I feel strangely robbed. I was really expecting someone to be worried by the hue of their blood :|

Orange Steve you definitely dont have to justify yourself to me however there isnt any shipping, import duty or a far eastern manufacturers profit/cut to pay on these frames. I just struggle with how a aluminum frame can be price-pointed at £1600. The shock costs £300 if bought at retail?

Like I said this is just a grumpy person here. Its an opinion folks, everyones allowed one.

If the frame is high-end. A grand max. Why does it need to be more? The frames are hardly handmade by US craftsman are they?

This week- the lad who made the Thai starter/main. The judges almost came over the food. ‘ohh that saaaaauuce is just soooo….’ Made me cough up my cuppa! Anyone seen the film God of Cookery? Thought the judge was going to start crying and daydreaming etc at that point!!

The bald one with puddings. Sheesh!

Edit: It’s almost heartbreaking when somebody cooks a duff pudding and Greg takes a bite, waits a second then looks down and quietly says “no” in a sad voice.

    Class. Yes!

I hate to admit it (I actually do)- but I really do like watching it. I dont know why?! Its low-brow and yet I still watch it the whole way through.

Ming the Merciless (who made the clamp choudary in the bread bap) is going to win it me thinks…

stevemcnalls, Stretford (where I live). Following a minor traffic altercation, family followed home by three men in a car. Chased into their house and two put in intensive care. Hard lads on here would have had them though.

Depends if you enjoy riding or like the endurance/surviving aspect. I personally like to ride. People who ride in all weathers- dont you have any other hobbies?!!!!

Detector vans are actually pretty basic technology.

do they really have to make them look soo sinister? All the kit on the roof or is that designed as over-kill to scare the masses into paying?

molgrips I take your point, but working in IT yourself you’d be honestly surprised how often this user can be so **** stooooopid. Probably the most IT illiterate person in the whole company, and BTW I aint no **** geek you mo fo!! I’ve never worked in IT or ‘know’ IT however I bet said person is probably quite lazy in certain other ways as well and routinely gets her way/people to do menial things for her ;)

Only today Ive had someone in their 30’s walking round the office asking if anyone had a calculator. The fact that EVERY **** computer has one loaded didnt occur to him.

compared to the lack of outrage directed at the evasion of import tax on bike components, despite this being proper tax which might actually get spent on something useful.

Probably the most intelligent and insightfull post of the year so far.

My GF has finally agreed to drop TV from our house. Hate it with a passion especially the amount you have to pay. The majority of the TV I watch is on DVD anyway (bought). Since Blackadder etc I havent really seen anything of note from the BBC. One small glimmer was the Tribe series and River Cottage (C4). All of which I bought on DVD so I dont know what I’d be missing. We are looking into commercial Plasma’s (no tv pickup). Cant wait. Sick of paying the BBC to push shit on me.

Yes, upto 2004 I didnt pay for a licence but then again I didnt watch TV. I only used a set for DVD playback and didnt have an ariel fitted. Sadly GF let in a nosey licence lad and he advised her that we really should get one as its a ‘grey area’. If I was in I’d have shoo’d him down the street. The only time we have had one of those knock. Well theres uni but ;)

If this makes me a criminal, taking money out of the BBC’s pocket?! The same beeb that has over 300 staff on 6-figure+ salaries?!

Fixies here to stay and good. Even if your not a fan you can see the simple, subtle and minimalist nature of the bikes. TBH I still havent washed my trackbike on over 2yrs. Just GT85 on the chain every 2-3days (or when it looks brown and makes a loud cracking noise under-torque) :o

….but Ican see why folk love to colour-co-ordinate etc. Long live Fixie!

chrispuppet 2k? I remember when a garage gave me a quote over the phone a couple of weeks ago for 1k my blood ran cold. In my situation I did some thorough searching and thankfully brought the bill down to £165.

AB take a couple of days off work- take your car to a few Ford garages and a couple of Indies. Get them to compete on quotes and cross-reference a few Forums. At the very least you’ll know alot more about cars/symptoms etc. At the end of my two-day debacle I can now identify most engine parts with the car on a ramp etc.

I utterly love small cars. Madly. However I couldnt love the Matiz under any condition. Oi Davy, leave the Aygo alone. I drove one to Germany and my GF had to talk sense into me to stop me taking it onto the Ring (car insurer wouldnt provide insurance and couldnt shop around for a specialist intime!)

True. Can’t the lasses just hold on ‘abit’ longer? Good observation.

Bloke- Gung-ho? 3ft higher? Cynical but did he amend the plans to allow more room? Why would the designers etcc **** up soo badly?

ton I once slept with a girl my friends nicknamed unabrow/the maggot. She thought I was a stallion and recommended me to her sister. Guess what happened? Yes, on all levels it was wrong (Im talking how ugly she was) and I was too dirty to say no. Gawd, I couldnt even claim to have been drunk :(

I was always excluded from ‘Pull a Pig’ night as I’d literally shag anything for a laugh anyway!

Pepper firstly all the best. Currently mine is curled up with his head pressed against the base of my back as I type. Get insurance asap. Although I have come across a few Westies that have had numerous recurring problems possibly due to inbreeding. Too much to type on here but the jist is all these were Kennel club Pedigree ready for show or Kennel club registered breeded etc etc. One Westie (I know yours is not I know) had its ears drilled to relief an ongoing ear infection problem. The owners utterly loved their dog- I did, it was lovely but it struck me as a labour of love. All the best though. I know its not positive but its possible that it was bred from too close a stock and the dog is experiencing inbreeding problems?

In the meantime I wouldnt take it on the motorway etc- not a chance. Thats my worse nightmare- car dies and I cant get across 3 lanes to safety or at a speed of my chosing. All the best :)

Limp home definitely would turn the car off- thats positively terminal if it happens to a driver in the fast lane of the motorway. FACK.

Cant help really- you havent misfuelled? no smoke (excessive) from exhaust?

Just to add…because my commute is relatively at the sametime/same other road users I tend to say ‘thank you’ as much as possible with long hand ‘thanks’ etc. I don’t know if it sinks into to other road users but if a cyclist did this to me I’d get a warm-glow inside :)

…or you could always threaten to bum them. It would scare me if a bloke was making gyrating-hip actions against the side of my car and pointing to me then his nipples.
