How can you tell that? All you see is a fin out the water fanning knocked or pulled of his board. Lots of movement from fanning then the wave obscures the scene until we see him swimming. I dont think Mick thought it just got tangled in his leash.

Trails start from the road that runs at the top of the woods. Gaps in wire fence are the starts. Steep trails and at least 7 tracks.

Some very good trails there…just a bit disjointed to ride in a loop.

Spend most of my time on the excellent conkwell trails looping back up through the wood on the fire road to the top.

could do with an official trail

will be my 25th gravity style enduro this weekend

Don’t think that feeling ever goes away if you like to push yourself. Everyone has their own skill and fitness levels and if your pushing for your best on each stage then it should make you nervous.

Any trail ridden at the limits can be hard, even the easy trail centre stages. But its the feeling of making it down and knowing you have given it your all that gives you the satisfaction.

If you werent nervous it probably wouldnt be as much fun

The route you have looks like fire roads. Staunton has somw of the best tracks around. Probably world class enduro scale. difficult to find and there are probably 10-15 tracks spread out over the area. Really need someone to show you them.

I would recommend the dowies/shutcastle area. Its in the forest between ellwood and parkend. Are you on strava? Easy to locate with segment explore feature. Tracks all over the place

Finally got round to posting some pictures of my Transit Conversion. Had this since 2010. Great van for two of us and the dog but got a little one now so gong to get something bigger. This works for weekends away and races. Bikes fit inside so all safe and secure at night. SWB Transit. Will take up to three bikes in the back.

Will do photos next. we have a daughter now so have just converted a medium wheelbase one with extra bed.

SWB transit will be up for sale.

I have that in a swb transit.

6ft by 4bed. makes up bench seat for three with table. Underseat storage area boxed in. 1 cupboard for pots, pans etc. Twin gas hob and grill, sink with water pump. Gas bottle store and electric hook up.

Insulated, carpeted and area for electric cool box.

Transit is a little wider than transporter so bikes fit across van with front wheel removed In a seperate area at rear.

    Its tight but works

I would recommend the use of a heart monitor.

The problem could be that you dont know how much effort you are putting in.

I use my commutes for extra miles and set the alarm at level 2. That way i just spin along at an easy pace if im tired. Helps with recovery.

heart rate monitors are great to stop overtraining.

Also get used to checking your pulse when you wake up. Get an average and if its up by about 10-15% have an easy ride or rest day.

    Was there a recession?

Or did the media flood us with negative stories that made us think there was a recession.

The rich got richer….the super rich that control the media as part of thier huge corporations With fingers in all the pies.

    Another cilary blue recommendation here.

Ordered my cheap sunnies from the site below. They say in descriptions if they are suitable to cilary blue.

Before Enduro? erm well before I did my first one in the UK 1998 (well it wasn’t called that then it was called Multi Stage Downhill) Before that I had raced 7 years of XC and four years of Downhill.

This year will be my 25th year of racing and i’m glad to see the Format now has it’s own identity, is here to stay and going from strength to strength.

Mountain Bike racing is great, so many disciplines can be raced now
    Downhill
    XC
    4x
    Marathon
    Enduro
    etc.

It’s odd how so many people have a bit of a chip on their shoulder when it comes to Enduro? It’s a shame, just enjoy what you do.

Not as hard as it was about 8/9 years ago when it was tough to clean. They changed the route on the upper third which made it easier.

    Glad you’re ok.

I recommend a mobius from Jovuu. I have the standard lens version and its brilliant. HD quality in the size of a match box and weighs nothing. Use mine commuting and off road. Cheap and effective. Best bit is you dont look like a tool. There is a waterproof case aswell.

much prefer soli riding. Sometimes with maybe 3 others.

Hate seeing big groups out riding. Those type of people cant do anything on thier own.

Hi. try this….Hold the wheel with valve at the bottom so the sealent pools then flip it the other way. The sealant should flood over the valve sealing any leaks. Do it a few times.

    Hope that helps

Nothing better than chilling out with a hot cuppa and mag.

Everything goes in circles, paper will have its day again. Its a bit like the falling sales in out of town supermarkets. The smaller shops and locals are on the rise again.
