Nice one OP. Definitely noticed more trails being cut since strava got a lot more popular.

I like it when a troll is so desperate for attention that they over do it and just look sad.

Much prefer riding on my own. For me it’s always been about the ride not the social aspect.

Riding with others always means a compromise of some sort, route, time etc. Also love the aspect of pushing myself on my own. Still like to occasionally ride with others but not all the time. I guess it’s my introvert side coming out where I don’t really care about what others do and am just into the experience.

Samuri….hope you don’t like the odd drink before you drive? Only joking ;-)
Drink driving is completely unacceptable in everyway and there is absolutely no excuse for it.

Of course the number of sober people involved in fatal rtc’s outweighs that of drink drivers because most of the population don’t drink when driving.

It does say viewing welcome so may be legit.

Could bevsomeone who just likes to own expensive bikes but doesn’t know a lot about them.

Female driver died recently local to here because she didn’t wear a seatbelt correctly. She used to tuck the top strap behind her and just wore it as a lap belt. She was involved in an rtc and died because she head butted the steering wheel so many times.

    I run a FOX 32 150MM FIT on a full sus & 120mm Reba on a hardtail.

In my opinion the Reba is a much smoother fork.Neither fork has failed as yet. The fox works well on big hits and feels fine but when just riding along the Reba just seems to be smoother.

Had a 150mm Revelation on a previous Full suspesion and that was the same as the Reba.

Pretty sure if i was choosing a fork for a bike i would go Rockshox.I also like the lockout on the Rockshox forks that still give you abot an inch of travel.

Had one for 18 months on an EVO….never had a problem, never serviced, never gone wrong.

    Try increasing the air pressure.

Don’t use a camera but recently purchased a small cateye helmet light that is white front, red rear. it looks like a camera when not on (daylight) as it sticks out from the side of helmet. I am convinced cars are giving me more space when overtaking or seem to be more patient.

I have a standard size transit set up as follows.

6ft double bed, converts into 3 seats round a table, twin hob, grill with cupboard underneath. Sink with external pump from water carrier. Lots of underneath seat storage. Full electric hook up.

It’s also boarded off at the back where I store the bikes widthwise. Either 1 with both wheels on or upto 3with front wheel off Also tools etc fit in there.

Have windows fitted in both side doors and a skylight

Great van, room to cook eat, chill and sleep 2 + dog on the floor with bikes safe in the back.

Use it as my everyday vehicle and getting 37mpg out of it. Will probably never get a car again. Self build by me and my dad.

I was resuscitating someone in a gym at the sports centre I worked at back in 2003. Gym was busy with about 60 users, believe it or not but some people were stepping over the poor chap to use equipment, we felt like we were in their way. When more staff arrived we closed the gym.

People are weird, the older I get the more nothing surprises me. People are so caught up in their own importance they really don’t see the bigger picture.

I raced 4x for years, we don’t ask just force the issue or push the rider over the berm. Try that at the Xc race, works everything and you’ll have the added advantage of them not expecting it. Ok maybe ask once, then make a move.

General perceptions…. And that’s the fire services general failure, they don’t market what they do very well

Probably because some of what they do and see us so horrendous you will never know or be able to comprehend it.

To be honest I think that 30 year’s of attending incidents where children have squashed or fattened to a pulp, picking up body parts strewn along a road, entering buildings and pulling out bodies, attending accidents in work places where they have to extract body parts from machinery. 30 years is enough, many go on to get Jo s anyway so still contribute to the economy. Just retire from the fire job

Had a cateye stealth 10 for 6 months and been ok.

Records at 1sec intervals but won’t do directions etc. Simply records with speed, distance, average, max etc.

You can get it for 65-75 pounds. Only negative is on the odd occasion it has taken about 2mins to get a signal. But never lost it one locked on

Also has direct strava upload in the software

Shouldn’t compare jobs, it’s not that ff get a good deal, it’s the others get a bad deal. Ambulance, army etc.

It’s true that most people will never use the fire service but when they do my god they need them. If you ever find yourself in a car with inside of your stomach sat on your lap and pedals crushed into your ankles, crying for your mum you will be so relieved to see a firefighter lean in your window hold your hand and never let it go untill the crew have got you out. You’ll also feel the same about the ambulance crew and police. You’ll think they are worth every penny. You’ll probably also think you’re private sector job which us all about businesses making money and greed and how worth while it us compared these guys and gals.

You can tell from the start that those two riders were new to 4x racing. The gate snap says it all. Still a class move though. Love the size if the crowd.

Anyway if you ride around at 98% you will lose skill and that will become your 100%….so you’ll have to go slower. Keep that up and you may as well buy a cx bike for the downs.

You obviously race, to do well you need to push yourself in training.

You were on an official downhill track . The right place to do it.

He was going the wrong way on a downhill track. You are in no way wrong, he is a plank.

Pebblebeach-you misunderstood my post. Not dissing strava, I’m a user aswell. I was on about the depo creators. I ride 10-15 hours a week always with strava on.

I think you may have misunderstood what I typed.

I mean strava is fun not the digitalepo that’s just sad losers

    Hopk1ns

It’s a site created by people who spend more time at a pc than riding. Hence they are not as fast as they thought they were so then created the programme to rubbish it.

And people that use digiepo are the same.

And people who moan about strava are the same, especially those on forums.

It’s just a bit of fun you know, I really believe people imagine that users are more serious about strava than they really are. It’s just fun.

It could just be the dry weather……if its been dry where you are… i find even my road bike gains a few creaks when it’s been dry a while. Take a few bits of dollop of fresh grease or some thread lock can solve creaks. If its nothing more serious, as you said get in checked at the shop as its only 2 months old.
