Slow and go is probably the truth

Froome jumped realised wiggo didn’t and then slowed. Still plenty of racing to go and why should wiggo attack this early when they had dropped the defending champ and pulled back every attack.

Sit with them, gain time on cadel, don’t lose to any other gc contenders. And save every ounce of energy for the rest of the tour.

    Perfect day.

As with most things it’s about to go mainstream which will probably kill it off. Great series, amazing athletes.

I can’t believe everyone’s going on about lance!

You should be more pissed of that the USDA did this right as the tour started. I can’t believe so many of you are not more pissed about that.

He may be guilty he may not. But why now?

Don’t argue about something none of you know nothing about other than stuff you’ve read. Don’t be so niev.

Overall KSI’s (Killed and Seriously Injured) have been at an all time low. Most of this has been through advances in car tech, engineering out the problem with certain roads and better education.

But probably overall down to the fact we are a recession and fuel costs are high, insurance etc.

A percentage of this increase in Cyclists & Pedestrian casualties will be down to people making the choice to not use the car. (plus also cycking is more pupular these days)

    It’s legal, what’s the problem?

    Arrrr you guys!

It is odd though how they do it two weeks from the tour. It just concerns me that its for the publicity. Who ever is leading the case probably has à big ego like lance. Great for their career.

Done for maximum publicity and not for cyclings benefit. Why now, why when the biggest race is about to start.

Its funny how some of the proven cheats bring out books after they are convicted. I suppose if you add thé name of the most well known cyclist then you’ll sell xxxxx number of extra copies.

If he is convicted then the general public will just see cycling as à cheaters sport. I
Just dont understand the general attitude

REALMAN “Armstrong being found guilty in any way would be bad for cycling. I like cycling. So I choose to believe that Armstrong is innocent. I choose to believe he was a fantastic athlete and an awesome inspiration. It’s a good feeling. If you don’t like him, that’s fair enough. But wanting him to be found guilty is wanting bad things to happen to cycling. For the greater good and what not, it would be better to let him be. The only good that can come from him being found guilty is for a few grumpy old men on internet forums to have a massive “I told you so” orgy, and I’m not even sure that’s a good thing. Besides, Lance has the best tweets.”

Well Said, in total agreement with you there

Kiddies? I love the way you are trying to separate yourself from everyone else.

We all have different things we love, some love dh some Xc, some 4x, enduro. And some hate racing of any type. It’s all cycling and its all good, any coverage is better than none and I’m sure it’ll look good in the end. It’s just if your a real mtber you’ll know it could be better.
(Just one note, please don’t say “it’s the London games” it makes you sound simple and media led, why is the sailing in Weymouth? It could be in the mouth of the Thames? Oh yeah it would be rubbish ).

Ski Sunday has been a massive part of the BBC schedule for about 30years. It’s not a race but a time trial but the BBC must get a lot of viewers otherwise why bother. So apart from the camera numbers issue how different is it from DH?

Any sport can be popular and have a following if it’s in the media and promoted.

I think mrmo just likes to argue, bless him.

    I watched it today,

Great atmosphere, lots of people out. If it came this way near here again would probably go along a second time.

It’s just a bit of fun.

It will end when the big corporations behind most of the media decide its over and start giving out positive news. Its very easy to make the public believe in a down turn, just promote negative stories, most of what you’ve stated are from newspapers etc. Drive a recession and the rich get richer, shares go down, house prices drop etc etc and those with money buy more at rock bottom prices. Its sad but we are controlled by the media and the huge fingers in all the pies corporations that probably linked with mp’s investments, board members etc. This may be a load of bull though

Yeah, they seem to be the in thing at the moment for that factory look. You never really need them unless your racing. Noticed quite a few in the FOD recently scattered around.

Ahh, there must be a down turn in trading for the bike industry. Scott must be getting the next market boosting product tested

Depends how fast you ride and type of terrain. The faster you corner on flat turns the greater chance of rolling the tyre. The more rocks the more chance of rim dings

Didnt say they are no good. Im sure they have a place for a certain style of riding. Great for churning out the miles xc. Its just the media hype that goes with it, cant trust mag reviews as they want bike companies to buy advertising space.
The future is for both 26 and 29 lets just get past all bull, couple of years and we’ll be out of it.

Bla bla bla, lets get everyone to buy a new bike by getting pros to do promo vids. Massive boost to bike industry, their all so media led it’ll be easy. Just like we did with wide bars etc. Bla bla

Unless you keep a diary of excercise you are probably over estimating. Its all very well saying I do this, this and this but is it what you really do? Try a diary over 4 weeks and you might get a shock. TRY IT

    Very close between the two…

Skyline always seems to require more effort but i think thats down to all the fire road.

W2 is best ridden by ignoring the energie section on the way back and continue along the fire road back up past the black, past the top of the climb the first climb. Stay on the fireroad until you get to a right turn. Go down there cut right before you enter the trees and pick up the last section of Skyline single track & then the Skyline final descent which is probably the best one. Adds a bit of extra climbing and few more km’s but not sure how many.

    I have one.
Done three 3 to 4 hour rides so far and no complaints. Very stable dh and corners very well due to low bb and very low standover. 67ha gives it the edge on steeper trails without affecting climbing too much. Jumps very well and feels stable in the air. Easy to pick the front up and manual at speed and is pretty rapid due to the low weight for a 150mm travel.
Only negative is the odd pedal strike due to the low bb.

Err yeah they. May be faster than those with droppers, but those with droppers would be slower again with high seatposts. It’s not a competition to see who’s the fastest it’s just fact that if you can learn to descend with out a seat between your legs you will descend quicker and improve your ability. If you ride with a high saddle then your descending will be compromised, drop it, re-learn and you’ll be quicker again. So the reason for a dropper is to maximise your descending for your given skill level.

    Hopk1ns
    Free Member

No No they may descend fast for someone with a high saddle but they wont be proper quick. Not a chance, you just cant. I may of course be wrong and so may be the proper quick dhrs.

    Hopk1ns
    Free Member

Descending with your seat up is like climbing with your seat down.
SPIN – cannot descend fast. They may think they can, but they cant. Thats it, they are admitting on the forum they are crap.
