Or when there was an exchange problem so we were all told to close outlook until further notice. Then an email went out saying we could all use it again…

I have only seen animated 3D movies (I have kids and don’t get to cinema unless it is with them) and find the 3D really good.

In fact I have found myself ducking when something comes towards me on more than 1 occasion :-D

The average house price in the Uk is supposed to be £235k? A quick google shows this means a £1200 odd payment.

That’s about £21k without more than a few pennies to spare.

I guess to own an average house, drive an average car etc would need the best part of £35k. you can make your own mind up if that is good or not.

Note, back of fagpacket calculations after a boozy lunch so may be a tad off ;-)

Have you lot really not got an equal say in your relationship? I can’t imagine living my life with somebody constantly niggling and telling me what to do.

Yes, I am married and yes to a woman.

I guess the only option is to vote with you feet, if you get bad service then go somewhere else. Eventually they will either get the message and change or close down.

I like to support anything local, pub, butcher, village shop etc but I will only give them so many chances to get it right. My LBS has had its chances…

My kids are a bit younger than 13 but we have the same thing.

My Mrs often invites our kids friends over after school or in the holidays, she always feeds them and makes sure they are looked after.

What never fails to amaze me is how few of these kids’ parents return the invite, never mind go out of their way to do something nice.

Unless my kids are nasty little buggers when they are at somebody elses house, I can’t understand why people would be happy to have their kids at my house without returning the invitation?

I would agree what the others have said, somebody buying expects a reasonable wait to get it. It is up to you and your agent to keep them updated on progress and gauge what delay would be a deal breaker for them.

As much as you don’t want to lose the buyer, they must really like the house or they wouldn’t have offered.

    Congrats on the sale BTW!

Option 2 in my opinion, there is nothing better than coming home to your family every night.

Your wife will probably (hopefully) like to have you home too, they find it quite lonely being with a little one all day and miss the adult company.

I have some claw gloves from when I had a motorbike, too hot to use while cycling even when it was -6C.

If you really suffer with cold hands and living where you do, maybe search for motorbike and not cycling gloves? From memory mine are Tucano Urbano.

Even if the BBC coverage is bad (which I am not sure I agree with), it is still licence payer funded so I get to see it. I wont be getting BT sport and the local pub doesn’t show it on telly so I wont get to see it after this season.

It is a shame that Moto GP is moving away from BBC next year, it is one of the few things that I enjoy watching on the beeb

I dont like being called either, would far rather have a text or email.

Think that comes from years of IT support when the phone ringing means nothing but problems.

ebay, I have sold 5 cars without issue all for a lot more than webuyanycar or similar.

I know some people say it is a lot of hassle but the last car I sold for my mum got her £1200 more than webuyanycar offered. I make that £2400 per hour for the work involved and the guy came to fetch it.

I get about £6k per year, no business mileage anymore so I pay all fuel. Car allowance comes with conditions that car has to be 4 seats, airbags, ABS, less than 6 yrs old, valid MOT and business insurance etc.

I bought a high milage 4.5 year old car so the allowance paid for it in about a year. Money now goes into an account for servicing, insurance, house repairs and bikes

Fleet department are chasing me as the car is now 6 years old and needs changing but I keep ignoring them as every month I don’t change the car is “free” money.

A very odd race, would have been great to see them change the wheel as they do in road racing.

Good to see Lorenzo win again too.

Not saying Marquez is not a good rider but I wonder if the Honda is head and shoulders above the other bikes and a lot of the top riders could be winning races? I mean Stoner, Pedrosa and Marc could be Rossi/Cal/Hayden etc…

I watched it this weekend and quite liked the house, unreal that you can have something like that so close to London.

There was a hefty price tag though…

    careful what you wish for

    This.

Giving up a job that gives you a decent income does not bring you instant happiness. Grass, greener etc.

Remember too that having a nice house and a few of the nicer things in life can bring a lot of pleasure too.

Does the fact that a lot of employers do a cycle to work scheme add to the number of cyclists?

I guess a lot of people used to cycle when younger and see the scheme and decide to go for it. Some keep going and some realize it is harder work than when they were 13 and the bike sits gathering dust in the shed.

Wanting to do the best for my 2 kids, keeping a good work life balance so I get to see them while still having the financial security to give them what they need. This includes looking after my health and making sure I am around to see them for many years to come.

That and trying not to take life too seriously, things don’t often work out as you plan so there is an element of making it up as you go along and adapting.

Don’t know what you are talking about. My washing goes in this magic basket in the bathroom, 2 days later it turns up on the bed clean.

Really muddy stuff gets hung up in the garage until dry and then shaken, gets 90% of the mud off and depending on the item can either be washed or re-worn.

They are pretty fugly but if it is anything like my office, it is all banter.

Replying with “your Mrs thought they looked ok when I left yours this morning” or similar normally does the trick

Another IT manager here, (no audi, Orange 5, ipad, woodburner etc) Shortest way to describe my job is I bring common sense to a room full of senior people (who have lost touch with reality), techies (who cant interact with humans), vendors (who try to rape us) and customers (who think you can get the moon on a stick, yesterday and for 3 pence…)

Pay is very good, better than it should be in my opinion – but still less than colleagues who do less and lack above common sense…

Walk around a lot carrying a piece of paper and walk fast to show you are in a rush.

And put your headset on so it looks like yo are on a conf call when sitting at your desk.

Not me of course, this what my friend told me…
