Yes hobnob, I tend to agree with that statement, I used to get on really well with Deity bars so may give them a try in wider than the 724mms I’m currently running.

I thought the Enves would be same as most, just being new to proper carbon bars or what I perceived to be proper and looks as well as they’re currently on offer and my current bars aren’t wide enough, I thought I’d pose the Q to the STW hive.

Not quite what I was asking for, more advice and info on the Enve DH bar was what I was after.

Yes and that’s what I will be doing, I was merely asking for anyone who is working up there atm for their take on things.

woahhhh, what a **** game that sounded like in France to be let down like that.

Ok so now am thinking differently or edging on the side of caution with Bos.

Can you please tell me if TF still service them or not?

Gotta say those Pike Djs look the business!

Oh Mildred, one more thing, are they easy to adjust the reb and comp meaning, how many clicks does one comp or reb take to have an effect?

    REALLY!?

So who actually services within the UK then. I was under the assumption that Jungle the distributor would have a UK service centre surely…???

thanks for the input mildred, as for the pike djs, they would be used primarily on my trail bike which happens to be my only bike now.
I am a heavy rider but like to think I am smoother than my weight suggests.
I ride mainly natural trails but am wanting to check out trail centres if that makes any difference…?

I just ride along up and down, they call it all mountain these days but I just call it riding. 😛

In regards to Bos servicing, now that Jungle are the sorters of this if any faff arises, is that a good or bad thing? as never had experience with any warranty work for bike kit I’m pretty certain so unsure of the merits of Bos’ new disty in the UK.

Yes I thought the TRC version may well be too much faff to go wrong and the fact I like things errrr SIMPLE. 😆

I’m also guessing that the Pike DJs will be inherently stiffer dampening from standard.

Ok so TRC just stiffens up the Travel, thanks for confirming that
wondering now how much servicing costs on the Deville.

I am going to lose 24mm so pretty much an inch in axle to crown height over the X-fusion Velvet 140mm 650b ready forks I had so will steepen by a degree I guess in head angle so should improve an used to be slack HA.

    As for the RS Pike,,,
Not sure as DJs description doesn’t give away much.
I was only looking at them as they are in 26″ and 140mm travel to suit my frame.

My main concern is that I will be dissapointed by the RS dampening and overall feel and the fact they dive according to reviews.

I have always been unlucky with RS forks in the past and feel that at that
kinda price, I am not looking to risk it but was beginning to be open to the idea of a new Pike.

Don’t these supposedly pro nature ramblers who do these kind of things think ~oh wait a minute bob, if we cut this tree down and put it in the way of cyclists, isn’t that going to do more harm than good for our cause~

I got the impression that superstar didn’t want new custom when trying to order a set of wheels over the telephone, hence why I never did follow through…

By sounds of it, if I did go though with order, and my wheels collapsed, I certainly would follow through 😆

PinkBike is where they seem to mass advertise plus they cannot make their minds up on the actual prices of their stock from ebay to pb.

they’re becoming the santa cruz yo yo pricing practices such as Onone do.

Dunno but there blatant mass advertising everywhere except here is tedious.

Does anybody know how the carbon process for producing these frames differs from one another?

    hopeychondriact

true perhaps although I think that I would keep my seatpost at a fixed height anyway unless I chose the 456 which I would opt for a dropper more than likely.

Is this the Ohlins model, if so looks bang tidy and worth going for, I too am interested to know if anyone has one and how it pedals as I have never had a Speshy.

    Yunki!

I’m not sure whether to answer you this but perhaps you get them fresh and clean but I always seem to get that sour salty taste from making them cough squirt cough.

It royally put me off now, so am going to refrain from diving.

Please be my guest and go eat some…
    I won’t get jealous!

just for reference to the op, I just sold my excellent 5 for £195 posted and was a 32GB version.

Personally I would go for the 5 as it comes with panoramic camera and some nice touches plus the 4 will be obsolete soon with software updates whent he 6s or 7 releases late July/Sept.

hope this helps you a bit in your decision 🙂

I completely agree, when I switched on the box to find him voicing the lyric douchebag in an r2d2 like voice, that’s when i revoked my bbc license and asked for a refund.

What Dave said above is true, Halo 29er wheels had that when removing front wheel via maxle.

it was a bummer for sure. but ok, just a pita tbh.

close bearni, more like going down on a lady as it was classed as just experimentation back then but is actually pretty nasty nowadays, maybe my taste has since changed.

If you bother with Cranham, there’s not much long descents or long climbs for that matter.

Popes wood is good for a bit of tight short lived DH with a steep chute at the top/start.

Lecky is worth going to if you want to get there easily and find your way found easily too.
Bear in mind Lecky is used as a himan cesspit the majority of time. I’ve seen it all up there. Hence why I don’t bother anymore.

FOD is yet anither trail centre of course which brings hoards of folk who predominantly I see as getting in the way and I’m no fast rider uphill these days/at the moment.

Great landscape and reasonably freindly locals. It’s got a chilled kinda atmosphere.

Sometimes I wish I lived somewhere where there are tracks that are endless (as you do) because the ones we have are pretty short lived off road that is.
