Stick with it, think about where you are stopping to walk and aim to go a little further every couple of rides. Good on you, keep it up for summer gains

BBC commentry was good and I thought was better than GCN Discovery. V funny when Andrew Neethling used the phrase ‘pissed off’ and Clare Baldwin interrupted the commentary 2mins later to apologies.

Nice to have Clare and Chris Boardman talking about how amazing the sport of downhill is after the race finished. They seemed  emmotional after watching it

I think the BBC did a grand job for the sport in the UK putting it live on BBC one all afternoon.

It’s on BBC red button now, and then BBC one from 1:15. Andrew Neethling has joined the generic BBC commentator so it’s better than juniors.

Also on discovery plus with thier commentators

It’s great for the sport that BBC one are showing it live for 5ish hours.

Ha ha, this just made me laugh out loud. I’ve thought exactly the same thing and used far more harsh words than dicks to describe them.

Thought it was just me who noticed this.

MBR is awful these days, not alot of content. Seems to be morphing into the wst MBI went.
    Singletrack still a good read
MBUK seems to have gone through its bad period. Its actually really good these days. Historicly the UK scene owes alot to the mag in my opinion

Wiltshire and Swindon has had no speed camera vans or static cameras for 10+years. Road traffic casualty stats didnt change, in fact continued to drop as they have across the country over those 10 years.

Not saying its right, because speeding causes alot of other issues and is anti social, increases pollution etc.

Just intresting that they dont seem to have made a huge difference in terms of casualty reduction. Of course it may be that the general expectation that cameras are about affects drivers attitudes when passing through.

I think you’ll find that all this coverage is to stop people gathering at royal locations around the country. Probably wouldnt have been so extensive if the pendemic wasn’t going on.

Had this on some old Deore cranks. As oldanpastit said, i tried Loctite bearing retainer and it worked on mine. Depends how bad the splines are worn.

Possibly the two having the argument fake, the lady speaking out real.

You can hear them both clearly which makes me think they have microphones on, she’s a lot quieter when speaking as you get all the background noise picked up by the camera that’s filming.

@greeny30 its not really stirring the pot. Its 1 or 2 vids a week. Its not a 24/7 life diary. How do you know what he’s doing the rest of the time?

I think the amount of coverage he gets is probably worth more than results.

The pandemic is a self righteous persons dream event. No better opportunity to poor scorn on other people and feel morally superior.

They are/were proffesional downhill racers. Its fair to say that they are probably not the most risk adverse people around, otherwise they probably wouldn’t have been succesful in a sport based on taking risks.

Very funny, brilliant entertainment. Enjoy these videos.

Also great fuel for potential future Parish Council members to get all self righteous about.

Don’t be a dick about it can also be applied to those that are given some rules and take them to the most extreme. The kind of people that should never be given a yellow tabard.

Exercise on your own or with someone from your house hold once per day.

    Only make essential journeys.

Both are open to interpretation and left deliberately so.

The ideas is to flaten the curve, not totally stop the spread. If you think this is just three weeks isolation, Think again. No way its going to be relaxed before easter weekend!

Everyone needs to understand they are going to get this at some point. If not now, probably in 18 months time.

Reducing movement, reduces speed of spread. This helps NHS with overload issues.

If you lock people down too tightly then what seens novel at the moment will seriously effect people in the long run. People will start to rebel as time goes by. That’s why its left to be open to interpretation to a certain extent. If you come down too militant then it will become harder to enforce. Its in peoples nature to rebel, the Gov and its advisors seem to understand this.

All those people at home doing diy and gardening is going to cause a massive strain on A & E due to DIY and Gardening injuries.

The current view by government is that people should exercise locally but dosent define local. It also says driving to exercise should be avoided when unnecessariry, once again deliberately not saying you cant.

Say change your exercise times to avoid doing it when most people are around is aa silly thing to say. You are talking to one person, if they change their time then 100’s of others are still doing it at the same time.

Exercise is essential for mental wellbeing, not spreading this virus is essential. If you live in a densely populated area find somewhere quiet to exercise. If you need to drive a short distance to do that in your local area, then do it. Gov are not saying you cant.

By the way i live on the edge of a small town and can ride along the old railway track into the hills for an 1-2 hour ride. Not driven since this started as i can exercise safely without risk of exposure to the virus. But i know some people are not as lucky as me.

I dont think crashing is the issue here. I would think right now the a and e departments are about to have a mass influx of diy injures.

Also i know the local fire service had 20 seperate bonfire calls in one day where the fire got out of control.

Having all these people staying at home with no way to destress or outlet is going to cause alot of other issues.

But the spread of the virus is seen as the biggest risk right now.

Be intresting to see the bigger picture when its all over and we look back.

@jsync they are running sram 203 front ans 180 rear discs.

2 pots are plenty powerful enough. I mean if Loic Bruni can win the Junior World Champs on Cura 2 pots in 2017, they are probably powerful enough for most riders.

I have formula cura for 2 years. Good modulation, no brake rub and not had to bleed yet. Very powerful for 2 pots.

Yes its great. The price of normal bikes will fall as they wont have a motor. Which means highend bikes will be much more affordable than the equivalent ebike version.

Mtbing for me over the last 33 years has always been about the challenge, never wanted to water it down and make it easier. Hopefully will now get more bang for buck in the sport i love.

Sorry to hear that. Lost my true best mate a couple of years ago to cancer. A border collie i got from a rescue centre when he was 1. Died at 14 and it really hurt as he went everywhere with me, even to work. We soon got another dog and although he dosent replace Max, hes great and really helped us get over the loss.

Miley is whatever will be slightly controversial and get her the most publicity. I would say she is probably more of a serial attention seeker than pansexual. Celebrity status is all she has known in her life, so no matter how much publicity she gets, she’ll always be trying to reinvented herself for more attention. Its her job.

As mentioned above, conkwell has a number of fairly steep and technical trails. All drop from the lane at the top, the more you look the more you’ll see. Lots of rocks and quite slippery when wet. Great in the dry.

Browns folly is good, but a bit controversial to ride. So of course we don’t ride there…..not that i have ever met anyone who had an issue.

Both areas can be linked up and the canal path at the bottom is a nice spin back into Bath.

Because they want to release their top rate components and make sure they are absolutely spot on. They should be commended for not dropping their high standards just to make money.

They dont have it wrong, just high standards.

I really wouldn’t worry about this. Dont think your ever going to be stopped. This is more about controlling motorised vehicles in those areas, especally around the winter and summer soltice.

It gives the police the ability to move anyone on in the area.

Doubt its anything to bo with cycling
