‘Pioneer’ and other decals down the side and I was abused by a cyclist. I dont think he liked my dustbin exhaust at all!

This is serious…..hilarious mind and I was embarrassed but said ‘what up’ to him and made a ‘gang-sign’ before driving off

All the best though. Our friend has three young children. The longterm prognosis isnt good. The Doctors have said due to the detoriation at such a young age she will be permanently in a wheelchair in the future. Thing is, her medical/deterioration may be different/different situation.

For the past few years my right hip has been quite sore after long rides. TBH, a couple more years and I’m going to shift over to 100% road rides. I want mobility/longevity rather than lots of offroading!

I had a buyer from Bolton who wanted to try the forks I sold him for a few weeks to ensure they were sound before leaving feedback etc. I remember thinking go on……break them then say its my fault hey?

Then! Selling some Toyo Proxes tyres and it brought out all the MaxPower-types. Even though the ad said COLLECTION ONLY I had a few who were almost OCD in there ‘arrange courier mate/look we’ll arrange a courier’ or ‘£30 for the lot’ (even though current bidding was £80. Sheesh

Update. The Indie garage is quite good (no main dealer H&S stuff)- as soon as it was up on the ramp I was under there. Noticed straight away there there was alot of grease flung around (a great deal) under and above the inner CV joint.

Removed (engine end seperated itself- housing from the bearing inside). The cv joint at the other end felt like a bag of broken stones when rotated etc.

I’m off to a Dismantlers today to pick up another (saves £300) and was thinking….pick up the other front driveshaft ‘just incase’?

There was grease on the back of the brake caliper on the other side (nearside) but the driveshaft isnt split/loose etc. Could it be that this side was replaced in the past and the spannermonkey didnt bother to clean up the surrounding grease afterwards?

Ps. Car had one owner before me.

Friend of my GF’s had a double-hip replacement at 32. She was told that they would wear out (not really a problem when you have them as a OAP really) but the replacement of the replacement is not good. It wears alot of material away. I wouldnt snowboard to be honest!

Cheers guys. Will report back later. I took the car to the subaru garage yesterday and he RAGGED it up a 50mph dual carriage way and back with no violent-shakes. Back on the motorway today and hey-presto!
Garage thinks its the fly wheel (when they changed the clutch) however I want to investigate ALL first before removing gearboxes etc..

The propshaft should have no movement (up and down) etc at all? When I wiggle it?

Will of course keep you updated.

Two months ago the clutch was changed. Although at the time the flywheel was checked and found to be ok- it could be a worn flywheel????

I was under the car last night with a headtorch and noticed a darker (recent) patch on a cross member under the engine- either side of the cross member was normal/dry. I can visualise the part it came from but cant explain! Will take a piccie

The mounts are ‘known’ (dodgy/soggy) on the Foresters. I am leaning towards a propshaft though

Ok. Its returned. With a vengenance. Noticed a low vibration now at lower speeds and again as soon as I head 60ish on the motorway it starts:

    a) Does it go (immediately) when i dip the clutch and coast?
    – As soon as I dipped the clutch in it went/smooth as a babies bot. Even though I scrubbed no speed off at all. Did this a fair few times- immediate smoothness.
    b) Does it go if I brake, lightly or firmly?
    – No
    c) Does it go immediately if I let right off the throttle? (no)
Revised- if I lift off the throttle it lessens considerably but returns asap as soon as I apply any throttle

Taking it the to the Subaru indie today- if its up on a rmap would it be quick to diagnose???

Religion promotes arrogance in man. Thats why religion is so popular. It promotes elitism, arrogance and tribalism. All part of the human makeup. Some may say the worse parts of humanity.

    Says it all for me.

Posted this many times before, but to me. This talks to me:

I tried to find Him on the Christian cross, but He was not there; I went to the Temple of the Hindus and to the old pagodas, but I could not find a trace of Him anywhere.

I searched on the mountains and in the valleys but neither in the heights nor in the depths was I able to find Him. I went to the Caaba in Mecca, but He was not there either.

I questioned the scholars and philosophers but He was beyond their understanding.

I then looked into my heart and it was there where He dwelled that I saw Him; He was nowhere else to be found.

Surfer, everyone has a fairy within him (or her, usually him though). My fairy talks to me, gives me strong conviction when descending through rock gardens, allowing me to walk/lower my bike down confidently.

We share the same Fairism, beleive me. Only in some, Fairism is stronger.

Sandwich, any pics? I must have been the worse kid possible to put near a mad Corgi. Everytime it bit me I’d go back and bother it only to be bitten again. Sheesh.

Reminds me of the time on a ride when there was a mad westie ontop of a farmers garden wall barking/protecting its ground. I went up to stroke it with my glove on – que a bite to my hand (Ouch!)……rubs hand and sticks it back again just for the little bugger to bite again. I never, ever learn..

I also agree that the Fairies exist surfer. I have seen them with my own god-given eyes (Allah be praised). I have seen many of them around the river that floweth through Manchester. Many many a fairy.

Quick question. Do you see Bible bashers down at the homeless and washed-out actively trying to convert them? Am I being cynical here but are biblebashers selective (or at least draw the line) on whom they want in their community? Its a human weakness after all but surely they should seek to convert ALL souls.
