I think he’ll be creating a new brand with CRC funding/backing and utilising their storage and delivery capabilities to deliver. As good as CRC are (I’ve shop with them for years) I dont think a ‘chain reaction cycle’ sticker on the downtube would sell anything.

I think (not sure) that the 105bhp remap takes it to 130bhp max- more than enough IMO. On the 105bhp TDI they use different sized clutch plates etc so you cant go too high on bhp/torque gains? (not sure on specifics but someone will be along soon more in the know) :)

IMO ABS kicks in waay too early. First time it happened approaching a wet roundabout- NOT hooning etc or misplanning approach I thought ‘why so early’? I didnt stab or suddenly press firmly etc.

I’ve been considering one for ages. My mate moved us from south London to Manchester a few years back in one. Even though it wasnt a LWB it still swallowed everything that we were taking!

TJJ, I’m no expert however I have driven a 1.9TDI (owned one) and driven a couple of 2.0TDI. To be honest if you remapped the 1.9TDI (£350) you’d have a stunning engine. Its got alot of history, reliable etc.

What is the price difference? from a 1.9 to the 2.0TDI? Do you have reservations about remaps?

I experienced my ABS this morning* and a fair few times in the past. Not a problem. On my car you can see the ring – its toothed like a fine cog? (with the caliper/disc assembly off) with the plug in ABS sensor.

* thick virgin snow middle of nowhere on a wide road, needed to turn left but thought I’d drive past first to see if carpark doors open yet. Car stopped, just not on a button ;)

I drove a Honda CRV once and found it to be a bit of a compromise of a vehicle. Abit pointless and a lifestyle vehicle. Same goes for a XTrail. Do you really need that high a vehicle? They always say you need to experience something however experience doesnt mean enjoy IMO. Oh and I own a Subaru Forester!

What speed/how long was the bike dragged for?

A friend of mine once knocked his bike off the top of his car (BRAND new frame)- not yet ridden- knocked it clean off the top- totalled his front wheel, brake and bike rack.

rode the frame for a year after – no probs! 8)

I know this is OT but one of my gripes with car mags (Autocar etc) are the lack of real longterm tests (their fleet lasts 10,000-20,000miles) before they replace. Ben from above I guess inpart they have to stay relavent/uptodate and cover the latest cars. The only exception was the Merc E class estate they bought and ran. Anyway, this is O/T.
