Where did you hear this nonk?

I phoned up a few days ago to see if they could add something to my order and honour the 20% discount, that the rest of the order was placed under
Richard moir personally said to place the order, pay at full price and he would happily refund the difference, which he did. Then the only status note regarding that last order read, only deal direct with Richard m regarding this order.
Call me paranoid but it seems so suspicious now, it’s only £140 but still!

There’s some deals to be found at the moment
I just ordered a 42t absolute black, sram direct mount for £58. I think rrp is about £80

Likewise, I spoke to them on weds and they assured me it would be delivered by Friday.
They seem like good guys, so I’m going to optimistically assume they are sat behind those closed shutters, merrily packing up all the last orders and refunding those incomplete orders, like a bunch of happy elves.

Will do, cheers…. got to find somewhere else that sells sram force long cage mechs for a reasonable price now!(assuming I ever see my money back)

Anyone heard anymore about the state of the company? Seems very strange to shut down website, not answer phones and switch ans phone message to a generic one.
They currently have £165 of my hard earned, guess I had better open a PayPal dispute and keep my fingers crossed

I have ordered a couple of zees, as they don’t look too bad and consensus seems good. Just hope my bottles fit, I have enough though, so sure most will

Haha, yep yep, of course! I love this place for reality checks (virtual slaps round the head)

Any thoughts on which side for side exit? I’d automatically just order two right hand exit ones but when you look on spesh website, they seem to recommend left on diwntube, right on seat tube?
Each to their own I guess

Haha, thought that would be the end result with the eBay titanium ones.
Thanks for taking one for the greater knowledge guys

Spesh zee looks like a contender
Anyone tried the cheap eBay titanium ones?

Mild hijack but answers maybe useful to the op…Can anyone recommend any slim fit shorts? Not city cotton jobs but decent mud/rain proof ones.
I’m fed up of flappy overshorts in bad weather, sounding like a loose sail on a boat ( I’m a bit of a Lycra warrior really and would rather something more fitted and above the knee

Just to add balance (not smugness, honest)
Just put together a new tubeless setup (for only the second time in my life).
    Hope 20five 700c rims
    Two layers of Stans tape
Simple cross cut, to poke Stans valve through
    59ml sealant in each tyre
    40mm nano rear
    42mm resolute front

Popped tyres on, left the last bit open, poured in sealant, levered rest of tyre onto rim.

Used a bog std (little bit knackered) track pump and bingo! Straight up, bead seated at around 45psi, still holding pressure now, 3hrs later, no seapage

Seriously a piece of cake, although maybe I just got lucky, or maybe they will explode overnight, or maybe burp off the rim when I finally ride them…

Pretty sure I ran a gx mech with force shifters once before…. but I want super smooth shifting if I can and not sure that will provide it…

no joy finding force 11 speed long cages for £80 on eBay! I thought I was pretty good on the old eBay too!

My hope wheels arrived today, as promised… also hope headset cups.

very helpful throughout via phone and email…. about 2 weeks from order to delivery, major savings over any other supplier, so more than happy to wait two weeks, which is actually a pretty short wait really!

will happily order from them again (in fact I just have)

How did you get a force equipped tempest for £1500? Bargain! I was looking for ages and would have bought one at £1500. Built a bike instead, as it looked like it would never drop that low

One thing to say. I may still be waiting (which is understandable really) but they are one of the best companies I have dealt with, as far as communication goes. No long waits to get through on the phone, very nice and helpful people to talk to and excellent follow up to phone calls by email.

as long as there aren’t further, crazy, delays, I think I quite rate them, on customer service alone!

In that case, I think I’ll stick to the 100. Just didn’t want to miss out on the party!

ill be heading up from Cornwall, so probably hang out for the whole weekend anyway!

just got to make sure I don’t explode my bike on the dirty Reiver the month before

I watched the video after I had booked. That’s what got me thinking, that all the 100 milers must just skulk off at their own at the end and miss the fun?

My only concern is that they are showing in stock, just puzzled as to why they haven’t been dispatched  if they have them!

happy to be patient, to a degree but I’m too excited about building a new bike up, haha

fingers crossed for the rest of you

Thanks for the replies, the Funn and the XT ones look perfect!

i toyed with getting a pair of Ritchey trail spds, I’ve had them before, but really they are useless with trainers.

    Much appreciated all

We did it when I built our house… Bought a cheap 1980’s static for £1200. Lived in it for just over two years (sold it for £1k). First year while we saved money and slowly dismantled the concrete barns onsite. Second year, and a few months, while i built the house.

Went through the 2010 and 2011 winters in it, subzero for weeks and despite being as cold as i have ever been, it was weirdly fun too. We didn’t even have a plumbed in toilet and i built a composting toilet, outhouse style, next to the caravan.

We actually had a hard time moving out and into the new, warm, bright, spacious, economical house i built. I think we had become static caravan institutionalised.

We would do it again in a heartbeat, loved it really. Although we didn’t have kids then, might be a bit different now

Build something, exactly how you want it…

im just starting a build around a Fearless vulture, hope wheels and hope/Thomson finishing kit. Sram force 1×11 hydro g/set. A few Gucci parts and should come in between £1200-1300, with a bit of clever parts buying? (Still more than my initial £1k budget though)

I’m coming towards the end of my 2nd MSc, both in  various areas related to sustainable architecture…

if you think you have the time, do it!

im only doing the second one for my own enjoyment really and keeping up to date with current practice. Weirdly I’ll be gutted when I hand in my thesis and it’s all over!

CBD oil…. not only will it help with getting a good nights sleep but helps with many other things too.

i haven’t touched ibuprofen once since starting daily cbd and with cycling, ultra running and climbing, my body is always beat up.

for me a benefit has also been much deeper more effective sleep

have a read about it if your not familiar. Can’t recommend highly enough

Thanks for the last two replies… really helpful.

i have concluded that I want to buy a v3 tempest (force) but sadly it’s  too far over budget…. I will try and be patient and see if any discounts appear

    All good points…

shame there’s nowhere I can see the tempest and Pickenflick in the flesh.

i would normally rather buy 2nd hand but can’t find anything at all

the force Pickenflick is hellishly good value!
