to be honest Any rechargable battery can pop and bang. Nothing should ever really be left recharging unattended. Laptops, phones, lights, rc toys etc all have the potential to go wrong and probably somthing like 0.1% will

I’ve had ones like these for two years, still going strong and both still last over 3hrs on full power.

My advice to anyone buying these is bin the charger they come with and buy a better one in the UK. I’m sure it’s the chargers over charging
causing the probs. My chargers went wrong very quickly so that’s what I did. The charger cost me 7quid and was much better quality.

Just aim at improving your own times and don’t worry about where you are too much.

Forget about others and use your own times as a target, you are where you are. Use the times as motivation.

Of course one of the otherways to improve is to cut corners etc, but then you’re only cheating yourself.

It’s not racing and a great tool for improving your own times and getting quicker.

A few people moan about strava and bin it, but I think they take it too seriously because their not as quick as they thought they were. Forget about the tables and work on your times.

I drive a 2006 Transit as my main vehicle and gave done for three years.

Converted mine to 75% camper with a partition at the back for bike storage. A Transit will take a bike across the back left to right without the wheels off meaning the rest of the van can be used as a camper. The rear will also takes three bikes with front wheels removed.

The rest of the van has a sink, double hob, grill 2 four foot seats with a table that converts into a double 6ft bed, 2 large under seat storage areas and another small cupboard. Ply-lined and insulated with loft insulation and covered walls in carpet. It’s not a long wheelbase either.

Pull out awning on the side and an awning rail if staying a longtime and need more space.

Added windows and a sky light and then re-registered it with dvla as a camper. No speed restrictions or high bridge charges.

No problem with everyday use at all.

I have never really understood the transporter fashion as they are so small and most people have to store the bikes on a rack, which for me defeats the point if a van.

Wallet found in street, active facebook account until recently

I would hand in to the police and explain when and where it was found.

Around 250,000+ people go missing every year in the country.

Anyone seen anything about Chris Carmichael? As he claims to be Lances coach for those years what’s happened to him?

Apologies if it is in another post.

I guess people feel like supporting someone who is being made a scapegoat for a sport that is rotten to the core. I guess that’s what money does to a sport.

I love mountain biking they way it is and hope it never becomes a main stream sport as that just brings corruption.

Whether lance did or didn’t most people are missing the point. This is about the sports persecution of one person and is wrong.

Bit carry on hating and missing the point

Nike dropped lance Armstrong but didn’t drop Tiger Woods. So I guess in America it’s ok to cheat on your wife but not on your bike.

Ha ha, just tweeted by Chris Rock

The smaller the diameter of the roller the more resistance you get. I have some tacx ones and they are great for longer intervals of 1-3mins. I prefer rollers over my turbo as time seems to go quicker, it feels more natural and helps to develop a smooth pedal stroke. Short ultra high intense intervals are better on a turbo as you canjyst go mental without falling off.

Longer intervals are great on the tact rollers, you just have to concentrate and be smooth. If get some put them in a doorway to learn and just bounce around. It doesn’t take long to get going and as mol said above you just don’t go anywhere if you come off.

Don’t own a 29 but really like them.

They have absorbed all the grief spd’s used to get in mountain biking. Now all the rad dudes target 29ers.

I knew is was gonna be bad when the rating 12a came up at the start. The first one was an 18. They re cut the film for a lower age rating thats why it’s so watered down

I had this on Kona Dawg once, used the bike for a further two years and had no problems. Mate has the bike now and it’s still fine.

    I wouldn’t worry about it

Are they 150 travel ones? It may be because the forks are at full extension and close to the end of the bushings. Once your on the bike and the forks compress to riding position (sag) they are fine. If there’s no play then this may be the case. 140mm don’t suffer from this as they sit more into the fork.

Do they feel lose when riding? If not then wouldn’t worry.

Probably best to get them checked by a lbs to be safe ad you don’t want to damage the stantions.

Fox antifreeze the last two winters and never had cold hands. They are great because they don’t feel bulky.

I have found that keeping your arms and wrists well covered helps with blood circulation and stops cold hands.

That’s two I’ve seen now. Same place as my mates. Mind you he did rag it and jumped road gaps etc. He also went through bushings. He had it about 8 months.

Not taking anything away from the racers, they’ll race on the tracks provided to an elite and pro way.

Didn’t aim to offend anyone, on here just think it could have been a little better. Been competing in this sport for 24 years in every discipline going and think with the level of tech now in bike designs the courses should have developed further

Xc racing is great and so is dh, 4x etc.

They are worthy Olympic champions who were the fastest around the course provided, but it could have been better (in my opinion)

Who’s never raced elite? What are you on about?

It’s also very predictable that the roadie types would like that course. We are all different and that what keeps the world interesting.

It’s a very smooth track with a few rocks laid out in paved lines with rocks jumbled around. Personally one lap and I’m sure I’d be bored.

Course is 90% blue grade route and 10% red.

Not technical enough, the rock gardens have smooth paved lines with rocks jumbled around. Looked ok on tv, but got bit bored with it.

It will be open to the public, perfect for the family.

Have the carbon version here, uselesshipy sums it up perfectly. Don’t worry about it being too much bike, it’s really not it just not a Xc race bike.

Do uplifts & 30-40 Xc rides on it no probs. Very balanced in the air and the back is very plush. Low bb means the odd pedal strike but gives a lower centre of gravity so corners on rails.

Buy if you are more about getting to the top not uber fast but efficiently and then giving it all on the descents

Find local BMX tracks and learn the skills there. BMX tracks are hard work and make you sprint/improve your power. It’s also not all about jumping, learn to pump the tracks by trying to complete full laps off the start without pedaling, hard at first but a great way to learn just how fast you can go. Practice the jumps but also try to get through them without any airtime by manualing on the back wheel.

Get to a club night and learn the gate, they won’t mind you being on a MTB. You’ll learn alot from the bmxers.

    Raced 4x for 9years stopping in 2008.

Plenty of small ht’s around in the UK. Small frame, 100mm travel fork, short cage rear mech, road cassette, light but strong wheels, fast rolling tyres, 180 disc front, 160 rear. Chain device, light strong cranks ( saints etc)

Lots of choice in the UK as so many good handrail companies.

Sorry to hear that you knew the lad. The incident was near to where I live. Very sad day and my heart goes out to all the friends and family.

At least you gave him a pastime to enjoy, you put the extra effort in that not all teachers do. This could have happened at anytime.

BMX has it’s place. They train as hard as any track rider. In fact a few of the track riders were bmxers before.

Ok so a forward thinking man of his time who created the biggest sporting event in the world would not be open to modern and new sports? Ha ha phil, yes nice one

From the man who says “he’s an ex mountain biker he will pull away down the descent” 345 times during the tour

Got a few photos of the races there. Great times, a local race and from memory was about 400-500 competing.
